What supermarket chains are by where you live?

Just a random thought, what supermarket chains are by where you live?

For me, there is a Harris Teeter within walking distance. There is also a Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods within a 30-40 minute drive. There is also a Wegman's near where I used to live, but now it's a little bit further from where Iive.

There are none RIGHT beside me. But there are some nearby, those include K-Mart, Walgreen's (where my sister works) and Kroger (where my mother works). There is a lesser known shop, known as Coin Mart nearby that sells video games, movies, TV's, accessories, jewelry, cards, and CD's for fairly cheap prices.

Quite a come-and-go topic, but hey. I live in the UK and for me the nearest supermarket is a Sainsbury's. I can actually walk down the road to get fundamentals like bread and milk from either Costcutters or Budgens, both of which are food shops situated directly next to each other. Never thought that would work. But the staff people from each shop are actually friends with their competition :) It often makes for jokes.

Budgens is also the only food shop for miles that stocks Tango Cherry. So I am so grateful to have it nearby. n.n

There's a family fare not too far from my home, and a Mejier's, Walmart, and Target not too far down the highway. I typically shop at Mejier's, our Target has no grocery and Family Fare is expensive. There's also a K-mart downtown. Edit: So many stores I've never even heard of!

Where I live, there are Coles, Woolworths and Aldi supermarkets all over the place (there are six Coles near where I live: one with an Aldi at a little shopping center near my home, three at major shopping centers, and two by themselves) Supermarkets are pretty much everywhere in Australia.

Well, depends on what you call close.

The closest one is the Windixie its about 10 minutes away? Something like that.

Theres a Sam's like 30 minutes or so away.

Walmart is somewhere over there :P.

I can't really think of any others frankly. We mostly just go to Windixie and like Sams when we need.

In my immediate area...

• Winco

• Fred Meyer

• Safeway

A bit further out and you've got Costco and Walmart. A lot of people tend to be surprised when I tell them that I've never stepped foot in a Walmart store in all my life.

In town there's a Safeway, Save Mart (formerly Albertson's), K-Mart, Nob Hill and Target, with any given one being a 5-minute drive away. We're probably the only city in the whole tri-county area without a Walmart.

Now if only there were an S-Mart, I could finally start shopping smart...

Fareway (Iowa Chain)

Hyvee (Iowa Chain)

Target

Walmart

Iowa probably has the best grocery stores in the nation.

Any other place I've been too outside of Iowa are never as good. Also feedback from other people.

I know where those exist, and because of that I know where you live within a 100 mile or so radius

I live close to a Fresh N Easy, Stater Bros, and Albertsons. There is a Wal-mart down the road next to a target.

I live like 5 minutes away from a Publix(it is honestly the cleanest publix I've ever seen). Then there's a Walmart 10 minutes away. Then a Target about 20 minutes away from my house. That's all that I know of.

There's a Sav-A-Lot that's within walking distance, but I prefer to make the longer trek to Wal-Mart, which is about a mile and a half away from me. Everything else is just too far from me. :\

Plenty of Walmarts, H-E-Bs, Targets (if you consider it a supermarket), Whole Foods. Those are the big ones.

Albertson's

You don't see too many of those very more. At least in Texas.

Ah, but I think I have a better idea of where you might live - Stater Bros gives it away. That chain's fairly tightly clustered in So-Cal, particularly near LA. ;)

There are fewer and fewer of those near where I live as the years go on, 2 of the Stater Bros near me used to be Albertsons granted this was 20 years or so ago but still. More recently though this other Albertsons a bit closer to where I used to live is now this one Mexican market (I forget exactly what it was called).

The better question is, will I see you at Sac Brony Expo?

LOL, there are other places near me beside what I mentioned earlier. Big lots, Vons, and other place hiding behind restaurants.

...There's a brony convention in Sac? Sweet ass, man! That's just a 2 hour drive away...and here I was all mopey that I couldn't make it all the way across the country to BronyCon. I guess a simple Google search would've shown me some CA cons, but I'm not always the brightest tool in the box.

9/14...that's pretty close, but I'll try to see if I can make it. If so, then perhaps we will see each other there.

Back on topic - I just remembered that my Safeway used to be a K&S many, many years ago. Anypony else have/used to have a K&S in their neck of the woods?

Kroger and Walmart are the main 2 in town.  There really isn't another super-market in my town.  We used to have a Scotts, but that got taken out (sadly).

Abundant where I live in Center City, Philly are Fresh Grocers and down towards the bay Walmart. There's also a Trader Joe's or 2 nearby too. There's also Costco but that's waaaayy out in King of Prussia.

Also I live closeby the large and local Reading Terminal Market. A lot of Amish run the stands there and come out during the week for the farmers' market sales.
