So now that we have an image of Maud Pie, how do you guys think she's going to act? I think she's going to be very reserved and doesn't like to do anything socially.

Considering she has gummy on her head may turned out to be a freak like pinkie, ill tho at the start i get the impression shes gonna act like a "Im too good for this" then again that gummy scene confuses me xD

Clearly i'm thinking Maud will be a meta phore for some sort of intolerance.  I think we might get a serious foil for pinkie.

So what do you think she's close-minded to? Friendship? Parties? Fun stuff? She seemed happy in Pinkie Pride when Pinkie threw the party for them when they were younger. But being close-minded about making friends like Twilight was seems plausible.

Her look on her face looks like she's had enough of pinkie's shananagans. Maybe she'll act like the complete opposite of her and play a foil or turn out to be a jerk like Gilda.

Maud's a mary sue.

0 personality,

and over powered. 
I think the writer was trolling the fan base,

and I'll explain why.  Noelle Benvenuti managed to show full range of the main six more or less perfectly.

 

And still made up a character who's only purpose was to be unlikeable.

 

It's like kimi sparkles just bbecame canon.

I love hated this episode.

Seriously i've never seen a writer nail the main six so perfectly, and than still kinda find a way to much things up.

I know what your going to say,

when i say "i felt as uncomfortable as the main six (minus pinkie) around maud,

because "i was suppose to."

that doesn't make it good episode.

 

I can't justify liking maud objectively or subjectively.

I respect your opinion, but I am a fan of Kimi Sparkle and I don't think she and Maud have a single thing in common.

Kimi Sparkle is very.. odd, but more perky and happy and actually shows emotion while Maud doesn't.

1. Likeability is always subjective

2. Maud acts nothing like Kimi Sparkle

3. Maud is clearly flawed and therefore not a Mary Sue

4. She's not "OP" for having super-strength (see AJ, RD, Twi, and Pinkie for some "more OP" characters)

5. Maud's entire persona is dedicated to deadpan, dry humor while still being able to have touching moments thrown in, so giving her a robust personality would defeat the purpose of her character

The only thing I didn't like about the episode was that Maud was un realistically boring/unenthusiastic. As much as we like to think it possible, no one is literally that boring or unenthusiastic about anything. The only times we saw emotion from her were when pinkie was in trouble and even then it was a very calm emotion. It would have been so much better to see a very angry and or worried maud scolding pinkie for putting herself in danger. Other than that the episode was great. The part where pinkie deflates after the rest of her friends tell her they don't think they can be friends with Maud was heart wrenching and amazing. So far I might say this is in the top 5 episodes of this season.
