More RariPie is always great, but holy shit they seriously need to cool it with Rarity this season. She's tied with Twilight for my second favorite character in the show, and even I'm getting really fatigued with her this season

Another Raripie episode? Sure, why not? The synopsis sounds promising enough and it sounds we will get another new character. But please, don't let her be another Fluttershy rip off, like Coco pommel, or Marble Pie.

Another Rarity/Pinkie episode? Well, they did have a really good dynamic in The Gift of the Maud Pie so I'm really looking forward to seeing them again. Rarity has good business skills so I see her helping out on the advertising end. And Pinkie's a fairly good cook and has a good relationship with her family.

 

And damn, we went from having literally no Rarity focus in the first half of season 5, to her crushing everypony else in terms of screen time in the first half of this season. Cool it, writers. I know you adore Rarity and all, but spread out the focus a little. Poor Flutters could use some.

Its not really that strange, they have a habit of doing characters episodes all in a clump, like last season they did both dash episodes before the first half of the season was over.

 

This just means there'll be no rarity or pinkie episodes in the latter half of the season.

Sweet! Another Rarity and Pinkie Pie episode.

I really really enjoyed their character dynamic in the Gift of Maud Pie, and I am glad that we are going to see more of it pretty soon.

Also I find it really funny that in season 3, Rarity didn't get a single episode and people were complaining about that, and now in season 6 we have gotten to the point where people are complaining about Rarity appearing in too many episodes.

Although I am still hoping we get to see a bit more out of Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash after this point.

I'll agree that we could use more dash, but this is probably all the rarity we'll be getting this season after this one and saddle and row; characters usually get 3 episodes, and this will be rarity's third one. Its like last season, after dash got her 3 episodes she didn't get a starring role in any episodes for the entire second half of the season.

I love rarity myself, can't get enough of her (second best pony IMO). But If I'm remembering correctly, I think fluttershy is number 2 in popularity on the last census poll. so she's got alot of fans

That's because people have terrible taste and like their moeblobs (seriously look at all the hype over the borderine non-character that is Marble Pie). Fluttershy is a character whos been spinning in circles since season 2, learns super similar lessons consistently and more than any other character has to regularly rely on gimmicks to make her episodes interesting.

 

 

To give you a taste of how low Flutteshy is in my rankings, she's below Spike, and hell Starlight Glimmer's only been part of the cast for like 6 episodes and I ALREADY like her more than Fluttershy.

 

And honestly when it comes to polls the only consistencies iv noticed are Twilight is #1 in all of them and Applejack #6, iv seen Rarity, Rainbow, Pinkie and Fluttershy all take #2 various times in various polls including ones that get hundreds of votes. Ultimately the issue with any internet poll is that you have to CHOOSE to participate, there's no random sampling. However I think when it comes to determining popularity, aggrerating all the polls iv seen on many sites the only things I can say are 100% true are Twilight's the most popular and Applejack the least.

They pick characters based on plots though, and this one seems right up rarity and Pinkie's alley, plotwise.

Rarity is a business pony and can handle helping the group out with advice for how to financially run the resteraunt, while pinkie is a good choice for giving them advice for the food part, for what sweets to bake and all that.

I'm expecting it'll be like the IDW rarity micro comic where she helps out a group of hippie farmers figure out how to run their business productively.

She's known to be Haber's favorite, and he's the showrunner now. Not surprising to see her become a lot more active in the show under that circumstance. 


Expect to see even more Rarity/Applejack too as that's another thing Haber on the record as really liking and enjoying writing.

Eh, I'd put Rarity down at being at her max IMO; this one, the gift of maude pie and saddle and row amount to three fairly dedicated Rarity episode (she co-starred in TGOMP, she's co-starring in this, and saddle and row is a solo episode. Last season it was 3 episodes per pony, so that syncs up with the normal allotment), plus she had a decent role in Gauntlet of fire.

 

 

Even if she's haber's favorite, he's not going to go giving her a noticeably larger number of episodes than the others, especially since hasbro pulls the strings and Rarity is one of the lesser merched of the mane six.

Um, wow. Another Rarity centered episode? I mean.. alright then.

 

The writers do know other characters exist, right? I love Rarity, but I find it a bit weird that Rarity is getting part of the spotlight once again, especially since it's with Pinkie and there has already been a Raripie episode this season. Sounds like a cool premise, don't get me wrong, but stuff like this is starting to bother me a lot.
