  1. Also, docks are canon, whereas navels, which are on the list as of when this post was made, are not. In case you're wanting a source, see Ponyville Confidential (specifically after Snips and Snails haphazardly shaved themselves to free themselves from the bubble gum they were stuck in).
  2. They're called "hocks". They're basically the pony equivalent of ankles. I personally think hocks and dock should be included in the list. Also, the plural of hoof is "hooves", not "hoofs".
  3. R.I.P. Golden Oak Library. You will be dearly missed. At least dolphins and roller coasters are canon.

  5. Hey, I have one of those, too! Aren't they great?
  6. That basically sums up Hasbro's opinion on Twilight. One thing that bugs me about Season 4 is how the writers can't decide whether Twilight is famous or not. In this episode, everypony treats Twilight like a cerlebrity. Yet for some reason, when she was in Manehatten (just like those "famous celebrities" that Silver spoon mentioned) only seven episodes earlier, nopony recognized her.
  7. Calm down, guys. It was just a joke. It's the same thing as those Star Wars alternate endings.

There really seems to be no point to it, it could have been way worse but not addressing it is not the answer either. It seems like "hey look Twilight has wings and a fancy title" in the season 3 finale and season 4 premier but in the other episodes so far it is almost like it never even happened.

  10. A couple nights ago I had a nightmare in which I was watching a teaser trailer for Equestria Girls 2. It revolved around a royal wedding between princess Twilight and Flash Sentry (despite them hardly knowing each other). But as the princess walks down the aisle, a magical portal opens up underneath her, sending her to the Equestria Girls World. Basically, it was everything I didn't want to happen to MLP:FiM. I raged so hard that I woke up, and gave a sigh of relief when I realized that i...

      Sorry for the cutoff.

  11. That's my headcanon. Personally, I wish the animators could have used another guard or at least recolored Flash's model to prevent all the confusion. Any dialog between Flash and Twilight concerning the events in Equestria Girls would've made that movie canon, and I'd rather that movie not be canon. No! As much as I dislike the possibility of Flash sentry being Twilight's romantic interest, one of the few things that could possibly be worse would be if they needlessly tried to turn the show into forced pandering just to please some shipping fanfiction writers. The show is fine the way it is: A show for everyone. Being the main protagonist, Twilight Sparkle deserves far better than to be mindlessly paired with some generic cardboard cutout cute guy.
  12. Roller coasters are canon!

  13. Pinkie Pie has been spot on in the latest episodes. No over-the-top flugelhorn nonsense. Just Pinkie doing what she does best: Making other ponies smile. I'm also pleasantly surprised at the amount of backstory the writers gave Cheese Sandwich. I like all the callbacks to continuity in this episode, such as the brief appearance of Appleloosa in the beginning, and all the pictures in Pinkie's room (which she even narrated for us ). The songs fit in nicely without feeling rushed or overdone like they did in Magical Mystery Cure. It's not very often that a guest star sings! Pinkie's Lament is probably one of my favorite MLP:FiM songs yet. Epic windy mane sunlight shot! A lot of Derpy appearances in this episode as well. It seems she's improved her banner hanging skills since last time. Also, roller coasters are now canon! Even though the past couple of seasons haven't been the greatest, I'm still watching this show thanks to episodes like this.

  15. No! I do not think Twilight is a lesbian! I hate it when people treat their lame slash pairings as headcanon! Get over it, shippers! Your sappy fanfics do not qualify as official canon! Idiotic fanon aside, I'm honestly not totally against adding romantic interests to the show, even if it involves Twilight. But Flash Sentry? I don't have any reason to like him. His very existence in Equestria Girls was to be that "cute guy". And while I'm thankful that the stereotypical high school romance didn't take over the movie, that also meant that any character development Flash could have had was reduced a handful of instances in which they bumped into each other, which served no purpose in progressing the storyline, making him a useless character. There were only two instances in which the writers attempted to incorporate him into the main storyline. Neither of these were convincing. In the first instance, Twilight got sent to the principal's office because apparently everyone in the movie was too stupid to realize that the "evidence" was nothing more than a bunch of random photos that were cut out with scissors. Anybody could have realized that this was a fraud. As a result, I wasn't convinced that Flash Sentry was the only one who could have figured that out. Instead it just made everybody else look dumber rather than making Flash look smarter. The only other instance in which Flash was involved in the main storyline was the dance which served no purpose except to be a critical point in Sunset Shimmer's idiotic scheme. There was no reason why Sunset had to wait until the night of the dance to unleash "crown"'s power. If she had any sense knocked into her, she would've transformed herself the moment she obtained the "crown". Then there were moments where the writers didn't even try to develop Flash's character. For example, there was one brief mentioning of Flash Sentry being Sunset Shimmer's ex. There was no reason for this to be brought up at all, and as a result, it was never brought up again. Come on, writers! You're better than that! If you want to develop a character's personality and backstory, you do it through giving us opportunities to see how he or she handles a given situation related to the storyline. Flash Sentry had little to none of this. Almost all of his screentime was wasted with pointless, irrelevant subplots that often revolved around boring, forgettable clichés that you'd expect in any high school chick flick. One of the best things about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is that it's an adventure. You can't always be sure about what's going to happen next. Oftentimes the show takes what would normally be a boring, predictable storyline and turns it into something else. A lot of the the fandom's favorite episodes (such as Mare in the Moon, Winter Wrap Up, Green Isn't Your Color, Lesson Zero, and A Canterlot Wedding, to name a few) are all great examples of this. They turn an otherwise bland, cliché synopsis into something new and refreshing. The biggest problem with Flash Sentry, Sunset Shimmer, and the rest of Equestria Girls in general is that there's hardly any originality or noticeable effort to make it substantial and memorable. As a result, we're left with nothing but a mess of predictable clichés and forgettable characters that simply doesn't hold a candle to the show's roots. If Flash Sentry (or any other pointless and unrelatable character) were to become canon, that character's existence would be out of place as it would go against many of the things that make Friendship is Magic a great show. Not to mention, it would be extremely awkward having a character from outside the TV series become canon. Their only alternative to a mindless, nonsensical retcon would be to awkwardly reintroduce him or her despite that character's debut most likely becoming established canon as a result (which would be a big upset for me, as I would much rather acknowledge Equestria Girls as a non-canon spinoff due to the reasons I stated earlier). Like I've said before, I'm not against having romance in the series, as we already have a good amount of it with Spike and Rarity, Macintosh and Cheerilee, and obviously Shining Armor and Cadance. The problem I have with Flash Sentry is that there's no reason for his existence other than to introduce even more romance, with we already have plenty of. We don't need another romantic interest, especially when there's no plausible way to introduce him without messing so many things up. Besides, we're still trying to adjust to another radical change that took place not even one season ago (I'm looking at you, Twilicorn ). Throwing in another giant game changer this soon would be overkill. If it ain't broke, it don't need fixing.

