spoiler What if your OC was "Cutie Un-Marked"?

Will Guide

Recommended Posts

In the Season 5 premiere, there are ponies that gave up their cutie marks and had them replaced with = cutie marks that keeps the ponies from being unique and better/worse than anypony else. Basically, their talent(s) that their original cutie mark shows is neutralized.

The question here for all OC ponies is: What would happen to you if you were unmarked and given equality (=) marks?

My OC, Will Guide, is the only one who can do Disney Magic (represented by his blue Disney Castle), being very knowledgeable about it (Book), and in addition, is very caring (heart) and hopeful (star). So in his case:

  • His knowledge of Disney would diminished since most of the rest of Equestria have little to no knowledge (or awareness) of the world of Disney. Also, his curiosity for learning new things would also be subdued. Every time he would try to recall facts, esp. about Disney, he'd get them wrong.
  • Without his knowledge of Disney and its Magic, his unicorn abilities would diminish to little more than moving things around like any other unicorn.
  • Without his very big caring heart, his empathy for others would be no more or less than all others.
  • Without hope, his belief in the possibility of a happy ending would become uncertain. Not Hopeful enough to think of "high hopes" that would let him down; Not Hopeless enough that he would consider the "s"-word.

Well, that's what would happen to my OC. What about any of you?

Interesting question. While my Ponysona has no cutie mark (so just like me in real basically), if this were to happen to him, he would probably be a lot like me when I am feel down, only it would be non-stop. He would not be able to enjoy video games anywhere near as much and he would have no real aspiration to use his magic for anything. It would be kinda sad honestly. :c

If I would lose my Cutie Mark, I won't be as wise as I was and I would feel pretty weak. Also, I'll be forced to do that awkward smile for Starlight Glimmer until I get it back.

My OC, Midnight Gaze, has a cutie mark that represents her ability to emphasize with others. So, she'd probably become unable to connect with people anyone and may develop what people would call a cold personality.

If my oc, C. A. Geling, were to lose his Cutie-mark, nothing would actually change, since his cutie mark is fake. Of course he would still pretend to be worse at writing and uncaring about history, just to play it safe.

...It really wouldn't matter because Stardust hates his own cutie mark anyway; hence why he always hides the damn thing behind a cape. Though if he were to lose it, since his special talent is balance, really he'd just be tripping and stumbling all over the place until he retrieved it. Which would be worse, having a heart for a cutie mark for the rest of his life or forever tripping over his own feet? Please, don't make him choose.

My OC Meadow Leaf would lose all of his hope and imagination.

If he was cutie-un-marked he would be dull, hopeless, tired and gloomy.

Also he would have lost all knowledge of plants and herbs.

Meadow Leaf would also become terrible at art as well.

(For reference, my cutie mark is a pen crossed with a sword.)

Seeing as the Mane Six lost most of their "powers," what with Rainbow slowing down and Fluttershy's animal communication fading, I imagine the same would happen to me. My swordsmanship and martial arts skills would pitter out till I was about as coordinated in a fight as a foal.

Since they also began to loose their personality aspects, such as AJ's "country-isms" and Pinkie's enthusiasm draining, I would begin to loose my idealism as well. My sense of wonder and that there exists greater ideals worth standing up and fighting for would disappear.

This is especially nightmarish for me because the "we're all equal" communistic/cult of personality meme is the one I personally fear and despise to the nth degree.

If Cuddle Cresent lost hers, she'd stop being a tom boy, and more girly then before for real, and would also kind of be a push over like Fluttershy. Also, a decrease in physical ability would be evident, and she'd be less sarcastic. Her cutie mark represents tough love, btw.

Gallantry's cutie mark represents his ability to see through illusions/deceptions and find even the tiniest of flaws. If he was un-cutie marked, he would pretty much become all but oblivious to even the most obvious of mistakes. In short, if you gave him a piece of writing with the most common mistakes (like mixing up there, their and they're, words like lose and loose and using figuratively/literally wrong, etc) finding any of them would be like playing a game of "Where's Waldo?" while blindfolded.

Since it also makes sure you don't excel at anything, then it would also affect his smithing ability. He could make metal buckets maybe, but that would be about it.

Emerald's cutie mark represents above-average magical ability in certain areas.

If she were cutie un-marked, my OC Emerald would only be able to use basic magic like levitating things.

She'd act more quiet and somewhat depressed if she lost her optimistic and confident personality. She would stop using sarcasm and be more quick to give up on things.

My pony Jayce Doesn't have a Cutie mark, yet

But I do know what i plan to make it! It would be a Graphic tablet and Stylus with Red Slendermane Symbol.

If he Were to be Cutie Un-Marked Then he wouldn't have a hard time useing Graphic Tablets and is Art would not be as good. His love for Slendermane and Splendormane (in a non romantic way XD) would be gone .

Funnily enough, I actually drew a cutie un-marked version of my OC a couple of days ago! :P

Sweet Style is a model, and her special talent is natural confidence and poise on stage and in front of a camera. She's a bit of a klutz off-stage (which is why her performance abilities are so exceptional), but losing her cutie mark would probably make her a clumsy wreck, and her confidence would definitely be shattered as well. As a model, she is considered attractive, and while her physical appearance would not change particuarly much aside from the usual effects (because that seems a bit odd), others' perceptions of her would most definitely be altered so that she looks average in their minds. Her heart-shaped freckle, which is considered her 'defining' feature, would however lose its unique shape, because it would set her apart in an 'undesirable' way (to Starlight at least).

Overdrive would become a dimwitted klutz. Anything mechanical he'd touch would fall apart.

My OC, Earth Pony Smashing Light, a gamer (and in my fanfiction, a Keyblade Wielder); would no longer be any good at games such as Smash Bros. and Kingdom Hearts, and in the world of Ponies and Keyblades, he would no longer be able to wield his own Keyblade, unlike Sora and Riku and Kairi.

My OC, Dark Secrets, is a very 'dark' pony, you could say. I guess she would become a bit more happier, and as said, neutralize her emotions.

Wilhelm's cutie mark represents his love of science, his generally aloof and imperious personality, and his life's work; the survey of the skies beyond Equestria. If he lost it, he'd mellow down quite a bit, become uninquisitive, not know one end of a telescope from another, and be more down to earth. He'd also probably lose a lot of scientific knowledge and various other things, and I dread to consider what would happen to the theories he doesn't write down. His memory would be worse, too. All in all, it'd be a horrible thing for the poor guy.

Also, he doesn't get to wear glasses, which might mean he won't see very well and become more klutzy.

.....and that awkward smile. Just...that awkward smile everyone puts on around Starlight Glimmer. There's a reason it has "awkward" in the name.

You know, I'm slightly tempted to make a RP now based around this....that will likely end up with Wilhelm destroying Starlight's cottage with explosives on the Fifth of November. (if you get that particular reference, you are awesome. Probably.)

Paint Brush's knowledge and skills in painting would be gone if her cutie mark is taken away. She'll also only be able to use levitation in terms of magic spells, as well as feeling more cynical with life.
