All Boy Cast Episode Special?

I was wondering, about one episode where the entire mane 6 cast is regulated to the background and the episode manely focuses on the boys of MLP.

 

Specifically each pony's male counterparts. I think the episode should revolve around Spike since he is the most prominate male in the series. This will primarily be a Spike Episode.

 

My idea would be it would around Hearts and Hooves day again, but this time Rarity gets dumbed by a male pony that she had a crush on! She vows "she will never love another Colt or Stallion Every Again!" That really excites Spike since Rarity has vowed to never love a "pony again" and since he's a dragon he's wide open. But he has to work up the courage to ask her out on a date.

 

So Spike then seeks out advice from the rest of the mane six male counterparts.

 

This whole episode is how Spike needs to understand how to be a good "boyfriend" to Rarity. Guys are a different dynamic then girls.

 

I think it would be unique to have an episode dedicated to nothing but a male cast, while the mane six are regulated to the background. Its happened before.

 

The best example I can think of is in Babylon 5's season 5 episode "A View from the Gallery" where the main cast has been regluated to the background and the episode follows two maintence guys. The episode happenes to be one of my favorites of the series since, it proves that a show can build a story around two characters who are mainly regulated to this one episode and it really opens up the world to the other characters who are in the background most of the time.

 

I think it would be a great service to the shipping fans and would be nice to see what the world of MLP is from the Male's prespective. If you think about it, G4 has had the most males featured in the cast since 1983. I would love to have that showcased at least in some way.

I don't see it happening, I don't know why we would need to have the Mane 6 male counterparts in the show or in an episode. Maybe it could do something, but it could happen.

 

But there aren't as many male characters that are actually interesting to have episodes focused or centered around them. Better yet, have an episode where Twilight accidentally makes a spell that changes the gender of her friends and other ponies.

I don't think it'll happen, there aren't many major ones outside of Spike, Big Mac, Discord, and maybe Shining Armor and I highly doubt many would want to see an episode where Snips and Snails are predominant characters.

On top of that I doubt we'd see them dig up a few other minor characters from past episodes like Soarin or Fancy Pants or use BG characters

Actually that's not true Hawkflame. There was a Big Mac episode,it  was really the Hearts and Hooves episode. It didn't focus on him, but he was a real supporting character.

 

That's kinda what I was thinking. That the supporting characters would get a least one episode where the main cast is regulated to the background. It would actually be a good thing, because you don't want to have the show get too stale after awhile.

I agree since the show is female prominent, but still, never say never.

I don't see it happening, but it would be interesting to have an episode with guys.  Not a big fan of another Spike episode though...  Especially not one with Spike and Rarity.  I'd be more interested in maybe a Shining Armor Or Big Mac episode.  And even though these are more background characters, it'd be awesome to see Soarin' or Thunderlane!

I don't see it as fan service, unless the fandom complained about not having male characters other than Spike as the focus in the episode.

It would be frustrating to have Spike as the main subject, yes he is the most common male character but we've already had Spike episode/s so I see your point.

No.... I mean what would the girls who watch MLP think? I mean they might like it but it's kinda weird to have a All Boy Cast... But if it was only one ep then maybe but it would have to connect with the story and the mane six. :comeatus:

Maybe, I can see it happening. Maybe a spell switches everyone's gender or we see a parallel world with gender swapped counterparts.

Although I think it's kind of a generic plot device, if it happens it will probably be in a later season. (if there's going to be more seasons)
