Would be interesting if there was a villain that twists things around and causes the conflict between Twilight and Celestia. (no, not Discord but more of a manipulative villain from the darkness that just sits back and crazily laughs at how he/she caused others to turn against each other and causes conflict. A villain that twists things around when needed and knows what to say that incites the darkness within one's heart)

What do you want the S10 pony comics to cover?
nightshroud96 replied to Steve Piranha's topic in Official MLP Comics & Books
I am hoping quite a bunch of things honestly. Such as doing the royal sisters much better justice, at least for Luna. Since honestly with how things went for them in the finale felt sort of like a pretty bad sendoff for them. It just felt like they were done pretty dirty Maybe bring back Nightmare Moon, like Luna being exposed to Grogar's bell somehow infected her with a bit of his dark magic that reawaken/ her darker self and dark powers(now stronger than ever) and she has to learn to control her darkness within(like firing a rainbow at her will not work anymore). Explore Spike's origins. at least explain how did his egg ended up with the ponies. Eggs of sapient beings don't just randomly appear out of thin air for ponies to use. Explore the royal sisters' backstories more and explain why are there so few actual alicorns out there. Maybe Grogar being responsible somehow for the alicorns nearly being wiped out or something. Reintroduce the Rainbow of Darkness that G1 had. Would love to see how G4's depiction of it look. Show consequences for the fact the royal sisters retired(such as some ponies not liking that fact. Its pretty iffy that not a single pony minds the sisters just retiring, especially Luna's case since she didn't rule for much long). More consequences on what Discord's plan had done and make him realize he did more damage than he realize. Have Chrysalis reform or at least not be stuck as a statue. She's a good villain but I rather have her reform than suffer a fate worse than death or so. -
The thing is Spike didn't get to be a big hero in any of the finales iirc. Really, it looked like things were turning around for Spike with how season 6 was handling him but it fell flat on its face with how he got shafted in the finale like that. As for Luna, she(nor Celestia) didn't really get to be a big hero much in any of the finales(specifically ones where a major crisis is happening) either(with either getting captured or unable to be involved somehow). And technically she is an underdog in a way due to how she's the little sister and how often she's basically in Celestia's shadow in a way(and ruled nowhere near as long as Celestia did due to missing 1000 years. Who knows what Celestia did in those 1000 years with threats, its gotta be Luna's turn to pick up the burden there in a way.) Now that I think about it, this could have been Luna's chance to redeem herself for that issue the season 2 finale did with apparently she freaking slept through when the changelings attacked the wedding(and Celestia was in danger big time. Her freaking sister got defeated and yet Luna slept through the whole thing).

It depends on how the writers handle Spike(and well.. actually let him do stuff instead of making him "just support") Also him being there would have motivate Thorax to help out anyway since Spike's friends are in danger, pretty much he will be more motivation for Thorax anyway(and eventually Chrysalis is going to do something about him for leaving the hive so he can't just keep running forever, he have to face the problem that is involved with the changelings sooner or later. Even if Chrysalis doesn't care enough to look for him, the other drones will most likely do something to him anyway if they do end up finding him during Chrysalis's attempts to take over everything.). I am pretty sure Starlight would have an opportunity anyway even if Luna is acting as a natural leader, it just depends on how the writers handle it all.
-
For me, it would be what if Spike was the one who assembles the rescue team in To Where And Back Again instead of getting captured. I mean, HE was the one who befriended Thorax, but instead I felt like he got robbed here.. If it was important for Starlight's development, it wouldn't have killed the writers if they had him AND Starlight assemble the team and together encourage Thorax during the confrontation against Chrysalis. Heck, have Luna be in the team too instead of just sending a warning to Starlight and apparently getting captured too somehow(if the changelings got the others due to them sleeping, then its iffy for Luna's case since she was flipping awake at night. Really.. the whole "everyone else gets nabbed by Chrysalis somehow" bit of that finale wasn't executed right at least..).

Spike's Taking Twilight's Place?
nightshroud96 replied to FlareGun45's topic in Official MLP Comics & Books
Hopefully it also means the royal sisters can get to be more involved during big crisis stuff without worrying about their duties preventing them from helping. Heck, it will be ironic if the issues that often plague the sisters during crisis stuff ends up affecting Twilight now due she is now ruler of Equestria. Issues such as either not getting to be involved or just captured/defeated by something. Those issues. Infact, did the interview mention anything for the sisters? -
MLP season 10 first issue revealed
nightshroud96 replied to Rushing cash's topic in Official MLP Comics & Books
I hope it has something in store for the royal sisters(what happened for those 2 in the finale was.. disappointing). Hopefully for Spike too like his origins, since dragon eggs can't just randomly pop up from thin air into the possession of ponies. Also hoping it doesn't bring up.. iffy stuff the comics had done like Cosmos.. -
Write your own Season 10 synopsis leak!

