Yeah, when I first saw that scene I thought the same thing. I didn't think she would hit the portal directly, I thought she would hit and destroy the corners.

Yeah, the frame is still plenty destructable, which could possibly close the portal.

 

She did say she was bluffing however, and might not have considered that. x3

She was pretty much confident and bluffing at the same time. Even if she went with it, the portal would either close or the sledgehammer would go through the portal.

I'm pretty sure the frame around it is destructible, which would in turn probably close the portal.

 

So yeah, i really didn't have that issue with thinking it'd go through, because i thought the same thing at first. 

 

However she was never going to do it anyways, so it didn't really matter i guess.

Yeah, at first i thought "pffft it'll go through..." Then I realized she could hit the frame to destroy the portal, but honestly it was obvious she'd never go through with it...

I agree with you guys. I don't think she was planning on hitting the actual portal; if she was, then she's not very bright. It would probably go right through and hit somepony in the head or something.
