Thinking about how I should feel about the discovery I made today that one of my woodwind photographs ended up as line-art in one of those "adult" coloring books.

On one hand I'm happy that I contributed however indirectly to kind of maybe exposing a wider audience to my favorite instruments through one of my photographs (it's in a general coloring book with all kinds of other things). On the other hand I don't really know how to feel about me never having been communicated with by the author/illustrator.

I know this is the internet. I know my woodwind photos turn up everywhere, but I've only ever seen companies use them to advertise their products, not actually use them in a product.

Maybe I'm just being crazy, it is line-art, not the original. Obviously work was put into it that I did not do. I just feel like it would have been professional to contact me before doing that?

Lol. Well at the end of the day it's just a photograph I took and uploaded on deviantArt without a watermark or anything. I still feel like I should have been credited or at least asked.

I have only seen a screenshot of the book that someone shared on a FB group, so I don't actually have the book to see if I was credited so I don't know.

Well, it's possible that even if they credited you, because they're using your image for commercial reasons without permission, you might be entitled to financial compensation
