I think I may know why all of the animals have pony faces though.

 

Maybe Fluttershy thinks that if she can overcome her self-consciousness in front of animals wearing pony masks, then she will not be ashamed if she messes up during the big event?

Guys you everact sooooo much, haven't you ever seen an overly-size cow-pony that has the smallest wings, and it's a miracle he can even fly? I know I've come across 3 of those in my lifetime (example 1: My Mom)
