Where's Princess Celestia?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we haven't seen much of Princess Celestia (or Luna) in Season 4 so far, barring the first episode of course. Why is she so absent? Will we see her again? 

 

When I saw that Twilight Sparkle became a Princess I, and I think many others too, saw this as an opportunity for some serious Canterlot Castle fun, but it feels like we're just following the formula for series 1+2. Anyone else thought this?

She's really busy, princess and whatnot. Luna is supposed to be popping up in an episode soon.

She's probably busy keeping the real keys to the tree of harmony away from Twilight.

I wish we've seen her more simply so she can tell Twilight what she is supposed to be doing as a princess. I've never made a study of how many times she appeared in other seasons, but I'm sure it was more often. As far as this season being like 1&2, I think people wish it would be so, because season 4 seems very experimental to some and not in a good way.

Celestia is hiding from the writers. She doesn't want them to "Twilight" her.

To be honest, I think that I'm one of those that would most LOVE an episode were Celestia is shown doing something interesting. But I also dread the day this will happen because with the way that DHX has been handling Cadance and Twilight, I don't feel that they can do something nice with Celestia without screwing up bad the canon of the show. Of course, I have been proven wrong several times and they may have something awesome in store...

 

Like I have been saying all over the forum, the problem is that Celestia does things that are outside the scope of the show: she rules a country (supposedly Luna should be doing it too...), teaches magic, etc... I doubt that unless she is given some ability like Luna's "dreamwalk" we'll ever see her doing her stuff.

 

Honestly, I think that Meghan hates Celestia. XD

She's 4000 pounds, sitting on her couch, watching her soaps, wolfing down Teddy Graham's and crying due to her horrible self-image. "Mom always liked Luna more", "I used to be so much more beautiful.", "Stallions don't look at me like a mortal being with needs and emotions", "I never told my dad. I loved him."

 

She's currently being watched for diabetes and euric crystals. Doctors may need to take one of her hooves if she doesn't turn her life around and rejoin her kingdom.
