He’s okay, I actually own one of his CDs, he’s decent but there is only so much you can do with that kind of music. He seems to have no real diversity.

It's that time of year, and everyone is taking final exams right now. In fact I was just looking at the thread of everyone's final exams. I got to thinking, collectively all of us on MLP Forums have a vast wealth of knowledge. What if we had a board where we could take or academic questions and problems to for help? Sort of like a tutoring board. I know most of us would rather spend our time on this forum then doing our work, so then why not try and incorporate them? Getting academic help and lurking this forum at the same time sounds like a good idea to me. I know personally if we had something like this I would take full advantage of it, as far as seeking help and assisting others where I could.

What Final Exams is everypony taking?
Flying Whales replied to Forsooth's topic in General Discussion
I only have three classes this semster but I've taken my final for Business Applications for Windows Tomorrow is my Expository Writing final Then Thurdsay I have my Intermediate Algebra final. I'm feeling pretty good about all of them. I wish everypony best of luck out there! =D -
Oh my, this is such a hard choice because I love ponies and anime so much. While My Little Pony is easily my biggest interest right now as far as what I watch I’ve seen some animes that I am totally in love with. Like Hellsing, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom. This is such a hard call for me and I’ll begrudgingly choose ponies, not because I don’t love ponies but because I just love anime that much.

Okay, I’m writing a research paper for my English class right now. The professor allowed us to write about any topic we wanted. Naturally, I wanted to write about MLP. I’m going to make the paper academic by making my topic prompt “gender stereotypes and how they have changed” something along those lines. What I’m asking from you all is if you guys would help me find some research or anything mildly academic that addresses MLP, also articles from anywhere would be most appreciated. I thank all of you in advance for going out of your way to help me find some of the research to write this paper because I do fear there isn’t that much, which means I may not be able to talk about My Little Pony and the Brony community as much as I’d like but it is certainly going to make its way into this paper. If any of you that help out would care to see the paper when I’m finished I’d be glad to post it for you all. Again, many, many thanks.

Well, it isn’t totally her fault, she was under the influence of the Alicorn Amulet. I’d make this comparison; say you murdered someone while drunk or high. Maybe you would not have committed the same action while sober, but that does not take away from your action. No matter your intentions what happened happened and she should be properly punished for her actions. It does beg the question for me why is she so desperate for attention? I wonder what happened to her to make her the way she was.

I agree most with this. I got this way for awhile, but it as just a phase I guess. I was more involved with the fandom and these forums than the show and I felt like I had to watch the show. But for me, that is no longer the case, I watch the show here and there once or twice every two days. I think it may just be too much all at once. After I took a small break from the show I found a new appreciation for it that I didn’t previously have.

Well, since I don't have a phone the first question would be quite sad as I would not be able to give my last regards to my family. I guess I might as well try and find some friends and spend it with them. As for the second question I'd make my way home. I'd see my best friend and his family who live right down the street. From there I'd hang out with my family for one last time. If I had a whole day I think I would spend it like I would spend any other day. I'd play some Magic with my brother maybe play some Xbox or something with my mom and dad. If the world were to end and we were all aware of it I'd like to spend it the same way I always do, I already go through everyday without any regrets. I live a pretty meaningful life, I enjoy almost every day.

Fluttershy was great in this episode. It definitely had a darkness to it, even though Trixie was seen to be a gloater and sore loser, she wasn’t a power hungry tyrant . A serious plot is nice too, I enjoyed it. Pinkie was still humorous even while having almost no lines in the whole episode. What Trixie did to Spikie just cracked me up too, when she turned him into a ball, poor thing, but man was it funny . I thought this was a great episode, honestly, much better than the last one I thought.

Outdated and overused Internet Lingo
Flying Whales replied to Sequinox's topic in General Discussion
Ah man, really? When I’m on Skype or Facebook I use “XD” all the time haha. I don’t mind using emotes when typing because they can give your message a tone which is sometimes hard over the Internet. Quite honestly the only Internet lingo that has ever bothered me was poor spelling. When people say, “u” instead of “you” and other things of that nature drive me insane. -
Ahh this was so refreshing to read, finally some positive publicity that focuses on some of the better aspects of the fandom, and even mentioning soldiers which is really cool. Good for you USA Today . Imagine that? We are a bunch of nice dudes who happen to enjoy a great TV show. Not freaks like other media outlets would like to make us out to be.

