The haters that claim us Bronies worship MLP FIM as a religion?

Is ridiculous. Even if that were the case, we have so far have a far better track record than most religions. No killing people in the name of My Little Pony yet nor sacking of cities yet. And besides, aren't we allowed worship whatever we want anyway? I'm sure there's some of us that really do worship the Ponies, but I imagine a very small number.

 

We're just a fandom of people that like My Little Pony and I don't think we're going have much impact on politics or any real world implications. Nopony is going to really listen or take seriously the My Little Pony Party in government, and I think they would be disliked by a lot of Bronies as well.

Hey if friendship and caring is a religion then I am ok with them thinking that. As for the show, no. Though there are quite a few bronies who are nuts and go around forcing the show upon people. So I understand where the haters get this idea from.

 I can't even fathom the level of stupidity of these Bronies saying something like this. You speak of "harmony", but what you actually speak of is hegemony. (I know us Bronies, aren't really dangerous, but this is still a troubling mind set) Also everyone has their own way of finding happiness.

Complainers complain about things just because there isn't anything really to complain about. (oh, well that grass is too long! What do you mean it's the same length as mine? Well, your grass needs to be greener!) and so on.

 

I'm sure there is folks that despise My Little Pony fans but they themselves take part in liking something else to a mildly excessive or even excessively excessive amount. What could that something else be, anything man. Alarm clocks, Pokemon, The Walking Dead, NASCAR, Drugs, and anything else. But ya know they think that is totally groovy even though it is on pretty much the same boat as MLP fans. Same idea just different applications.

 

As for a religious aspect of the show's fans, as long as you don't shove the whole fandom/brony thing in people's faces and make them notice it, I don't see a issue. Just like it, and tell people about it only if they ask why you have a MLP shirt or whatever else ya got. Just gotta rock what ya got and stay true to yourself *tokes on doobie*... Yeah man. 

 

But if I wanted to take over the world with a religion, I'd make up my own, you know, with blackjack and hookers! And call it "puppy". Everyone does what ever I say, the end and we all worship a golden puppy named Darrel.

We're also doing better than star trek, star wars, and Warcraft fandoms by all right too.

Unless there have been random viscous fights breaking out over best pony, or best princess etc...

 

Like those that get violent over best captain, who shot first, or which faction is better......

Not sure how often those fandoms have made national news over the fans getting in major tussles, or wal mart greeters punching someone over a shirt opposing their views....

There is a rather annoying minority of bronies that do treat the fandom like a religion by putting it on a pedestal but you have that in quite a few other fandoms as well so to single out bronies is just another case of haters and trolls trying to tear others down to make themselves feel better.

There are other fandoms that worship their own show or whatever their fandom is centered around, as a religion. The haters just want our attention desperately, and the sad truth is a small amount of bronies worship the fandom like a religion.

Well, first of all the haters would claim we started the holocaust if they wanted to.

 

The simple fact is that by vast vast majority that is not realistically true.

 

I am a Christian, so i hate to break it to ya, but i couldn't be worshiping a show, i'm not here to discuss religion, but that should be common sense ;p.

 

I'm sure there is a few who do, but like, you could make those kinds of assumptions with every single group of human beings on the face of planet earth basically.(probably even beyond ;p.)

 

Its just like any other stereotype, sure there might be people who fit the stereotypes and assumptions, but that does not mean the entire group does, many are almost polar opposite to stereotypical claims made about all kinds of things.

 

In the end haters will make many many assumptions, and maybe a few people fit will fit each one, but the entire fandom isn't represented by a few random people. Especially one as expansive as ours.

 

Like with any other stereotypes other, it is ignorant to base a group of people to a stereotype, because no mater how little or many people fit it, there is always exceptions.

 

in essence the haters are probably just striving for attention, or are truly just being ignorant, either way its best to ignore it.

All of the Trekkers I have met in my long time as one have mostly done what you have described for the lulz. I mean, I remember there was one point when I was at a con when a bunch of Klingons came out of nowhere and facetackled some Stormtroopers because of the "war" between Trekkers and...uh...Star Wars fans. Anyways, you're always going to have the nuts in any fandom, brony included. I know people that worship the Seven from game of Thrones non-jokingly. (Personally my GRRMaphobe friends and I prefer the Drowned God and the Lord of Light but you know).
