  1. Well, almost over anyway ! I'll pretty much have the same relieved facial expression as poor old Frodo here when I actually start watching the Season 4 opener! And I've only been waiting since August so I can't even begin to imagine how hard this must have been for some of you XD. I can barely contain my excitement! In fact I'm about to burst! Off to watch Magical Mystery Cure one last time to get myself up to speed before tomorrow rolls around !
  2. Age & Gender: 18, Male Who is your favorite MLP character and why: Rainbow Dash but to be honest even I am at a loss as to why. As I watched more and more episodes I just warmed up to her. She is very different from me in some ways and very similar in others. I really like Twilight Sparkle as well for the same reasons. We are different yet similar. Which character do you think of most as a "leader": Definitely Twilight Sparkle. She has been the main focus of the show so far, I think that much can be said for sure, and most of her character development was towards becoming a "Princess" or in other words a leader. Tell me what things you like best about the show as a whole: (ie the animation, the writing, the character depth, the stories, the humor, etc) What initially caught me off guard about this show is how intelligent and funny it was. Besides that, I love the characters, the stories (everything from slice of life stories to adventures). It just comes together so well! Many say the MLP fandom breaks gender and age norms/stereotypes and has brought people from different demographics together through their shared love for ponies. What is your experience with this?: I'm glad to see that this is happening. I've always been reluctant to join online communities but ever since I decided to join the brony community I've met some really awesome people and a few very close friends. I'm yet to have any kind of negative experience involving bronies. We have every kind of person here imaginable and it's great that a show helps bring people together to such a high degree. We help each other with problems, have intelligent conversations ,about any topic really, and people in the community create a lot of quality works. In some ways, this community has gone way beyond of just a few people getting together to discuss a show they like (not to downplay the merits of Friendship is Magic of course). It's starting to take up a life of it's own. Have you ever faced social adversity for being a MLP fan?: Not yet. In fact my experiences have been far more positive so far than I expected. I'm still a bit careful about reveling that I'm a brony to people but so far nobody said anything bad about it. Some people find it weird but that's to be expected. I did too before I checked out the show. Anything else?: I wish for your project to be a success, and I hope you stick around here after it's done !
  3. I might check this out when it hits theaters. It looks good but I have my doubts. Still, the idea and the things seen in the trailers are so "out there" that this should be watched just to see how they put all of this together and if they can pull it off well . I am skeptical but optimistic at the same time. This has the potential to be remarkably good or something not worthy of attention at all.
  4. It seems that Attack on Titan ,or Shingeki no Kyojin if you prefer the original title, has just recently exploded on the scene. Yet it is rapidly becoming a multimedia franchise with the original manga, videogames and even novels hitting western shores in the near future (not to mention the imminent DVD and Blu-Ray release and the live action movie in the works). But what is the reason for it’s swiftly garnered popularity? This series paints a bleak picture of the future of humanity. A future where we were almost hunted to extinction by a „giant like” race called Titans. Not much is known about the new natural predators of humanity. They don’t seem to be very intelligent and their only goal seems to be the endless consumption of human flesh. To protect themselves the surviving population retreated behind three gigantic walls and has lived there in peace for over a 100 years. The story revolves around there main characters called Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Alert as they live their simple lives behind the walls. The tale Attack on Titan tells holds many twists and surprises. Some predictable but most of them are impactful and well executed. It’s characters are not particularly deep but they are all releatable and likeable. As the series progresses the viewer starts feeling real comradery amongst them and fears for their well being as they go through many hardships. For in this series all of their lives are in constant danger. The society, this story presents, is highly militaristic. It’s military split into three core groups one tasked with protecting and repairing the walls, one tasked with upholding peace far behind them and one tasked with making excursions on the outside for resources and information. Some may find this a social, political statement but ,no matter what one may