What is the Cutest part of a Pony's design?

I was randomly noticing someone's avatar here at the forum, where the pony's nose was just a little bit extra curved, which I thought looked cute! Then I realized, it was more than just the nose being curved, but also the nose being small. Oh and the eyes were large too... Not every design work even if following the rules of small nose and big eyes (like seen in most Anime characters). So what is it then?

 

What part of the pony design makes a pony cute? Can you specify what it is? Your opinion actually counts since it helps understanding why we are all here!

I found the cutest part to often be related to their smile. The way the smile is so squeezed together between those huge gradient eyes were a very clever design for G4!

I think that their big, expressive eyes look cute as well as the body shape, which reminds me more of a cat (or even a kitten due to head/body size proportions) than a horse and cats are cute. This is in contrast with, say, G1 where the ponies look more "realistic" for lack of a better word.

Though in most drawings, pony faces from the front look a bit weird to me. This is because in most drawings like that, the muzzle gets "flattened" and the face goes from "cute kitten/pony hybrid" to "weirdly shaped human face".

Ears are the standout for me. They're just so expressive in a way that human ears aren't, and I love that the show consistently got that right. It probably helps that I went to horse riding summer camps several times as a teenager, plus I'm a cat person and my parents have had cats for most of life, so that kind of animal ear body language is second nature to me.

And for some reason, when it comes to Twilight specifically, the wings are also adorable. I have no explanation for this.

There's a lot about the pony design that is cute. I'd say eyes, nose, and mane are three big examples. Also, their facial expressions and body movements add the the cute experience. Plus, I'd like to add that pegasus wings add to the adorableness. Ponies are just all around cute.
