It's already leaked, really. The damage is done. They've already said that they won't be upset if you choose to play it so the only reason you have not to do so is if you don't want to spoil it for yourself before the full game is out. I agree that the original leak wasn't cool, but at this point there's nothing that can be done about it.

Huh, I didn't even realize someone had a leak. I'm still not gonna play it though. As much as I love playing a game I wanna play ASAP, it's not even an official release, but it's probably buggy and such.

 

Back on topic... I'm still excited for the game. I'm not too big of a fan of fighting games, but this one looks like an old school arcade fighter for some reason. I know I'll be playing as Twilight often.

So I've spent some time with the alpha version and without giving away character related information I can say that I like what I've seen. Obviously there are bugs here and there but this was not meant to get out this early so it's perfectly understandable. It's actually less buggy than I was expecting it to be,

 

As for the fighting, in its current state it seems to be quite generous with the OTG moves. This could be changed of course, but right now there are a lot more moves that can hit a downed opponent into a combo starter than you would typically see in most fighting games. Even a novice button masher could probably get at least 10 or 11 hits on a fairly consistent basis with most of the current characters. Of course, this is assuming that nobody is actually fighting back. I don't know if techs work yet.. Like I said, this could be intentional or it could be something they just haven't gotten around to altering yet.

Just saying, but that color is horribly light. ( might just be me though, cause of my r/g colorblindness).

You may get a warning point, so be careful.

(I say that cause Feld0 messaged me when I was using a light pink color)

Like I've said elsewhere, I have zero interest in downloading something the hard-working team didn't plan to give out. Having patience for this is simple for me, as I like to see the new updates, and know how much it's improving each day. Besides, Dashie isn't playable yet, what would I want with this silly alpha test yet, anyway? |'D

I was against people downloading the game, but after reading the latest update of mane6 I think I was overeacting with the whole thing. I ended up downloading it too (i'm a bit ashamed I admit) and discovering amazing combos with Rarity (things might change in gamplay though). So please post your combos videos, I am interested in them, also...if you know any good desktop recording software, it would be helpful if you let me know.

Also as a clarification with the combo system; a combo is not a full combo if at any given time the opponent flashes blue. This is because a blue flash indicates that the opponent can tech out of it manually.

How do you get the gems to shoot diagonally with Rarity? I couldn't figure it out when I tried her. Also, how did you do her special?

Rarity is sooooooooo top tier ... I'm able to do awesome combos with her that the game ends up crashing when I do an specific input ...I have also discovered a Pinkie Pie infinite, I got a message saying: "LOL ARE YOU DESK?" (desk is a pro fighting game player) and the counter restarted...it was hillarious but the devteam have to fix that XD

it was a loop of:

 

dA + dB +dC + Cartwheel (medium version) + dash (if you're not in the corner) + dB + dC + Cartwheel (medium version) + dash (if you are not in the corner) + dB + dC ....

 

and you continue until your fingers starts bleeding

Boy that's a little TOO easy. Of course, this IS an alpha. Applejack's "The Pony's Elbow" can even be an infinite in the game's current state.

if you wasted your 2 launchers, ground bounces and wall bounces, your opponent will flash in white meaning that you can not longer chain combos, in Pinkie's case, her "Cartwheel" causes a hard knockdown, so you can pick your opponent up with an OTG and start to spam again

Juggling? Crap. How prominent is that in the gameplay itself? I just don't think I'd be able to handle another fighting game with broken juggling physics.