think, it gives a certain feeling of uniqueness to this world and the views of it’s inhabitants. Attack on Titan is a tightly written story. It dispenses with most of the melodrama and filler that seems to characterize a lot of anime. Most scenes have a clear point and relevance in the story, setting up information about characters, build up for later plot points and character development and so on. It still retains that distinctly Japanese feel however (whether you find that good or bad my dear reader I’ll leave it up to you). It explores it’s character’s emotional state well, without it overstaying it’s welcome, themes of hopelessness and desperate attempts to fight back against an overwhelming force. It also looks into the way humans treat each other in a world where their existence is threatened everyday. How they might cope with this and how much they’d work together. The animation of this series is stellar. There are quite a few „wow” inducing moments to be seen here as we watch these gigantic creatures and the ones who oppose them in action. The characters express just as much with their movements and body language and facial expressions as with their words. The action scenes are fast, huge scale and brutal. Every suffered wound feels real and every blow has earth (or more often building) shattering impact. It really is worth the price of admission just for that. This series is an exceptionally well done effort. Enjoyable for everyone, even for those who don’t enjoy anime otherwise. It’s themes and characters are adequately explored and it’s story is exciting and holds quite a few surprises. At the end of Season 1, the current end of the series, we ended on a cliffhanger with many unanswered questions ,yet a still somewhat satisfying resolution. It’ll be interesting to experience where this story progresses and to see light shed on some of it’s mysteries. A truly remarkable anime deserving it’s popularity. Give it a chance and you might just find yourself swept away in this world of Titans!
  5. Beating Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (one of the hardest RPGs I've ever played) for the first time and getting the most epic ending. Also, making it to the end of the last wave of the Horde mode of Gears of War 3 with just one other person. There are probably the moments where I had the biggest feeling of accomplishment in gaming ! Oh, and beating the last Colossus in Shadow of the Colossus was indescribably awesome too!
  6. Well, I think there will be some changes by the way strangers treat her and ponies she knows a bit less treat her. But definitely not her friends. Bonds are stronger than titles . Also, I can see villains and antagonists taking her a bit more seriously and viewing her as a bigger threat from now on.
  7. If Equestria Girls was to get a sequel I wouldn't mind if they did this. It sounds quite interesting in fact. Otherwise I'd prefer humans kept as far away from Friendship is Magic as possible. Then again if EQG was to get a sequel ,from Hasbro's point of view, it'd be to promote another set of dolls so I'm not sure they'd do this.
  8. I love the Silent Hill series! I haven't had the chance to play all the games but I did play SH 2, 3, Origins, Shattered Memories, Homecoming. I loved all of them with the exception of Homecoming (still enjoyed it but to a lesser degree). Very suspenseful, weird games with a unique atmosphere and well written stories. Stories that will make you think. I'd like to give a chance to Downpour and SH4 sometime but I heard they are a bit different from the rest of them. Then again Shattered Memories is nothing like other Silent Hill games either.
  9. Usually, when I say "in my opinion" it is because I'm I'm a bit insecure or unsure how people will react to what I have to say. I don't use it to avoid having to justify my arguments I use it to introduce something into a conversation which could make somebody react one way or another. I don't state it as fact so I wouldn't offend anyone, instead I say in my opinion to let people understand that that's the way I think and I'm perfectly fine if they disagree with me and would happily hear their reasons. Guess the meaning of this phrase depends a lot on the context and the intention behind it.
  10. Yeah, I think he is pretty much becoming a supporting character like Luna. Which is a great way to have him more in the show in my opinion. I could live with a few more "villainous Discord episodes" but this isn't a bad change. I hope him and Luna will be focused on a bit more in Season 4.
  11. You are welcome anytime ! We'll continue Asylum soon I promise. As for the wait for Season 4: I want it and I want it now!
  12. Anime seems to be a great motivating factor and source of knowledge for Japanese it seems ! I'd like to learn it too because of anime and to be able to play videogames which didn't make it overseas for one reason or another.
  13. Ah, the 80s Transformers movie! If only the Michael Bay movies were this awesome. That soundtrack. I need to watch this again. Never seen the show itself but I love the movie.
