gaming What kind of Pokemon Trainer would you be?

So, what kind of class of trainer from the games would you be were you in a real life Pokemon world?

Me, I think I would be a Collector. And no, that's entirely different from the Super Nerds, Scientists & PokeManiacs!

*Adjusts his glasses and gives off a lens flare* Clearly!

I'd so be the guy to go out of his way to get Pokemon that are rare, regardless of type or how good they may be in battle. Then throw a pouty fit when you win because I was only banking on their rarity to win the battle.

The sorta guy to offer move teaching abilities, but only in trade for worthless items that have no other use and I already have a room full of them. The kind of trainer to charge at you across a cave room while brandishing my Dunsparce like a sword only to come at you after the battle to beg for an Escape Rope since I've been lost in this cave system for days now.

Oh, and if you don't know which trainer applies to which type, don't hesitate to ask! Because I know them all! Clearly! *Zhing!*

Among which of those I am proudest most of is my Draconequusona, His/My Ask Thread  and my Hydra, Gallimaufry or "Mauf" and their own Ask Thread!  Either way, sufficed to say, I am quite confident I have more OCs than you! Crazier to! Do You have a tatzelpony?! No, I rather think you don't! Hew-Hew-hew!

Well, since I do a lot of Pokemon breeding to create competitive teams, I would either be a Pokemon Breeder or an Ace Trainer.

I'd be the type of trainer that only uses pokemon that he thinks look cool. If he finds a super strong pokemon, but it looks too generic, then out it goes.

Richard Techtive, Ace Trainer.

Ahem, I think I'd be a terrible trainer.

Cause I'd just have a bag full of hundreds of captured Dittos.

That kind of a trainer who doesn't exactly know what to do and offers an easy win to whoever they challenged.

So then, there's your choice of Preschooler, Youngster or Lass! One of those titles are more comfy & easy to wear!

Dittos are like ALL the Pokemon rolled into one! You could never lose! Though I imagine keeping your Pokemon clean is kind of hard to do when its just a lil' gooball that rolls around in the dirt all the time.

There's an npc in fire red with the same name as me and is an ace trainer, but that's probably wishful thinking. I like shiny hunting so I think maybe I'd be a collector?

Youngster would sound like me because man, do I like shorts! They're comfy and easy to wear indeed.

You know, just one of these days, I fully expect to cross paths with a youngster who brags about recycling his old shorts so that he can sew them into shirts & everything else so that he can just wear nothing BUT shorts!  Like several gens down the road when they have a Shorts pokemon too!

I'd be an Ace Trainer since I do train Pokémon properly what with EV training not to mention breeding them so that they each have four IVs at 28 and above--technically that would also make me a breeder--or soft-resetting until I get the right IVs for the legendaries that I plan on using.

They aren't 'like' all pokémon. They are all pokémon.

Last I read up on 'em they're a failed attempt at making a Mew.

And Mew's story is evidently that it contains the DNA of every pokémon.

Then again, last I was into pokémon in a serious nature was back when I played Red.

On a PC, no less :V

I've made a mental list of must-have 'Mons, and one is definitely Ditto.

Probably a bird keeper. Flying is one of my favourite types because of how much versatility it has. It has a good mix of sweepers and bulky walls to make for a pretty terrifying team, of course including Skarmory, numerous dragon types, togekiss, talonflame, charizard, aerodactyl, etc. You know, something other than fearows and noctowls.

A Collector probably. I usually enjoy running around trying to find and catch as many different Pokemon as possible more than actually battling.

If I hear that a Pokemon is rare or annoying to catch, that just makes me want one even more!

Friendship isn't always easy. But it's definitely worth fighting for.

I have always favored ice/water type Pokemon, so I could see myself specializing in such a team.

Well, suppose we all know the water trainers are Swimmers or Tubers. Ice trainers... well, maybe rangers since they spend alot of time outdoors, though they're mostly grass or ground I think. Definitely Skiers though I know Bryce's gym was filled with  ugh  Cool Trainers.

@@Widdershins,

I forget which ones use fighting types mostly or exclusively but that would be the one for me. I also have a passing interest in ghost types because I always dig the more mystical elements of any setting that has a mix of sci-fi and fantasy.

That said if I had to choose one, fighting types definitely. I do martial arts IRL so it would be awesome if my pokemon actually fought in a way that was similar to what I was already familiar with. Would be an advantage in pokemon battles since my commands would come right from a place of "if I was in this situation, what would I do?" Good luck getting that same frame of reference when commanding a Bronzong.

Following the whole "you teach me, I teach you" idea, . I could teach them more advanced techniques that can't be obtained through raw instinct and they in turn could teach me some stuff they know by virtue of their nature as pokemon. I mean obviously I don't think they could teach me fire punch but arm thrust, double kick, force arm? I think I could manage those with enough close tutelage from my usual entourage of Gallade, Meditite, Hariyama, and co. Plus Lucario is a fighting type and they can harness aura so maybe if I capture one or evolve one from Riolu, that can be my gateway to the higher, spiritual levels of the martial arts through pokemon. (The dragon from the tiger, as my teacher says.)

Hmmm I'm not so much big on using pokemons to do the fight for me. So if so, i will only capture ones who does enjoy fights, thus i would be ace trainer.

Well now, there are  Battle Girls, Crush Girls, Crush Kin(double battle teams) & the ever famous Black Belts though I could swear I remember fighting a Karate Master.

There's Athletes, but those mostly just focus on using really hard hitting physical attackers and Vetrans who don't specalize any any one type, but they all seem to keep & train their pokemon for decades at a time and treat them like a brother, that whole kind of almost mystical bond there, so I can see a Veteran being ghost/fighting trainer. Pity there isn't a ghost/fighting pokemon.... well, one that counts!

Also...how do you do that "mention" bit with the @ symbol link?...

Black Belt! That's the one I was thinking of. I saw them on the mountain road in Kalos and wished I could play as them. That's what I would be.
