What's so great about growing up? Is it inevitable?

I am 18 and so far I hate being an adult. When I was younger I couldn't wait to be out of school, but as soon as I started looking at colleges I realized that the one thing I wanted more than anything was to stay in school and for life to continue the same way forever. I sort of look forward to graduating college so I can get a dog, but... That's basically the only reason. I hate being an "adult". I hate the freedom. I hate the independence. I've always been a scaredy cat but now everytime I see something bad on the news like a murder or robbery my brain translates every strange noise into someone breaking in. I'm still a kid at heart and probably always will be. My friends and I were the group that didn't quite fit in with the other students so we will probably never fully grow up but... I don't really know. Thinking about the future just kinda makes me depressed because I can't really see how I will survive in the "real world".- 85 replies

Aww, thank you so much! >///< For these drawings I've been solely working in GIMP. I sketch the outline in one layer and then do each individual color in its own layer.

I really have no idea what I am. At least most of the time I just don't find humans attractive at all. If I actually put my mind to it I can think of some people as attractive, but most of the time people are just people to me. For a very brief time I kind of had a crush type thing on one of my summer camp councilors about two years age. (She was probably in her early 20s and I was 17.) But that wore off after about two weeks. I guess I might be asexual? I really don't know. I don't actually like people that much and would rather just be alone with animals and close friends instead of actually getting married to someone. -

I have dirty blonde hair, which was golden when I was younger and... I think hazel eyes. I can never really tell with my eyes because their a funny brown/orange/green color that doesn't quite fit under any of the normal colors. -
gaming Favorite Pokemon and Pokemon Game

Hmmm.... Favorite Pokemon game.... That's really hard. Sapphire was my favorite for quite a long time because that was around the time that I really got into Pokemon even though my first game was Red and then Silver. However, I really like SS too. My favorite part being that your Pokemon would follow you around. But then White happened and oh god I love N. And now I have White2 and I'm loving it so far too even though I haven't gotten that far in the plot yet. (I just beat Burgh at Castelia City.) So I really don't really know. I liked Pearl and Platinum, but they weren't my favorites... I guess I currently lmy favorites are White/White2 and then Sapphire/SS. My favorite Pokemon are Mantyke and Mantine because, stingrays you guys! I love stingrays. A lot. Basically my favorite animal. Edit: With the other Pokemon games I absolutely adore the Ranger ones. They are quite likely some of my favorite games ever and I hope that they make more. -

When I'm in public and in a hurry, I only step on the balls of my feet and, because I have short legs, use every step . When I'm at home I just run up the stairs on all fours. I don't know when I started doing that, but it's a lot faster and easier fo me that way. Once I accidently went on all fours in school, but, luckily, I was alone so I didn't get any weird looks.

Thanks! I initially tried drawing on my tablet, but that completely failed. I couldn't get enough pressure on the pen without it flying everywhere. It was a lot of effort and trying different grips. Using the side teeth keep the pencil much steadier and give you more control over where it goes.

I am currently playing Pokemon White2 and Pheonix Wright: Ace Attourney. When I get home from college I will continue playing Portal, but that's on the main computer at home. -
First of all, I shall explain what Pony Drawing Style is. Pony Drawing Style is when you draw like a pony (Not unicorn!) does. Take a pencil in your mouth and draw! I'm very happy with how Fluttershy turned out. Especially her wings. I was certain that I would completely mess up on them, but they turned out quite nice.

I have a collection of plastic cats. I can't remember the exact number, but I have somewhere around 300. I really wish I could remember... I only counted them a month or two ago when I put them away in a bin after years of leaving them set up to play Warriors in the hopes I would continue playing someday... Okay... Things I don't like that everyone else likes... Hmmm... Coffee, alcohol, fish, miso soup, perfume, make up, Phineas & Ferb, Spongebob, Reality TV, horror movies, sports, children, sleeping, rap music, Pewdiepie, politics, the news, drama, and mint. That's all I can think of at the moment... -
I love Halloween and Trick-or-Treating! I went last year, but, sadly, don't think I will be now that I'm in college. My college is so far in the middle of nowhere that I don't think there is a good area to go. It would just be hours of walking down the road to get to about three houses which may not even be giving out candy. I'll probably decorate the dorm and hand out candy to the kids who go around though.

Gah! I LOVE DDR! It's one of my favorite Wii games! It's a lot more fun to play now that I have a metal mat, more like the arcade ones, but thinner, instead of the flimsy, fold-up fabric-y ones. There aren't many arcades around where I live, so home is one of the only places I can play. I was fairly good last time I played. (Well, I could beat most songs on Expert on my first attempt, but I'm not as good as a lot of people I've seen.)
