  1. Oh, hello Rarietty, I'd like to publicly ask you why you brohoofed my post just recently on page 3. Was it the comparison of the show to Pound Puppies, or was it the part where I liked the Biskit Twins disguised as cats? Funny thing is, this show is so new that even the image search results of the whole Internet aren't drawing up many results for the Biskit twins.
  2. I watched the first two episodes. Something that bothers me about the premise is, similar to Pound Puppies, the story hinges on the pets not getting new owners and just staying there forever. In Pound Puppies it is especially bothersome because the main characters are actively trying to get other dogs adopted, but not themselves? My favorite part of the show so far is when the Biskit Twins MILDSPOILER MILD SPOILER MILD SPOILER Disguise themselves as cats. For some odd reason, I found it super-cute with them decked out in catgirl facepaint and ears. They were actually disguised as "icky cats". And I am not into that kind of stuff.
  3. Not old enough to confuse oneself for a godlike being for which the rules do not apply. poniesforfun didn't even properly explain what is meant by "Old = evil, young = good." But it was some sort of comparison between princess and queen. Reminds me that there should be more malevolent princess characters in fiction.
  4. Splinter and Master Roshi aren't 1,000 years old. In many modern fantasy tales, beings who have lived through such a long time period tend to lose touch with humanity or relating to the lives of mortal beings. That's why a lot of vampires are depicted as resenting humanity, because the times change so fast for them.
  5. Ooh, I definitely like bragging about how selective I am about following the media, and not being a gossip nerd who just needs to get into everything! Things I will probably never get into: 1.Call of Duty (I don't have the time to be playing video games, I just finished my sister's copy of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and that's it), or just about any competitive combat game. 2.Minecraft 3.Homestuck. I don't get it. It is like, supposed to be a webcomic that parodies point-and-click stuck-in-a-room Flash games, but eventually becomes this vast storyline, but it is not chopped up cleanly into digestible pieces. How many hour to you have to read and watch it until you get to the part where the troll characters with the greyskin and yellow eyes and horns appear? 4.Fanfiction: It would be more productive to create your own characters, and unleash your own imagination. 5., 6., and 7.Doctor Who, Star Trek, Superhero comics, anything that requires a big personal investment to get into the storyline. 8.Anything on primetime TV, screw network television and their stupid shows. Screw the cliche "mature" cutting-edge high-concept, high-flavor dramas and programming on HBO, Showtime, Cinemax. I also haven't the time for anything else on TV, except for My Little Ponies, but they can be easily watched a little bit at a time, and their stories are encouraging in life! This is part of the reason I feel uneasy whenever I see that there are options to buy really fast Internet that can download or stream a whole GigaByte in under an hour, or several-hundred gig harddrives. Unless you are running some sort of business or create art for a living, the only thing ordinary folk would use that much space on a computer or a game console for is for storing a crapton of movies and games, making them couch potatoes whose heads are always magnetized to a screen display. 9.I gave up reading One Piece after the Alabasta Arc ended. My favorite manga are all ones with storylines that are designed to eventually have an ending without dragging on.
  6. This poster hasn't been active since August, so could somebody here tell me the name of this webcomic? I think I was influenced by something that looked quite similar and may have seen this myself, sometime before July/August 2011 when someone got me to watch the first four episodes but didn't watch any more. Well, I became a full-fledged fan in December of 2011, (that is my vote) when I started watching episodes on Xfinity On Demand, starting with Winter Wrap-Up. But I did briefly consider spontaneously changing my deviantART tagline to "is probably a Brony now" after watching just the two-part series premiere, "The Ticket Master", and "Applebuck Season", but didn't do it and hadn't started referencing or looking for MLP:FiM on deviantART until after I really became a fan. Ultimately, I'd like to say that I didn't find out about it by scouring the more pretentious flood-of-image-macro sites that think everything is a "meme", like Know Your Meme. There's no quality control there. I was able to get into the show probably because I learned about The Hub network from Wikipedia.
  7. NO, SHE IS.... SOMEPONY ELSE'S WAIFU!.... PERHAPS A FUTURE HANDSOME STALLION'S WAIFU! You can be an admirer of hers. Well, I fret and fawn more often than everytime I see her in an episode!
  8. My personality generally doesn't resemble Rarity's. I don't really have much in common with Rarity. Perhaps I like her the most because she is the one who simply most resembles a pretty (unicorn) pony. Her coat is white.
  9. But what if they do pass the first "trial" and just not "pass" the next ones? Or at least "this trial"? I like Rarity, Spike, Scootaloo, and Applejack.
  10. I literally had no idea that there ever where animated shows of it. I thought that only applied to Transformers, Strawberry Shortcake, and the Care Bears. I probably made fun of the toy commercials when they came on and said "My Little Pony, My Little Pony, you'll always be in my fart." Or something like that. I found out about the show via the Internet, about the TV network The Hub, and that a show called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was developed by the wife Craig McCracken, the creator of the Powerpuff Girls. I found out that she also created the Foster's show that I used to watch, later on. I largely learned about this via Wikipedia.
