If you were to be a Villian, what would be your method of wiping out and driving the Pony race and other equine species into extinction?

Wiping the slate clean, so to speak.

Motivation being not just a xenophobic hatred of Equines but also the goal of wiping out the "pests" so that your people would settle and populate a Pony-less Equestria as well as other lands ruled by other equine races such as Saddle-Arabia and certain non-pony quadruped races such as bovines and deers.

I can think of a few. Number 1, create a biological virus that is highly infectious and 85% lethal. But I would want some survivors to see what they're world is now. Number 2, similar to number 1 but a virus that infects crops and plants. So basically, creating a famine with a virus. Similar to the Great Famine in Ireland from 1845 to 1852. And finally and my personal favorite. Start a massive global war and let the ponies wipe each other out.

Having just come from r/place, I think my villain motivation would be business/content related and underestimating equine strength.

Background: The villain is from a technologically advanced alien species which lives on a distant planet. Some members of this race send out remotely controlled drones to fight each other in eldritch games or destroy harmless planets. There are no consequences for these monsters, other than to become frustrated if their schemes don't repay them in fun remote drama. There are, however, consequences for my villain if he doesn't entertain his fellow monsters - each little monster following him grants him a little more currency, and his lavish monster life-style needs a great deal of currency.

Scene 1: My villain plans his raid with a few close monster allies. "Everyone-monster knows about the planet with the ponies and their sparkliness and I know my fans will love it if I chase every pony into the void! And how tough can they be really, they're cute colourful ponies so this will be a doddle. How come no-monster thought of this before?

Scene 2: Drones flood Equestria. Initially, ponylands succumb and ponies become a rare site in Equestria.

Scene 3: The tide turns against the monsters due to two phenomenon: 1) drones begin to atrophy at an increasing rate due to a mysterious magic. 2) The villain is easily distracted and also needs to rest and without leadership the drones are much less effective.

Scene 4: When the monsters realise that ponies are gaining the upper hoof this excites them into a frenzied focus on all things horse, they vow not to rest till the colourful Equestrians are defeated. The renewed focus proves devastating and the drone army inflict a series of crushing defeats on the ponies. The ponies suffer a further severe setback when the monsters learn that the source of the atrophying magic is the tree of harmony, which they destroy with the help of a berserk Titan imported from a nearby, previously neutral, planet.

Scene 5 Just as all seems to be lost the spirits of the 8 guardians of Equestria awake from their slumber around a gigantic harmony-crystal planted deep below the ponylands. The drone operators wail with frustration as drone after drone falls the new magic. My villain seeks new allies from other planets - more titans, void creatures, France... but none wish to face the new magic.

End scene: The drone army withdraws from Equestria, and the ponies rejoice. There is much hugging :3

The drone operators also look a bit miffed. Many complain that the pony magic can't be real and cry sabotage.

My villain, however, is pleased. This game was most fun, and his fellow monsters will remember the fun they had and be more ready to go to him and not his competitors for their games in the future >:3

I'd drive a wedge between das unterpferd so that they'd fight amongst themselves. While that's going on, I'd do everything I could to raise the militaristic might of my people while maintaining a neutral stance. War profiteering will ensue, followed by our armies to clean up what's left.

Um... Why would I wipe them out? o.O Sorry, can't imagine myself as such a villain, can't imagine myself wanting to hurt others... Just, no.

However, I can tell you what my "OC" (that is, self-insert) would do if she was a villain - try to impede and stop Winter Wrap-Up. But not with the intention of hurting anyone, only with the intention of not being depressed because Spring depresses me and thus my "OC".

Step 1: Die.
Step 2: Become a ghost
Step 3: Possess Celestia
Step 4: Control the sun and guide it towards the planet
Step 5: Everyone dies in the sun's fiery wrath.

Plague. They might have magic and hospitals but I didn't once see any sort of pony equivalent to modern medicine, nor any sort of defense against a widespread virus, especially considering the mentions of the pony pox and that flower that turns you into trees  :nom: I doubt they'd be able to handle a large amount of infections of those haha

not that I'd want to wipe out all the ponies, of course :P

The thing is, villains can be villains without knowing it. They may have good intentions in mind like in your example, but they are still causing harm since they are doing something that appeases them but may be harmful to others. Eternal spring could disrupt things over time, like confuse all the animals and make them think every season is mating season, which would make so many species overpopulate. At least when villains have good intentions, they are slightly easier to redeem.

Eh...I don't see myself being a villain. I'm highly empathetic and if I ever caused suffering deliberately it'd weigh on my conscience to the end of time. :-P

As for what my OC does on the other hand...my idea was that she'd cause a LOT of crime and pain throughout Equestria. All the hate the ponies have for her, and the hate she has for them in turn, would draw in the Windigoes, who will promptly make a snow-covered mess of the kingdom and turn all ponies into popsicles. :devious:

It takes all sorts to make a world
Short and tall sorts, large and small sorts
To fill this pretty planet with love and laughter
To make it great to live in tomorrow and the day after!
