Being on deviantart for 10yrs, I here so many young artists say 'if I only had a tablet' or 'if only I had photoshop, I'd be a great artist'--if you can't draw a dog in real life, you wont be able to draw a dog magically perfectly just because you have a tablet, or photoshop. There are people that draw amazing art with nothing but a mouse, and MS Paint, because they practice, and try and use what they have to the best of their abilities. A good art program is nice, as is a good tablet, or decent real life supplies, or etc, but your skill is worth far more than any of that.

I think some people assume that you need something more expensive to draw good art, but actually, it's your personal skill, and a decent art program that matters more (I use Gimp and Sai). I think that the Bamboo fun is a good one to start because it's cheap, and from a reliable company, also, if you learn to deal with the hypersensitivity issues, it'll make working on future tablets easier since you know the little tricks. Note to all tablet users, sometimes Gimp 2.8 doesn't work with some tablets, so use 2.6 instead.

People are always cramming this stuff on every social network I'm on with cutesy little cartoon angels and crap with stupid prayers about loving America, or prayer chains. Here's an idea, how about stop praying, and instead get up off your ass and actually do something to help. -Steven Universe It's just ok, I could watch it if I was bored, but I'd rather watch a MLP rerun if I had a choice.

I have a Bamboo Fun, it's about $200. http://101.wacom.com/bamboo/bamboo_fun.php I have a sheet of tracing paper cut to fit the sensor part, so that the pen wont damage my tablet over time. The sensor is fine and pick ups great. It's a good tablet to start with, although it can be a bit hypersensitive.

I use gimp, I set my ink pen to 1.0, speed 3. I use the path tool and set it along the lines, Instead of the default setting, I use 'Stroke path with paint tool' and set it to my ink pen and 'emulate brush dynamics'. This gives my line a smooth appearance, but tapers it at the end like a real pen. If you don't want to taper, remove the emulate brush dynamics. The speed can be increased in number to create a thinner line. The best thing you can do, is fiddle with the settings to what you want. I make a layer just for line art, so my original image isn't contaminated. This technique is available in Photoshop too, as Gimp and PS are very similar.

Well, I've had one hell of a time since I was last on here. My life sort of exploded in my face, and it was messy. I finally got my car, it's registered, and I'm saving money up to get my muffler fixed. I'm also sewing custom seat covers for it with MLP fabric. I call it my chaos mobile, because it's a mess on the outside, but it's fun on the instead. My best friend and I had a bit of a fight concerning getting my car, and we weren't talking for a few weeks, because I disliked how he had spoken about my mother. I ended up apologizing because it turned out he was right about not trusting her, and her not really understanding me. Then I had a cancer scare, had to run tests, had a minor surgery to implant some hormones into my uterus, and luckily it came back that it wasn't cancer, but they are keeping an eye on it. I'm still having some on going pain due to a couple cysts, but that should feel better in a few months. My Mother had gone to Alaska to meet her boyfriend, I was pretty upset with her because I was concerned for her safety, meeting a stranger in a state where people routinely go missing and never appearing again, with miles of wildness between towns so tiny you can drive right past them and never know they were there. I've been to Alaska before, it's beautiful, but it is dangerous. If the bears don't eat you, then you could just go missing because of some crazy person. Well, 10 days after she initially got there, she called to tell me she had gotten married, and I've been dealing with the shit storm of fights with my mother, and frankly, her editing and misconstruing my language and intentions towards her. Getting her to empathize as to why I'd be upset has caused a serious battle between us that has really torn us apart. I'm still trying to figure out where I'll be living and what's going on as I wont be moving to Alaska with them. All I can really do right now is focus on my work because I know that my interaction with my mother cannot be the same and I need money to start moving on with my life. Dealing with this has really put into light the knowledge that I simply can't trust her with information like I thought I could, and that she really doesn't see me as an ally, but instead as a jealous, immature girl out to seek revenge against her. Frankly, it's laughable, given anyone that knows me that hears that scoffs and says 'are we talking about the same person'. I realized I couldn't trust her to keep things secret when she told her husband, a man I barely know and have never met, about my cancer scare last month. He's perfectly nice, my anger is mostly at her for her telling him. So, I'm just focusing on work right now. I opened up my Patreon account, so I hope you check that out. I'm still training myself to draw my OC precisely every time, so some of my pictures aren't great. Mine is Tiamat, a draconequus. She's a young draconequus, only a couple hundred years, so her magic is still immature. She's fun, and mischievous, and very playful. She's very catlike in her behavior and attitude. She wears her hair in dreadlocks as it's easy for her to care for, and doesn't get tangled when flying. Her favorite food is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches- which she was introduced to my Fluttershy, and she drops by Fluttershy's house every day for a sandwich, but also because she's been rather lonely since coming to Equestria, and likes the company. She enjoys napping in warm sunny spots, and in trees. Her initial meeting with the mane 6 involved them chasing her for hours because she stole Spike with the intent to eat him. It wasn't until Fluttershy told her how special he was to Twilight, and offered to trade her a sandwich, that Tiamat finally let Spike go. My friend and I got into all sorts of shenanigans. His little sisters were absolute shits, so we'd try stuff out of them. Like we told them the creepy crawlers we made were actually gummies, and they ate like 10 of them and then threw up all over. We found some rope in his garage, and convinced one of his sisters to let up tie the rope as a makeshift harness, and lower her mission impossible style from the upstairs deck, and his mom was screaming at us when she saw her, and my mom couldn't stop laughing. We also used all of his moms decorative expensive tape using it to make silly faces. Also, There was a guy that use to speed up and down the street my friend lived one, and we were concerned he hit one of the little kids on the street or in front of his house because his mom had a day care. So we took his sisters old lifesize barbie, and when the guy sped down the street, we screamed and threw it in front of his car. Scared the shit of him, we got a warning, but the police more screamed at the guy speeding because he'd been warned before. One summer we were convinced we were going to become jedi, so we ran around dressed like Obiwan and Qui-Gon Jinn, and carried our lightsabers with us everywhere. We got pretty damn good with those things, even if we did beat each other black and blue practicing.

I love found footage and mockumentaries. I'm really into scifi and monster movies, so adding a bit of realism to it makes me love it all the more. I'll gladly sacrifice film quality for being scared or excited when seeing a film. My favorite film is District 9, I love the whole feel of it, part mockumentary, part footage, and part regular cinema- it's great. Fourth Kind scared the shit out of me though, alien abduction scares the bejeezus out of me in general. There are lots of good found footage films, but there are a lot of stinkers for sure.
