I listen to happy personally. Specifically, S Club 7. Not only is it upbeat, but there's 1 PMV that has one of their songs in it that really helps me out when I'm in a bad mood or upset

I feel as though "happy" music loses its luster in light of despondency. On the other hand, I know that listening to "sad" music whilst despondent will only drive me into further despair. I tend not to distract myself with music when dealing with such emotions, but instead live in the moment with them, trying to comprehend.

Putting on something happy when I'm sad just ruins the mood of the happy music. Gotta go with something sad just to slowly ease you out of things. Help you get used to it all.

I listen to a lot of angsty (or sad, depending how you look at it) music normally, but if I'm sad, it makes me feel better. Listening to a song about fluffy rainbows doesn't help me get happy if I'm down.

It depends honestly, certain situations call for sad, others for happy. Most of the time though, I'll listen to happy as I try not to dwell on negative feelings too much.

I like your taste (Worlds Hype)

Anyway, I listened not to sad/happy music, but I listen to Christian Music. It eases my emotions.

I like to listen to Happy music, I feel there is no point in getting more sad or being angry and raising my blood pressure. I like to be a chill and calm as possible with anything but sometimes it can get too much, people are cruel sometimes. What works the most best is sitting in my bed all snug with my youtube videos :) best feeling ever.

Well here i have a more complex solution with 100% succes ratio, when i`m down, i must flow the sadness out through a song (a pasive way i know)

-First i take a sad song that has a very strong meaning, an example whould be P!nk - Sober

-Second, after the sadness my mind feels a need to hang on a calm song, like a very good one, example: Coldplay - A sky full of stars :sunbutt:

-Third, but not the last, use the closest song to your soul, mind, use an uplifting song, a song that got stuck in your head years ago, example: Men At

Work - Down Under  or  any queen song or The Beatles - Twist and Shout

-Fourth, look at your smile keep your smile don`t loose, it`s rare, it`s free, it can solve many problems, and it makes everybody happy and takes care of your hearth :3, cute little thing i know   :ooh:   :mustache:

Edit:Ohh and if you can, help others out, be their pinkie pie, make their hearth have a party  :pinkie:  :derp:

Generally I tend to like happy upbeat music most of the time, even the ones with sad lyrics are musically upbeat.

So sad music isn’t on my radar that much anyway

But despite being a music fanatic, when I do occasionally go through a serious bout of depression and anxiety (not that often), I tend to find more comfort listening to audio books than music.

CCR is my feel good music

Cheerful music helps remind me that things aren't really that bad, it helps me to stop worrying about whatever is troubling me, and think more motivational thoughts. Sad music usually just demoralizes me further, and eventually leads to apathy.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, any emotion is better than apathy, even sadness.

...But that's just my opinion.

I actually made a thread about the topic of sad music and it's correlation to sadness and depression as a treatment in a way. Basically, I tend to listen to very depressing music when I am feeling depressed. Incredibly dark stuff usually. It actually helps me a lot, because it gives me a feeling at that moment that I am not alone, as if the singer is projecting their personal feelings and I can relate to them. That is actually quite comforting.

I will generally listen to Sad Music because a happy tune wouldn't feel right. I found most of sad tunes from Homestuck Videos/MEP's on youtube.

I just kinda thought some of them applied to how I felt and what I was thinking.

I listen to even sadder music so I can be really down and write wonderful songs  , the problem is that my mood keeps on being really low and it lasts long when I'm sad :(

Happy music, always happy music :P I don't feel down that often but no matter how "meh" I'm feeling or how annoyed I am, some happy music usually puts me in a better mood :P though, I don't
