I did not like the start of the episode : cutie mark for campaign was ridiculous, but i loved how the episode ended, i wanted them to get their cutie mark at the same time, I didn't thought it was possible, this episode was simply amazing.

Why when the mane six got their cutie marks they weren't lifted in the air surrounded by magic fire? Don't tell me because the CMC are special. The mane six are even more special! Was it because three ponies got practically identical cutie mark? They were so close that the magic involved in getting a cutie mark manifested physically? Can someone call brony analysts and theorists to break this episode in atoms and analyse it?

This is one of the best episodes I ever seen!

If you ask me, though, I feel like the pacing of the episode was a bit off, and the climax was a bit confusing (like, was DT really going to have herself reinstated after Pip's proposal was denied or something, or was she consciously pulling a bait-and-switch?). But those are really my only gripes with the episode.

There needs to be an "I cried!" option because I... I cried! This was beautiful! I know they didn't exactly get the Cutie Marks we were all expecting, but I think that kinda makes it all the more special.

Also, YAY! Now I don't have to eat my boots! (when the trailer for S5 popped up, I promised I would cook and eat my books if the CMC didn't get their cutie marks this season)

I gotta quote that this episode reminded me of...

"Legend goes that Graham was the means, toughest son of a barrel in the whole damned Legion. The New Canaanites wouldn't talk about him. They were ashamed. Guess I can't blame 'em.
Well at hoover Dam, the Malpais Legate finally met his match. Hanlon and Oliver kicked his New Canaanite butt right back over the river.
Caesar had to make an example for the others, to show them that even at the highest level, failure wouldn't be tolerated.
He had Graham covered in pitch, lit on fire, and thrown into the Grand Canyon... People say he didn't even scream on the way down..."

point is i didn't even react to this episode... didn't squee, cry, laugh, scream on the way down, none of that.

they have their cutie marks, now what? is this bad? i never want this to happen...

It's goin' down fer real!!

edit, also this would have been the perfect reaction:

Did anybody else stop hating Diamond Tiara after this episode? I even stopped disliking her before then actually. And this episode made me really like her. She's so adorable now. I just want to hug her so hard.

Also think about it, until now we only saw her father and her mother never appeared until this episode. Chances are the poor girl's parents were probably divorced and that was also why she became a bully. Plus Silver Spoon was her only friend.

There needs to be an "I cried!" option because I... I cried!

That it does. Such beautiful music, and finally finding out what they're meant to do, and Scootaloo has a sister now so she's not left out in any way

And their cutie marks are perfect. Crusaders forever. I said myself after Troubleshoes that it would be great if they continued helping other ponies after getting their marks. https://mlpforums.com/topic/127211-s05e06-appleoosas-most-wanted/?p=3722080

And Silver Spoon getting fed up with DT's attitude is something I've been wanting to see for a long time too.

Agggh... Just, Agggh. Where do I even start? :P

Okay, so for quite a bit this season and even stretching into last season I've felt a bit "Meh" over most of the CMC's episodes. Why? Because I didn't really feel like they were going anywhere. I felt as though their development had just stopped and they were eternally doomed to become the 'B Series' episodic breaks in between the Mane 6's adventures. Episodes based mostly around slapstick adventures you'd expect from schoolkids, with the usual moral thrown in at the end, then it's back to business as usual for them. That was all fine and dandy at first but I was really getting tired of knowing how it would all play out by the end whenever they went Crusading. They wouldn't be any closer to discovering their talents than they were at the beginning. And I'll be honest; I thought we were in for another round of that here.

When the episode started becoming something of a redeeming episode for Tiara, I figured that would be it. That was already a pretty significant change for one episode. She'd become another friend to the CMC, maybe join them in future episodes. I was alright with that, I figured if any villain would've been redeemed at some point it would be her, given her age and background.

So I thought nothing more of it. Right up until the CMC started making their vow that from then on they'd work to help others find their own Cutie Marks. As soon as they started talking about that, well, that was pretty much all I needed to hear. I just shook my head and smiled.

Then the world died for a moment. :P

Once the (chats) had settled down a bit, I was left alone with my thoughts. These 3 have been pretty much the backbone of this show since the beginning. I've never been the biggest fan of them I have to admit. I thought some of their episodes were just a bit underwhelming and had a "Look at us, we're kids, we're funny!" type feel to it. A bit of an unfair strike to take against them I know, but that's just how I felt about them sometimes.

