Why does Quibble Pants' mane look like Daring Do's?

So, what are y'alls theories on why Quibble Pants and Daring Do have the same mane color?

Well he is at a convention and further they are both just bleached out copies of Dashies mane soo if I had to guess 

In show reason:

It was a convention and he had his mane made up to look like DD

 

Real reason: 

Its easier for artists to reuse some assets.

Yea but really how many mane styles can there really be with the art style they use for the show? I mean I know somewhere between jack and squat about art but I still think there has to be a limit on variety at some point

Well, the last episode he was in, he didn't mention Daring Do. Having a style like that while meeting a mare of his future, it doesn't seem like a good choice. He probably was born with that hair. Kinda like Twilight and Moondancer having the same shape, but not the same colors.

The asset in this case is Rainbow Dash's mane and tail that is being used saturated on Daring Do. Quibble Pants must have a slightly different shape to make up for his stallion figure.

In the original 'Read it and weep', my understanding was that Daring Do looked so much like Dash to emphasise that Dash identified with Daring, which was how Dash got into the story and learnt that reading wasn't just for egg-heads.

If Quibble also looks like Daring, then that might be a visual cue that he also identified with Daring, albeit for slightly different reasons (hence his dislike of later books.) In effect it's the reverse direction of the in-show best guess which is that he dyed his hair to look like Daring because he identified with her.

I doubt daring was suppose to end up being a real person. When she did pop up they just went with the recolor. Quibble probably just dyes his hair like the mayor does to look older.

His hair wasn't just for a con. He appeared with Clear Sky and Wind Sprint in Common Ground with his mane exactly the same and there was no convention whatsoever.