  18. I'm glad they're finally developing more backstory to Scootaloo's inability to fly properly. It also seems that Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle are no longer feeling threatened by Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon (they acted more annoyed than insulted).
  19. I can't stand the sight of Twilight Sparkle being shipped with any of the rest of the Mane 6. It makes Twilight seem partial to some friends over others, thus ruining the balance of the cast.
  20. FlashLight is not canon! Equestria Girls was (hopefully) intended to be a non-canon spinoff. I honestly don't get the hype over the whole shipping thing. A good 85% of the pairings are just plain ridiculous (Twilight and Celestia?! Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash?! What's wrong with you guys?) and whole idea of taking two semi-random characters and forcing us to believe that they were always meant to be is one of the most (if not the most) uninteresting and unoriginal fanfiction ideas ever.
  21. Thank goodness there are still some people in this fandom who still have minds of their own. As a unicorn Twilight supporter myself, this pretty much sums up my initial thoughts on Magical Mystery Cure. I've accepted plenty of changes in this show, but this is not one of them. Has my opinion changed? Not in the slightest. if anything, my distaste for the whole alicorn princess Twilight ordeal has only intensified with the way she was handled in Equestria Girls (which already had enough problems of its own) and the unpromising previews Season 4. "Don't be so modest. It's everypony's dream to someday wear a crown and have their coronation ceremony preserved in stained glass for all to see." I don't know about everyone else, but that line seriously rubs me the wrong way. Also, what's up with the Element of Magic? It looks... well, different. Let me show you all a comparison to see what I mean. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? They changed the design of the Element of Magic just so that it would look more like a princess' crown! Why did they do that? They ruined even more continuity for one of the stupidest reasons conceivable! What was wrong with the original design? Not girly enough? Well then let's fix that why don't we! Let's retcon more than 2 years of well-established canon just so that we can better pander to stereotypes! *Facehoofing intensifies*

What's sad is that I can totally see most of the fandom reacting in this way, using it as proof for those who criticise the writers. -_- As for the "Don't be so modest" quote from the Hub card... Face? Meet palm.

I'm sure all the "true fans of the show" (a.k.a. Hasdrones) are drooling over how their stupid fanfics are coming to life. Well, at least it's just one scene rather than a whole episode (I hope).

I'm honestly dreading season 4. Part of me wants to stay the hell away from it and stick to fan fiction, but another part of me wants to give it a chance and try to like the series once more. Quite frankly, I'm leaning more towards the former with each passing day. =/

  23. If what I'm afraid might happen comes true, then that would be a change that I would be against. That's not to say that I dislike every change. There are plenty of changes to this show that haven't bothered me, such as the changes that were made to the original concept art of the cast. I prefer pegasus Fluttershy over earth pony Posy, Rainbow Dash over Firefly, earth pony Pinkie Pie over pegasus Surprise, Rarity over Sparkler, and Twilight Sparkle's newer color scheme over her original design. Although I do like how they base their parents' colors on those of their previous incarnations (Twilight' mother resembles both g4 Twilight Sparkle and g1 Twilight and Rainbow Dash's mother is rumored to resemble g1 Firefly). Not all changes are bad, but that doesn't mean every change is necessarily a good thing, either. The episode had many flaws, and a good portion of these were due to the fact that Hasbro wanted Twilight to be a princess despite Season 3 already being packed into 13 episodes and most of them already planned. Twilight becoming an alicorn princess is way to much of a game-changer to fit into a standalone 22 minute episode, let alone being shoehorned into the last ⅓ of an originally irrelevant episode.
