~Phoenix~ 196 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 well, first off. i break the brony stereotype because i'm not annoying as heck about it like most anti bronies seem to think. i'm also reasonable and dont get butthurt very easily. i just shrug off all the rude comments because they either arent true and if they are true i have only myself to blame. for instance, i am not a pedophile, and if i was, that's my own problem and quite a big problem that probably would need attention brought to it as done by anti bronies. another way i deviate from the stereotype is that i am a voice of reason. i acknowledge and respect other peoples oppinions and use resaon. i like mlp and you dont? thats fine. if you're wasting your time going out of your way to try to insuccesefully hurt my feelings? well that's your problem. after all, i only like a cartoon. say what you will. Lightning Bliss 1,674 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 I tend to think how I break the stero type is a few things. 1. I'm a married woman, not a guy, and certaintly not a guy the 'negative opininated' public accuse of being gay or pedifiles pfft. 2. I engage in other activities other then MLP. Yes believe or not I have a life outside of bronyhood lol. 3. Being a brony is something I enjoy and it's a hobby. I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^ The Lightning Bliss Show Lightning Bliss DevianArt
Nerdy Luigi 2,065 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 (edited) SKINNY Don't have a neckbeard Not a pedo Don't live in a basement. Trans WOMAN. But I am pretty much gay though. Also, I'm not very social and I think I have issues. But I embrace being somewhat similar to the stereotype. It's all who I am. Only chumps say that negatively. Mrain901 216 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 It's funny, I love fedoras and fanfiction, and I'm pretty much gay, so in that way I'm pretty stereotypical. But I'm also a girl (but I still call myself a brony) and I'm actually a bit underweight. Either way, stereotypes are dumb and I wouldn't consider myself a cliche or a stereotype breaker.

CosmicHooves 2,705 March 9, 2015 Share March 9, 2015 Stereotypes I don't follow: - I don't read MLP fan fiction - I don't listen to Brony music - I'm not a clopper - I'm straight - I only watch the show once in while, not everyday - I'm not fat - I don't wear a fedora - I don't Roleplay with other Bronies - I'm not a furry - I'm extremely athletic Stereotypes I do follow: - I play allot of video games - I'm mildly autistic - I'm single
Roketsune 388 March 12, 2015 Share March 12, 2015 I probably reinforce them more often than contradict them, hahaha. Though, I don't speak of the show or subculture excessively and I'm not a clopper (though I do like more humanoid furry porn). I don't know how a brony is 'supposed' to look, so I'm not sure about that one.
1Bit 1,531 March 12, 2015 Share March 12, 2015 Well I guess of the stereotypes I know that exist in our school...I'd like to think I don't match them at all. Sure I like MLP FiM but it doesn't automatically make me a 'fat neckbeard with no life' as so many students so kindly put it. I enjoy a lot of sports and play for school teams as well as having a nice job. I like to think I'm relatively normal Which seems to upset some students in school ---< Fanfic Writer, Music Maker, Film Director and Voice Actor >--- Don't expect anything incredible though! Will Guide 21,360 March 12, 2015 Share March 12, 2015 I've noticed some of these posts mentioning that wearing a fedora is part of the Brony Stereotype. Probably because of Pinkie's rap in a Season 4 episode. However, when I hear about or wear a fedora myself, I don't think of Ponies; I think of a certain secret agent platypus. BlueSkies 82 March 12, 2015 Share March 12, 2015 To start with, I'm not a Nice Guy--I'm too female for that. Don't own or wear a fedora. Can't grow a neckbeard (again, too darn female). I don't live in my mom's basement (yet). I'm not a clopper.
You Heard Nothing 1,213 March 18, 2015 Share March 18, 2015 fat, eh? not likely. i'm 5' 10" and weigh in at about 120 pounds. yes, i live with my parents, but only because i have yet to reach the legal age of majority. i have a job. also, most people irl don't even know i'm a brony, not because i hide it, but because it's a relatively minor part of my life. This is my signature. Because everyone needs a signature. Right? Special thanks to Blue Moon for the signature pic.

Guest May 18, 2015 Share May 18, 2015 Hmm... - I have yet to listen to any brony musicians music like on youtube & etc. - It's funny how people are mentioning fedoras. I actually like those hats just not when people wear them casually. I actually have never owned a fedora or have never worn one. - Never have collected any of the toys/dolls that I know bronies are into. Nor do I plan on it. - Don't have any decals or stickers on the back of my car related to the show. I just like the show and that's really about it. This place as well since it's been a great place to socialize and make friends.