  14. Well besides English and Hungarian (the two languages I speak well) I really like Japanese. Would like to learn it sometime. And I might be a minority on this but I really like the way German sounds. I'm learning German right now and I find it really hard and confusing but I'm enjoying it!
  15. Hello and welcome to the forum FireHazzardLady ! If you wanna talk to someone feel free to write to me anytime! Hope you have a lot of fun here!
  16. Depends on what they do and how well they pull it off. I'd definitely give it a go though as long as it doesn't really involve killing off a character or something like that. Even that could be done well but it would feel out of place for me.
  17. I second that! That's a great idea. Every adversary getting redeemed would get really boring after a while. This is a bit deeper than that and if executed well it could even make for an interesting dynamic between Gilda and RD if they decide to involve Gilda in future episodes. The show should show us more Gryphons too. Maybe even their homeland! Just don't characterize all of them after Gilda. Don't make them all be upstuck assholes. That would be one dimensional and disappointing.
  18. I have only played the original Dead Rising but I liked that one! I enjoyed how free I was to tackle objectives and side missions and pretty much do whatever I want within the time given to me. Felt very organic that way. The controls are okay for the most part. Except for shooting and throwing objects. That was horribly done. The story is nothing much to talk about. It's there it gives context to what happens and it's just not worth mentioning beyond that. The psychopaths (bosses) are fun but I didn't really find anything really cool about them. Still, they bring little personality to the game and that's always great. Most people seem to dislike the time limit. I didn't. I think it added another element to the game which helped shaped the events withing the story, made situations actually feel urgent (because if you didn't act in time it could have fatal consequences for some people) and another element of management. Again, giving the game a more organic feel. All in all, despite it's faults I enjoyed Dead Rising. I wouldn't call it a classic but it's a lot of fun.
  19. I'm really excited! I've been waiting for that to happen for months now! And with the Doctor Who Anniversary special coming the same day it will be really awesome! I made sure to clear that day in advance so I could devote it to two of my favorite shows! My face will most likely look like this when November 23rd rolls around:
  20. Well to be honest I curse a lot too. It just comes naturally sometimes even if I try to avoid it. Still, I nothing as bad as the girl mentioned. I can see why that could be annoying. Especially since there is a girl kinda like that in my class. She doesn't curse that much but she starts shouting for the smallest of things sometimes and (not to be impolite but) she can get on my nerves.
  21. This is a religion I have recently discovered but I'm very interested in. A few years ago I had kind of a "crisis of faith" (to clarify I'm not religious and I wasn't at that time either) where I did a lot of research on different religions to see if any fits. But none of them felt right to me. But this kinda does for some reason I can't really describe. I think it's time to look into it a bit more.
  22. Well, I can name two off the top of my head: Trapt I originally bought this game just because I heard it was rare and I really enjoy collecting PS2 games. I heard it wasn't a very good game so I was caught off guard by how unique the gameplay is. Sure the story falls into the so bad it's awesome category (especially those little last comments from your enemies before their deaths. Oh god, those were funny ) but the game is well worth the price of admission. Persona 3 Portable I was expecting to find a good game in this case but never imagined P3P would become pretty much my favorite game of all time. The story, characters and gameplay come together so well they make this an experience nobody should miss. It was life changing for me and I rarely say that about works of fiction.
  23. I have no idea why but last week I was wondering what this song would sound like ponified so I think it would be pretty cool if you did this . Maybe there are better candidates but this is my suggestion!
  24. This definitely isn't something that would tear us apart I think. Though from the way some reacted to Alicorn Twilight and the whole love interest thing in Equestria Girls I can't be sure of that. Hasbro would never greenlight something like this of course and it would be really out of tone for MLP but since a lot of us watch this show to see these characters and different issues explored (as well as the fun slice of life and occasional adventure element) this would be something interesting to see. I can't judge the reaction of the fandom but I think most of us would come to terms with it eventually if it was pulled of well.
