What does the word "Friend" mean to you?

How would you define what a friend is?

 

• Someone who takes the time to listen?
• Someone you can call or message at anytime?
• Someone you've fought with but still remained friends?
• Someone who points out your flaws, but still accepts them?

A friend to me is someone who there for you for whatever reason you might need them.

 

A good frienx sticks by your side no matter the outcome.. They are the ones that will run in the rain at 2 in the morning to get you what you need when sick... Or if you get stuck somewhere...

A friend to me was always someone that was much more than just an acquaintance. Calling someone a friend meant that not only could I count on them, but that I could open up to them, that we could talk about anything at any time. That no matter what we looked out for each others well being even if they don't see it that way at the time.

 

I always took friendship a bit more deeply usual, that outlook until MLP has really been lacking. Good to see it coming back in MLP.

A friend is someone I know on some personal level. I look forward to seeing and interacting in the workplace at the very least. I put this rather loosely because I don't expect my friends to be loyal to me and always be there when I need them. That sounds kind of sad but not every friend is a good one. Not that I'm applying that I have bad friends, but as a means of defending myself, I have low expectations, so that in the case one does ever turn on me, which is very unlikely, I will not suffer much of a loss.

 

Then there are close friends who you can trust with just about anything, and you know they'll be there for you, but that's why they get that label of being close. They're 1st class.

In real life, it is the opposite of what it means most of the time. Yep, I only have very few friends IRL. I now even refuse friendships. (because these friendships are scams, they are liars, nope, agents of evil) So, the true term is "true friend", a person who trusts me, is loyal to me, and will never betray me.

 

And online, of course, the same meaning of a "true friend".

Anyway a friend to me is someone who I actually look forward to talking too, connects on a personal / emotional level and will help each other out in times of need. I've had a few friends who call at the door and you dread it being them because you see them so much, a friend shouldn't pressure you and not try and change who you are.

To me a friend can be anything! If I can say it's a friend it's a friend simple, so my pets are my friends, my brothers are friends, my School mates are friends!
If I can interact with them or it then I can associate it as a friend heheh.

Unfortunately I've had what I thought were good friends turn their back on me in the past so I have some trust issues. This is why my dogs are my very best friends, they love unconditionally and they never judge. But that being said I do have a few close human friends and I love them with all my heart. I consider myself very lucky to have friends who are so open-minded, accepting and who share my core values.
