I do not know why some people have said that people like Luna, Tree Hugger and Rara are background ponies, they have all episodes that are dedicated to them. And even if they did not there is still a line between supporting and background character. Granted the line is blurred a little with Slice to Life and other episodes making background characters into supporting characters and almost to leads in Slice of Life. But they still continue to be on the background in many episodes.

 

I would say the "creepy super strength" filly Diamond Tiara interacts with, Lyra (for her beautiful design, I wish someone in the main 6 or even better Starlight had similar coloring) and my avatar are my favorites.

I have three favorites I love equally. Lyra, Derpy, and Minuette! I love their personalities even if they aren't shown often. Lyra is loving, cute, and funny, Minuette is sweet, cute and optimistic, and Derpy is funny, kind, and adorable!

I voted Minuette because I like her. Except for that one scene where there was three of her in one of Twilight's childhood memories, even though she was supposed to be one of Twilight's childhood friends yet she was a full adult. And there was three of her.

Well, Lyra is a favorite of mine, sure. Love how she can work a rare color for ponies like green without it being too obvious as is want for background ponies.

Then there's the three-way tie of the Flower Fillies Rose, Daisy & Lilly.

 

But my absolute favorite?  Caramel!

Maybe its that plain, but sweet look of his what with his long, but boyish mane or those puppy-dog eyes of momentary sadness that his face flashes to on that fateful day he gets scolded for once again forgetting the seeds for Winter-Wrap-Up; but he's just the cutest, most approachable stallion in Ponyville in my opinion! Come what may, regardless of what our genders may be, if I was in Ponyville I'd be on him in like, nothing! And I'm sure this has nothing to do with his name also being my favorite flavor!

 

Like to think he also has a twin sister too, that goes a way in explaining him being one of the biggest placeholder models. She even shares the same first name as him too, he'd be Caramel Flan and she'd be Caramel Torte! That's....that might still need work...lol