I would like to post a few more. (Shame nobody else got anything to post at the moment) Probably should have mentioned that these episode thoughts might or might not be in order. Blinded By Friendship: During Cozy Glow's attack on the factory and using a strange throwable device that unleashed a very bright flash of light to cover her escape, Occellus' eyes ended up getting blinded badly by it. Her friends help her cope with this and the fact she might be blinded for good. For Which The Bewitching Bell Tolls: During a another bizarre event at night resulting in the Bewitching Bell to be missing once more, Equestria will be thrown into turmoil when it discovers a ancient evil has unexpectedly return and has reclaimed whats rightfully his. The Day The Moon Stood Still: As Twilight performs her new duties of raising the sun and moon, she finds out its getting harder and harder to raise and lower the moon. Then things turn into a crisis when she finds out the moon will now not move from its spot and Equestria, especially Luna, gets some unexpected visitors from within the moon.. the Nightmare Forces. Metallic Dismay: Many places in Equestria began randomly receiving attacks from unknown creatures made out of entirely out of metal and wielding strange weaponry and items similar to what Cozy Glow was using. As the heroes investigate where are they coming from, they find out something shocking of where its from.. the human world. Mirror On The Wall, Who's The Most Pinkie Pie Of Them All?: Pinkie Pie gets a harsh blast from the past when she encounters one of the surviving mirror clones she made, then things turn worst when someone has unleashed the Pinkie Pie clones that were sealed back into the Mirror Lake to wreck havoc on Ponyville and Canterlot. Breaking Day: Celestia begins to act strangely recently especially towards Luna. Discord fears that while Grogar's Bell might have been partially responsible for Luna regaining Nightmare Moon, it might have done something to Celestia. Darkness At The End Of The Rainbow - Part 1: Grogar with his newly assembled league of villains began to investigate a ancient legend of a powerful darkness, Luna began to have nightmares of this legend too and the heroes discover something that might be connected... the Rainbow of Darkness. Darkness At The End Of The Rainbow - Part 2: As the heroes race against Grogar's legion in finding out the whereabouts of the Rainbow of Darkness and of its history, a huge wrench is thrown into everyone's plans as the organization Cozy Glow was aligned with makes their move and unleash havoc. -
Who is the most powerful character?
nightshroud96 replied to Drunkfrank's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Honestly they need to properly explain/explore the limits of Discord's power. Like what it can't do or how it can be beaten/countered(at least so he won't break the story into two with a literal snap of his fingers) without outright nullifying it with a anti-magic thing(like Chrysalis's throne) or the EoH. -
Wonder what was her original vision for Luna too aside from the NMM bit? Thought it was since NMM lost her power, whatever magic or something she used to keep Celestia out of the picture broke and she came back. That or she managed to broke out and arrived just in time when NMM got blasted back into being Luna.
-
Since I think Faust or someone(I don't remember who) said the Stars bit was meant to add mystery before this answer came up years later, its possible Faust didn't thought of it until much later and probably came up with that bit. Kind if disappointed if the Stars bit really was Celestia's doing, rather prefer its NMM's own power or its the stars themselves believing NMM should be freed(like her sorrow eventually affected the stars or something). Heck, it could have been a story that those 4 specific stars became artifacts that Luna has to find before disaster happens.
-
So Celestia was the one who freed NMM? That.. really bothers me. So NMM could have been trapped on the moon for good, a 1000 years that was deliberately chosen instead of just the spell wore off or NMM's power broke free at least. I feel like it also screwed with NMM's threat. And also in hindsight it makes Celestia look iffy since Discord pulled that iffy plan of his. Celestia(till this revelation) didn't deliberately free/bring back villains who weren't a threat anymore to help Twilight develop.