Axel 1,059 May 18, 2015 Share May 18, 2015 (edited) I guess I break the black stereotype liking ponies. And everyone saying bronies are out of shape basement dwellers are very much wrong. I'm in college working on my degree, I'm ridiculously fast for my size so soccer basketball and football are a blast to play. I'm not gay, I don't clop, I have way too many friends, I can watch colorful ponies solving problems during my freetime unless you wanna fight about it, and instead of being overweight, i'm underweight. The Diver 760 May 19, 2015 Share May 19, 2015 I work as a Commercial Diver which is considered a very manly occupation and one of the most dangerous jobs a person can have, DEFINITELY not a virgin, I don't live with family, I was a skateboarder for 11 years, and I do plenty of weight lifting! I also do NOT own a fedora (I wear knit caps and beanies), I'm very social, and I own almost no pony merch. "I could have been happy above if I'd never donned the copper carapace and dipped my head beneath the waves to hear the muddled man-made sounds. Distorted and dreamlike droning. The whir and thrashing of a distant propeller, the tumultuous thundering thud of fogbound freighters. Mud underfoot, no sights, except the grasp of a diver's trained hand, dreaming of distant lands knowing all the while this is what I love, not the blue skies and wondering faces above. Canvas, rubber, brass, copper, and glass. Leather and lead, mud and sweat, heaving around in dark, damp depths seldom seen by most yet talked about by all. As if a sunny, happy place where mermaids and seahorses play and chests of gold are lain bare, untarnished by salt and time for all to grasp who are bold enough to go below..." -"Deep Sea Diver", Steven L. The Awesome One 1,315 May 19, 2015 Share May 19, 2015 I have no My Little Pony merchandise. I still live with family but that is because I'm sixteen so that doesn't count in the stereotype thing. I will never own a fedora. Maybe a top hat and a smoke pipe though. I am not some faggot who has no social life and I try to ignore all that by watching MLP.
SpiderDiscord 145 May 22, 2015 Share May 22, 2015 I am technically an x anti-brony so if I may give my thoughts and reasonings before I actually joined the fandom... Even tho I enjoyed mlp in season 1, I was fearful to join the fandom. So much so I even denied my interest in the show. I feared and despised the fandom do to it's known intolerance and inconsiderate behavior. aka "please hide your clop from the mainstream" "haters gonna hate, rule 34, get over it" Not to mention that the bad part of the fandom spoke, and speaks louder than the good.So I knew about those that harassed girls (and little girls)Claimed the show as theirs (for older men vs little girls) so complained when merch was not marketed for themand those that even stoked girls while talking about rape like it's a fun game! I was terrified, even when I recently tried to join the fandom Seeing comments like "girls can't be BROnies, because they aren't bros" and "girls can't be friends with dudes" "girls are only good for sex, cooking, and cleaning" drove me away and led me to believe they were the brony community, a bunch of sexist pigs After joining the community however, I realized that those monsters are simply a smaller portion of the fandom. They just speak so loud it's hard to see the good side of the fandom. Altho it has been brought to my attention that the other fandom communities are finally becoming more respectful and understanding. Where mature content does seem to be separating from common fan art vs mixed together. AnywayFor me I guess I break the stereotypes I have seen by being an x anti-brony altho now i'd say am am anti-shameful-brony :/ Still weary about calling myself a brony due to the inconsiderate jerk part of the fandom are much louder, and I do not wish to be associated with those things... __________ Sorry for the long post. I just have a lot on my mind about this subject matter.I would like to thank a majority of this forum for helping me see the good side of the fandom! <3 I have no My Little Pony merchandise. I still live with family but that is because I'm sixteen so that doesn't count in the stereotype thing. I will never own a fedora. Maybe a top hat and a smoke pipe though. I am not some faggot who has no social life and I try to ignore all that by watching MLP. If I may ask you to try to avoid using faggot as an insult... pleasePersonally I am technically a "faggot" so is upsetting when people act like being gay is an insult ...I'm sure you didn't mean it like that, but wanted to let you know
Evil Nightmares 552 May 22, 2015 Share May 22, 2015 I am not some faggot who has no social life and I try to ignore all that by watching MLP. ^This made me laugh really hard. So thank you for that. I needed a good cheering up today. -I live on my own -No fedora -I rarely watch the show anymore, and never got past season 3. So i rarely talk about it. -I'm very very thin *Ya know, because of the whole 'Bronies are all fat' bullshit* -I guess im straight, but to be honest, i'd hump a toaster if i was in the mood. So, i'm not real sure where that puts me when it comes to the whole 'Gay' thing. But i guess it breaks the stereotype, because..... Screw off, why not? -I'm not a kiddy fiddler -I don't have any mental disorders. -I am sad cynical sack of shit, but damn i'm pretty
