ultrairongorilla 2,064 March 11, 2018 Share March 11, 2018 (edited) I only check the news because I feel like I have to, but at this point it's become absolutely draining to keep up with it. The Recherche 29,969 March 11, 2018 Share March 11, 2018 Frankly, outside of the weather forecast, no. I'm honestly more interested in what's going on in my personal life and the lives of those I care about than anything that may happen on the news. I know that may sound harsh in some cases, but that's just how I feel about it; I care more about what happens in my day-to-day life and the lives of my family and friends (yes, you lovely folks are included ). ❆~ 𝓐𝓵𝔀𝓪𝔂𝓼 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓕𝓸𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 𝓟𝓮𝓮𝓻𝓵𝓮𝓼𝓼 ~❆ 𝓕𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝓨𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓼 𝓲𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓜𝓪𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓰: 𝓜𝔂 𝓟𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓕𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓼𝓱𝓲𝓹 𝓲𝓼 𝓜𝓪𝓰𝓲𝓬 𝓡𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀
Narcissus 355 March 12, 2018 Share March 12, 2018 I'd rather die a slow and painful death than watch the news. It's all distorted, mis-reported and in many cases just made up by liberal media. There is no integrity in the news and I wouldn't want to watch it in any case because it's too depressing. If you want to hear anything upbeat, you have to sit through a half hour of misery before they finally get to the 'puff piece' at the end.
King of Canterlot 9,603 March 12, 2018 Share March 12, 2018 I do like to watch the news, particularly Fox News because they're not always trying to bash Trump. I like Trump, and it got pretty tiring watching stations like CNN or MSNBC always trying to push their one-sided, anti-Trump agenda. I also listen to the radio too, particularly MPR news, they aren't too biased one way or the other, and I like that. I also like a lot of their weekend programs too. DubWolf 17,320 March 14, 2018 Share March 14, 2018 Sometimes, although I don't watch it on TV. I usually just type "Trump" and see what he's up to . Then again any results I'd get wouldn't really be "new" . Sig by Wolf, Handwriting by SparklingSwirls
Retro*Derpy 3,192 March 14, 2018 Share March 14, 2018 Even working in a newspaper plant, I don't read or watch the news. Often just depressing, would rather stay out of the loop entirely.

ExplosionMare 18,080 November 4, 2020 Share November 4, 2020 I’ll watch it out of curiosity then regret it later. I used to watch it a little bit when one of my grandfathers was still alive because he loved to watch the news. Boom!
Luna the Great of all the Russias 2,987 November 12, 2020 Share November 12, 2020 This may change, but as of now it is generally not often. I have the attitude that the news not only has a bias problem, but they also determine what topics people are to think about in the first place. "How are they attempting to propagandizing me?" (An interesting position of which I am aware is to purposefully avoid supposed neutral or moderate news sources and only consume those who hold more radical political views and more or less proudly proclaim it.) Unless I purposefully keep track of what has been said, I am aware that I will have forgotten this or that news article in about three weeks' time so a given news source can completely change their narrative without me noticing. I think it is already safe for me to me to assume that whatever I read or watch, in most cases I will be disappointed at least but even worse is that my way of understanding of the world may be further removed from reality; so I may as well use the time to do something else. Twilight Sparkle97 402 November 13, 2020 Share November 13, 2020 I mostly watch it only for the weather ( on the weather channel ) and every now and then I watch my local channels like ABC, Wavy and CBS.
AppleButt 8,676 November 13, 2020 Share November 13, 2020 No not really. Though sometimes I do listen to NPR on my drive home at night because I find talking on the radio to be oddly relaxing, but a lot of times even then I don’t want to hear news so I’ll listen to a Catholic channel because it’s talking and and they don’t delve into politics much at all. I do watch our local news a lot for the weather. Our meteorologist is a gem.

zerox 1,141 January 9, 2021 Author Share January 9, 2021 (edited) Strange. I don't get depressed by watching the news. I know that lots of bad things are happening around the world but that doesn't bother me somehow. I do fell sorry for the affected people but what am I supposed to do about it anyways? Well obviously I don't have a magic wand that would fix all of the world's problems. Also while I was young I used to watch real crime shows on TV like the FBI files, Forensic files,... etc and not does fake crime shows like CSI. Oh man what I saw on those real crime shows was insane. I would have never imagined what some people were capable of if I haven't seen it. Ted Bundy, some guy that dressed up as a clown and killed people... and other crazy people... Stuff like that showed me from an early age that some people are fucked up.
