Sometimes I'll go with a tad of BBQ sauce if I haven't got any A-1 handy. One thing I will NOT use is ketchup! I'd go as far as to say that steak which has been cooked properly and is a decent quality cut, is actually significantly better without sauce on it. I'd never put sauce on a steak I make at home.
