No Larson for Season 6

The fact that we have so many writers seemingly jumping ship all of a sudden for S6 is quite worrisome as a trend as well :(

It's not just them, Sibsy also said Season 6 was her last one. Also, even Jayson, the guy who was part of Lauren Faust's original brainstorm sessions for the series itself, seems to also not be returning to FIM after the movie that he's directing.

Also folks, I'm of the opinion that if the show is going to end, than I will welcome it if it is done well as one thing I consider very important for a series to do and know, 'knowing when to end'. Nothing lasts forever no matter how hard we try to make it last as long as we could, we could only find means to help keep the show fresh, but when it comes time that such an option is not possible, than that's when an exit strategy needs to be formed.

If the show were to end, than I will be happy to have enjoyed six seasons, a comic series that will likely go on, other books, a spinoff and possibly even more, and likely future stuff for the series as Transformers has shown. Trust me, G4 showed Hasbro the blueprint to making a successful franchise that appeals to all for MLP (and thus alot of money). I'm certain this fandom will last a long while, especially with MLP likely getting more generations to come.

Also that movie in 2017 don't forget about that!

Nothing is worse for a show than losing its original writers, and without Larson, I guess all we can do is hope and pray that McCarthy will return.

Considering that this is a season which will presumably change the status quo with a new main character, with the added bonus of an baby character (a trope which has almost never been done well), this is a time where the show needs its best writers the most. And yet, almost all of them have now jumped ship.

I have honestly never been more worried for the show's future.

Eh, not very keen on her either XD

but I doubt she'll be back anytime soon, she's got her hands full with the movie yeah? Not to mention she's gotta be in charge of ALL girls cartoons now, not just FIM.

All girl cartoons? I have to ask what does that mean? All girl cartoons ever, on the hub, or what? I have not herd this. That is why I ask.

She's the head storyteller over all girls brand entertainment for them, not just MLP now.

so not just the hub but any of their shows or entertainment. Such as watching over the next iteration of Littlest pet shop when it airs, or figuring out ways to market things such as furby or Fur real pets (Like the fur real pets shorts)

Doesnt matter too much to me... he was a great writer in seasons 1-3, but he didnt write for season 4 (the best season of the series for me), and i didnt like his work in season 5.

AKR leaving is much worse.

Sucks that Larson's not on S6, but I reserve my judgement for when S6 airs, I just want to know who's still writing for FiM considering AKR, Larson, and Levinger are apparently out

I know its probably meant as a joke, but I still think its in bad taste given how many fans really liked him on the show :(

(especially since haber is WAY below larson's tier to be handling S6 if the rumors are true)

Isn't meant as anything more than playful trolling. As for my thoughts on Haber being show runner...the small SoL episodes(the meat of the show), he does those just fine so I'm not too worried, but it makes does make me worried for the big episodes like the premiers and finales, since I thought Cutie Remark blew.

But not enough to keep me on panic mode

Well, that's gonna be a huge loss for the FIM's writing team...

Still, I'm not pessismistic like most people in this fandom, and I will not reduce other writers potential to rubble.

And I hope Season 6 will at least make a stand in this franchise's history.

*Screaming like a girl*

No way, not Larson... we lose Amy, Meghan and Larson too? No Amending Fence-tiered episode. No Lost Mark... 3 best "carry" leave the team. I like Haber but I still dont trust him even I like his S5 episodes...

*Lambdadelta's morale points decreased to 40%, he receive PANIC status*...

Okay... I see there are plenty of show staffers leaving and only one coming in. Can't say I'm thrilled to see this happen but I'm just hoping to see if season 6 will be able to hold its own. If it doesn't turn out to be like season 3, I guess that's more than good enough for me.

I've just joined this awesome community and I get news that the future of Mlp looks gray?! Well, sooner or later it will happen. :(

hey, who knows; if the FIM movie hits it out of the park in money, hasbro might FORCE it to continue XD

that being said, given what I've heard of S6 combined with FG's showing, I'm not sure I want it to. :(

Even though M.A. Larson may not write any Season 6 episodes, there are still other writers who do a good job. There might even be some new writers to the show like what happened back in Season 4 so don't give up your hopes just yet.

I'm perfectly fine with this.  While he is credited for writing one of my favorite episodes "Sonic Rainboom," he's also credited for writing my least favorite episode "Magical Mystery Cure."  I think he made his greatest contribution back in season one, and season four (one of my favorite seasons) fared just fine without him.