  11. I was thinking more along the lines of "what are we doing with our lives and what do we do for a living?" Not strictly "How do you justify your existence" on THAT kind of level. I have an interview at Regal Cinemas at 1pm today! EDIT: 9:18 p.m. I've done the interview by now. I think I actually did okay and did better than I usually do. I applied to be a floor assistant, which includes the concession counter and being an usher.
  12. "Yeah, boobs will do that"I don't get how that will make him permanently marry you. And that doesn't even sound classy. When I use refer to other men as "handsome fellers" in the direction of a female, it is charming and rustic, kind of like when Belle's father mentioned Gaston, except even more appropriate. I am generally a fan of using old-timey phrases to compliment people who I am not jealous of. I like the trope of ratty old ladies doling out matchmaker advice. "Cackle cackle! That's a strapping young buck you have your heart set on!"
  13. I don't get how "supporter" works. If you are a supporter, then why not get into the show? Is it someone who is not into the show but "likes the fans" or defends the fans?
  14. You work for a living. That's what you do for a living. You contribute to some business or place. You are married and very busy at a --for our modern times-- rather young age! How does that even happen? I've seen a photo, he sure is a handsome young feller. You have him as a committed man already?
  15. What do you think non-Bronies would think if they saw this thread and saw that some of us basically up and say "I love and want to marry a cartoon pony"?
  16. Well, I can't think of anything else to say, other than that, uh... my six-year-old niece has come over today, she can read, and she recognized "My Little Pony" on the DISH program guide when I was scrolling through the Hub and put on Pound Puppies. I put the two-parter first episodes on this laptop when I heard her bring it up. Those are the episodes that introduce the characters. But I don't push Bronydom on anybody.
  17. This episode makes me feel sorry for the Native Americans! If I had money, and I just gave away land to make their current rezs larger, would that make it better. I wonder what Cherokee and Iriquois and Plains Indian and Navajo and Pueblo people would have done if they were not interrupted and their cultures driven away? I think they could've defended themselves better if there was more widespread writing system, Sequoya's writing system came quite late.
  18. I was required to read that in eleventh or twelfth grade. Jonathan Swift is the reason why the floating island in the children's anime movie "Castle in the Sky" is called Laputa. Also, being a "fundamentalist" should mean that somebody is interested strictly in the "fundamental" elements of their written creed.
  19. I have a response to this notion that is being brought up in this topic on this forum for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and that response is this: They are ponies.
  20. You used the word "fundies", which is severely overused and I can't even take it seriously because it sounds like "fun" and "undies". Sounds like someone is not particularly Poe's Law-savvy.
  21. One of those just links to the Landover Baptist website, which is satire. and the other one appears to reference only '80s-era cartoons, which implies that they are not talking about Friendship is Magic. And that era of cartoons was lacking in positive messages and was more about commercialism and glorifying fighting and physical conflict.
  22. What God does this man worship? Not the same God as I'd worship, and I have the type of personality that would prefer to receive more Baptist and Jehovah's Witness pamphlets from strangers. It might be a bit awkward if I just decide to waltz into the Baptist church across the street by myself, but it is probably the building that houses the free Wi-Fi that could help me land my first job. And my family is not Baptist at all.
  23. No I did not. And that is a good thing. I also think that costumes, especially children's Halloween costumes, should just be based on humanoid characters unless the character is like a monster or something. I especially think that My Little [Friendship] Ponies should just be equines. That's why Rarity is my favorite character. Depictions of her as a human make the least sense and I've never heard Tabitha St. Germain use that exact same voice anywhere else. Do people realize the bullets this show dodged in casting someone that good (they could've just went with Tara Strong again)? Or in not casting, for example Carolyn Lawrence the Voice of Sandy Cheeks or some other similar misfire as Applejack?
  24. I watched the sad Japanese anime movie "Grave of the Fireflies" in Japanese with subtitles because it is a sad movie that is very important to the Japanese people and I assumed the English voice of the toddler would be annoying. I can speak Spanish, so I can follow along on any Spanish programming, if only there was enough decent Spanish-language programming. I wonder if it is possible to watch the comedy movie "Casa de mi Padre" with Will Ferrell without subtitles.
  25. YouTube in HD doesn't look like HD at all. It is a joke.Well, some things look better, but ironically animation such as MLP:FiM doesn't get sharper lines as a result of putting up the resolution. And I know HD. My sister got a Blu-Ray player and now I actually am a fan of Cars 2. (maybe it depends on the individual video uploaded) I just found out this Saturday that my brother-in-law doesn't approve of his 3-year-old watching the show because it "ees por girls" even though he was probably one minute away from realizing that the show has a dragon and Diamond Dogs in that very episode. Or that his kid also watched Dora which is more girly in a way, and I didn't even intentionally get my nephew into the show; he just likes it because of Spike (although Spike is a baby dragon, it isn't any less manly than Baby Jaguar) I probably will still be able to record it and then watch it, just more early in the morning. I gotta mention in the least disrespectful way. "Yo no estoy tratando de feminizar tu chico." Meh. Jonathan doesn't even get the moral of "Secret of My Excess". The episode is off the DVR. now. And now I just deleted "Fall Weather Friends" and "Winter Wrap-up". So, is German your native language? But you still prefer the English because it represents the characters the closest because the people who came up with the voices of the characters and based it off of accents in the English-speaking world?