But yet here I was at the end of this episode going "YES!! YES!! YOU FINALLY DID IT!!!" in my head so as not to get some funny looks from the family. But it was honestly something I never thought I'd be doing at any point in this show. Made me think I actually liked this trio more than I gave them credit for deep down.

I have to also mention the one line given by Applejack towards the end to Apple Bloom: "If Mom and Dad were here, they'd be so proud." That line froze me for a second. I know it's been pretty much accepted canon by this point that AJ's parents are deceased, but for the most part the show has done little to bring attention to it, parental loss is a sensitive topic for many, and they didn't have to add that line in, it could've been absent and the ending would've still been great to me. But just the fact that they decided now to reference it again, heck outright confirm it this time, it really emphasized to me just how much an achievement Bloom and the others have gained here. If there was ever a good time to bring light to that fact again, it was then, and I'm so glad the writing team realized that. It was a momentous achievement for them, and her parents, wherever they are, would be proud of their daughter.

So, once again the waterfall of feels continues with this beautiful episode! Rather unexpectedly I must say. I'm making a vow to not dismiss anything as beyond impossible this season. They are absolutely gunning for it this time out, and I honestly can't wait to see what other developments are in store for us. Some might see this as the beginning of the end for the series, but for me it's just full steam ahead for now, worry about the destination later.

I hope you're all on board too!

Howdy folks!

OH EM GEE!

Another Season 5 episode that is off the charts in AWSOMENESSS!!! :yay:

What a way celebrate the 5TH anniversary of the show by a CMC Episode with a Musical!

Once again Daniel Ingram did a stellar job in the songs.

Amy Keating Rogers wrote a dandy! (And co wrote songs as well)

Michelle Creber (Applebloom) Clare Corlett (Sweetie Belle) & Maddie Peters (Scootoloo)

Were fantastic!

Special Kudos to Chantal Strand as Diamond Tiara.

(And she voiced DTs Mother Spoiled Rich)

I was hoping to the stars Chantal sings again and my goodness she was EPIC! :)

(And Ashleigh Ball singing as AJ & RD PLUS Kazumi Evans as Rarity too!)

Fun ta hear Graham Verchere as Pip Squeak again.

This episode made wanna blubber like a baby.

But I am so glad the CMCs FINALLY GETTING Their Cutie marks!!

Loved it when Apple Jack was in tears for joy her little sister as she reached her goal.

In a way this episode reminded me of Pinkie Pride.

Except the CMCs & DT was doing most of the singing.

See ya!

(spoilers)

This episode was truly beautiful in every way. It made me cry.

It's so wonderful that the CMC got their cutie marks and that they got them for helping others. I'm going to miss episodes about the CMC doing silly things to try to find their cutie marks but I have no doubt that there will be plenty of CMC shenanigans to come, and new, more profound things as they further discover and grow into their roles in life.

For a second, I thought that they were transforming into alicorns...

I don't believe that Diamond Tiara can change so fast from a bully to an awesome friend.

And wtf was Twilight doing in a single second on the playground? Is she like a mosquito attracted to friendship? Does the princess always participate in the construction of stuff or is she that bored from doing nothing?

The stuff Applejack said implies that their parents are very dead.

There will be soo much people who will hate these cutie marks.

I will sit back and enjoy the chaos...

I like this episode soo much...

Heh, is it me or the animators are soo lazy they just cut the ending of the intro and put it at the end of this episode?

I wondered what purlesmart was doing there, too. I vote for she was just that bored

I just watched it a second time, and it won't be the last I guarantee you. Such an awesome episode. DT's solo was an amazing song, and probably the best in this episode. There were like, what, eight songs? I just really enjoyed it and was thoroughly impressed with it. This and Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep are the two episodes out of season 5 that have made me want to watch them over and over again. Such a good one to land the anniversary of FiM.

It had a lot of surprising elements!

To start off, half of the episode or almost the entire episode actually.. Was a song.

And Diamond Tiara got some backstory.

And... It's official that the Apple siblings parents have passed away too, which is really saddening.

I really liked this episode however, it was brilliant. <3

Is anybody else bothered by the way their cutie marks look?  Except for one variable central element, they're identical.  That's just too weird to me.  I know the cutie mark designs are intended to reflect the connection these close friends have.  That's a great idea.  But it wasn't necessary for them to look as though they came from the same rubber stamp to achieve that.  :/