Why do most of you care what other people think?
Flying Whales replied to mycarhasaMoustache's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I agree with this the most. While personally, outside of my family and very close friends I don’t care what anyone thinks. I do care about Ponies a lot. The show and fandom mean a lot to me, so yes, when people make uninformed, judgmental, rude, and blatantly false statements I do get angered sometimes. As far as people knowing I don’t care what anyone thinks. Everyone I know knows I am into ponies so I’m not worried about what people are thinking about me in that regard. -

I only have one real friend. Everyone else I know I would consider an acquaintance. I only have my one friend who I actually hang out with outside of school and stuff, and I’d consider this forum my main way of socialization. With all of that said, I really prefer small groups of people like no more than 4 including me, and when it comes right down to it I don’t mind being by myself at all and is sometimes preferable to other people.

Birthday coming up but parents disapprove of ponies :\
Flying Whales replied to YoureDown's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I had an experience very similar to yours about three weeks ago. My parents found out about me being a Brony and they reacted to it very negatively. They thought it was weird and they even threw out the whole "they are probably a bunch of pedophiles" card. I was very disappointed in them, as I think very highly of my parents. Actually, I was so mad that I made a thread on here much like you have. Since then they don't talk about it, and they leave me alone about the whole thing. I'd just kind of leave it alone and not let it cause any tension in your house. I am in the lucky position of having a job though so while they don't really approve there is nothing they can do about the MLP stuff I own. Hopefully the whole thing just came as a shock to them as it has been said already in this thread. They are from an older generation. Now that it is out in the open and they have some time to understand and come to terms with it they will calm down about the whole thing. -
You Wake Up in Equestria...
Flying Whales replied to AustralianFries's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Well, first I check very thoroughly to make sure it is reality; that I am actually awake and that this isn’t some sort of amazing dream I’m having. After that I suppose I’d walk around Ponyville to try and find Twilight Sparkle to get some answers as to how this could have possibly happened. If there is anypony in Equesria who could explain to me what happened it would be her. Once I got some answers and some closure I’d live out the rest of my days as the only human in Equesria happy as a clam in high tide. -
Well, assuming that within your hypothetical time travel is possible as @@Evilshy, has already mentioned I think honestly I’d stay. Ever since I watched Highschool of the Dead I’ve fantasized about running around with some friends and killing zombies along the way. Who knows maybe I would regret it and it would be a short-sighted decision but why not stick around to try and help build a new humanity in a post apocalyptic world.

Well, first off I LOVE Halo myself so /) there’s that I don’t think you need to have huge collections to consider yourself a Brony. To me, a Brony is just a fan of the show, which you are. I know exactly what you mean though about contributing to the fandom though. Right now I’m learning programming that way I can help other Bronies develop some of the few MLP games we have out there. So I know where you are coming from there. Overall, I wouldn’t worry about it. I think just being a fan is enough. Also, @@CMC Ryan, is right I have two WeLoveFine shirts and they are amazing so if you are looking for merch that is a good place to look.

Ugh, I hate that I work all day Saturday’s. I don’t get to see the new FiM and I don’t get to participate in the discussion as soon as the episode ends. I loved this episode, poor Pinkie Pie, she just wanted to have fun with all her friends. Though a swarm of Pinkie Pies is just a nightmare I shudder what the citizens of Ponyville had to endure.

Firstly, I think this is an excellent idea. You would be able to reach Bronies on an international level. Have you thought about shipping costs, where you will storage all of your merchandise? I know advertising would be easy. You have tones of forums you could reach out to. I know as far as the store goes I’d like to see things that I could not get in stores. Plushes and things like that. I think the fanbase is large enough to where you could get legitimate business plus it is still growing so this would be a good time to implement your online store. I agree with the idea of keeping your url short and easy to remember. Also, as far as your prices I know I personally wouldn’t mind paying a little extra to buy from a vendor like yourself because you are running it yourself and you are trying to hook up Bronies internationally so that’s really awesome. I’d also try to look into getting vendor passes to set up your shop at cons that would be good for business and would help get the word out. In all I love this idea would love to see it put into action. I hope some of what I said comes as useful to you. I don’t really know about anything about business. Best of luck! I look forward to buying from you in the future!

Do you ever try to escape reality? And how?
Flying Whales replied to Rain Dance's topic in General Discussion
I do it all the time, and I do it through RPGs, or any video game really, I escape through FiM, and pretty much any anime. Alternate worlds are just so much more interesting than our own that why wouldn’t I escape to these places? If I may just say one thing, I think everyone on this forum is your friend. I think if you reached out to any of us we’d have your back. I know I would. -
Oh man, this is really good, so sad though! Everyone just needs hugs. Hugs for everyone who comes in this thread and reads this poem. Very well-written though. Good job.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I meant by reproduce, them spreading the infection is essentially reproducing, but yeah, this is totally off topic.