It could be its only a matter of time before she begins to crack. A villain could just give a simple push with the right know-how and it could all spill out and disaster happens. A person can only bottle things up/keep it underwraps for so long before he/she cracks, and its not healthy anyway to do it for so long. Theres so much potential with the royal sisters such as their inner conflicts and other potential like with Chrysalis, its stings pretty badly it wasn't used to the fullest(or at least enough) -

To me Celestia seems someone who would bottle things up. Like keeping stuff underwraps on what she actually feels especially infront of others at times. Such as she might be level headed at times but deep down there might be something is going on. In fact I remember when one of the few times she nearly lost her cool was when Discord came clean about his Grogar plan. Deep down within her at that moment it would probably be even uglier and more furious at what he had pulled. -

Daybreaker could still happen. Like a villain that causes Celestia to snap by taking advantage of what issues she might have within and then unleashing the destructive persona from Celestia onto Equestria, possible in hopes of tearing the royal sisters' bond further. It would be pretty emotional seeing Luna seeing her sister now going out of control and having to stop her, now things coming full circle. In fact they could say Celestia nearly became Daybreaker at some point during the 1000 years gap due to her guilt of what happened to Luna and also bitterness towards herself(for not being there for Luna and allowing her to fall into darkness) and bitterness at the citizens for not appreciating Luna enough(which caused this whole mess) along with the stress of having to rule alone for a 1000 years without Luna. -

Nightmare Moon for me since how much potential she had, being Luna's dark form and kicking the show off with her/Luna's story in the book opening. And also her motive due to she isn't bringing Eternal Night not because "I'm evil and because darkness", she just wanted her night to be appreciated/acknowledged too. (Chrysalis being a runner-up as well) Daybreaker for minor antagonists for me too due to being Celestia's (theoretical) powered form if she were to snapped too and also being all sassy. (Shame she didn't happen for real outside of someone's nightmare or fear-spell hallucination) -
They could just say the Elements can't destroy the personality but only lock it away within Luna's mind. It looked more like NMM was "passively" controlling her and when that got locked away, Luna ended up realizing what she had done and was consumed with guilty and remorseful. In fact that might be a side-effect of the Elements if NMM returns, she is now a full split personality. Would be a interesting plotline and show how light and darkness must co-exist, not at each others' throats and rejecting each other all the time. Rather than running away and rejecting the darkness's existence, one must face it and accept its existence and determine one's future. It would have been so interesting instead of just "light is always good, darkness is always evil" stuff. I would love to see more of NMM's personality showing maybe she "cares" for Luna if the two interacted for real, since NMM was spawned from Luna's pain/sadness and jealously and her desire to be loved and accepted. Stuff like that. From the looks of the alternate future it does show life flourishing normally, she most likely thought things through since she wanted the night to last forever so she and her night would get the same amount of love Celestia and her day had gotten. It would be redundant if her night ends up causing suffering and death to the subjects, so I liked how she wanted to bring darkness for not because "just evulz" but she wanted said darkness to be loved equally as the light(day). I can see while NMM doesn't want to kill her potential adoring subjects and wanted acceptance from them, she would show no mercy to the threats that would endanger her citizens. I can just see many of the villains(like Tirek) that do popped up during the few years since she came back, they end up meeting terrible fates for threatening her subjects. I can see if Daybreaker happened for real than just being someone's hallucination/nightmare, she might be a mix of both that joyful/upbeat/sassy personality(showing how its Celestia's inner self going wild. Like her wild side is unleashed and not caring how "un-princess" it is) and that like a powerful force of anger and fury. Like all her bottled up anger and negative emotions unleashed and wanting to burn everything and also embodying RAW power that is let loose onto the world. In fact it would be interesting if Daybreaker already exists within Celestia due to her guilt from what happened to Luna and the stress of ruling a 1000 years alone, but is essentially her own Tantabus at the moment. Berating and insulting her deep within her mind for her shortcomings and failures. Would have been an interesting plotline. Maybe even Grogar(the real one) popping up and using this to his advantage
-
Really it pretty much bothers me that it happened off-screen. Wished things could have gone differently honestly. Like a compromise on how Luna can still be with Celestia after she retires but also still on the throne to make up for the 1000 years she lost. Or at least not give up being the dream guardian and raising the moon part. They could have let the sisters keep the job of raising and lowering the sun and moon. As for NMM, I wished they say Luna was meant to have dark powers(like Celestia representing Light, Luna representing Darkness. Balance stuff). Maybe they say NMM still exists within her no matter how many magic friendship rainbows of doom at her and can still return(in fact I remember Faust saying Luna can turn back into NMM if she is consumed with negative emotions like jealously again). Maybe conflicts like NMM's voice speaking to her at dire times and Luna trying to resist giving in. Eventually through stuff she ends up persuading NMM to help her and accepting NMM in the process, allowing her to use these dark powers and show how darkness isn't ALWAYS evil. Maybe even exploring NMM's personality more than she's just laughing evilly and trying to bring eternal night. I can see Daybreaker can spawn from Celestia's guilt from what happened to Luna and also her pent up emotions. To me, Celestia gives off the feel that she is bottling things up too. Like she is keeping up this "majestic royalty" mask she has to keep up.
