I've watched the anime, but never read the book unfortunately. I'll give you a strawberry if you keep this a secret though.

I could mail you the first and second book, maybe, if I can find it ...

Have no idea where to put your soul after a tragic demise? Come talk to Babylon!

We'll care for your soul (with some possibilities not limited to burning scalding impalement soul destruction unnecessary hiccuping etc.)!

Your soul will rest next to a beautiful countryside (IF A SCALDING BURNING WASTELAND IS NOT COMFORTABLE THE COUNTRY SIDE ISN'T BEUATIFUL)!

Enjoy your afterlife (Ok that part's just a lie we tell to hook customers) !

Around a year or two ago I read it, and I have watched some of the anime.

For an 11 year old, it was horrifying. Read it a long time ago. Edited by Super Kami Guru the III

Elfen Lied was the third anime that I watched (after Bleach and Code Geass). I found Death Note to be rather tame.

Well that would explain why it was scary.

One of my friends has a black diary with Deathnote written on the front, so I guess he's watched/read it as well.

It does seem to be a popular manga.

The scariest anime that I have watched recently is Neon Genesis: Evangelion.

I swear to god, that was both the best, weirdest, and most mindf**king show that I have ever seen.

I have the whole series in my book case :D I think I've read it twice, at least. I usually have to feel like reading something more intelligent when I read it...

I don't find Deathnote scary o.O I have never thought of it as scary....

I read it just recently. Gotta say it's hype is warranted but for totally different reasons. Usually when I heard about this manga it was "Oh Light is so hot" or "L is such a cutie" and absolutely nothing else.

Then I read it for myself and it's actually one of the best detective stories I've ever read (Not that I read a lot, I did read Case Closed for a while but beyond that I don't do detective stuff much)

People pay too much attention to the characters and not enough to how the characters interact and the stories around them.

Death Note is one of my favorite manga. I never watched the anime, mostly because I don't generally like how anime changes stuff.

Man, now I want to go reread it for the fifth time...

Only watched the anime, of which was pretty good. It was a show that required you to think along with the story the entire time, and didn't just shove explosions and robots in your face. Nothing wrong with explosions and robots, but a solid compelling story never hurts.

Evangelion has both :)

But yeah, it was a very thought provoking manga. Always trying to think ahead, wondering how X was going to get out of Y situation. Eventually, the plans got so crazy, I just gave up :P
