Chicago from the 60s and 70s is my favorite band. The Beatles and Streetlight Manifesto are also way up there for me.

Singer? I don't know on that one.

Muse, Mother Mother, Deas Vail, and Of Mice & Men top my list! No, not Of Monsters And Men, the folks that apparently can't take the trouble of finding out if the name they want is incredibly similar to another band's name.

Awesome people. (Pony IRC channel)

My choices are going to surprise you guys. You'll never see this coming.

My favorites include Meshuggah, Death, and Deftones. Meshuggah, because of their technicality/playing-style/everything about them, Death because Chuck Schuldiner was a beast, and Deftones because their songs are so emotional (usually), and the atmospheres in them are just good.

I HAD TO FALL TO LOSE IT ALL BUT IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER /WRISTS

OH YEAH! Coheed and Freakin' Cambria! They're talented, put on a great live show, make great albums.

And they're the nicest celebrities I've ever met. Very down to earth folks who take the time to laugh and joke with fans.

Yeah, I got a hug from Travis and Claudio. AND Claudio let me feel his hair. My life is complete.

I love the Beatles, but everyone loves them...

My favorite singer is...

Karen O - I just love her voice and her style. Her band, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, are amazing and they manage their radically change their style with each album. Their debut was very art-punk, but they became a bit more mellow and "indie" with their second, and their most recent one integrated more digital sounds. Here's a track from the YYY's debut.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcjPFAV1foU

She's also done a lot of collab/soundtrack work. She did a cover of Immigrant Song with NIN for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie and she also did a bunch of songs for the Where the Wild Things Are movie. I heard that she wrote a song for the new Tim Burton movie as well.

Next to Karen O and the YYY's... my favorite band would have to be Crystal Castles with Alice Glass on vocals

They're an acquired taste, but I think they're the best thing to happen to music in a long time.

I know they aren't a "real" band, but i'm gonna say Sex Bob-Omb from Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. Their music is epic.

Hell Yeah Sex Bob-Omb!

If you like their music, maybe you'd like Beck. Unless you already know his music.

But he wrote all of the music that Sex Bob-Omb played in the movie. He hasn't released an album in a while... but he's got a huge catalog and his style's changed a lot over the years, but maybe you could find something that sort of sounds like Sex Bob-Omb. Maybe Mellow Gold or Odelay?

It's gotta be Pink Floyd (if you didnt notice by my signature and profile background) this band in my opinion is one of the bests of all time. All their albums blow me away with awesomeness..David Gilmour singing just blows me away everytime

I am a huge fan of The Beatles. I have a box set of al thirteen of their albums remastered onto CDs, a behind the scenes cdof some stuff they did in the studio, I have The Beatles Rock Band, I always watch the 2 hour special on the Biography Channel whenever it comes on, and I chose to have a Paul McCartney Concert ticket be my only present 4 years ago.

My favorite group, without a doubt has to be Disturbed. I'm even getting a Disturbed Tattoo on my back in a few weeks time. :D

Wayyyyyy too many groups that I love so I really can't pick just one. So instead I'll list a bunch! (In no particular order)

  • My Chemical Romance- effing love these guys, and their songs can be emo, upbeat, serious, funny, and ironic all at once. I love it.
  • Muse- I usually am not the biggest fan of progressive rock but Muse is awesome. They're style also changes alot from album to album which is like a new experience every time you listen to them.
  • Avenged Sevenfold- I don't care if they're the "faggots of metal." I still love them, they aren't the best but they basically introduced me to metal.
  • Linkin Park- Once again, I don't care if they're the "faggots of alternative." They basically introduced me to MUSIC back in the early 2000s.
  • Van Halen- These guys are great and have one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Go Eddy!
  • Killswitch Engage- I really like they're style of metal. Not much else to it.

OH! I got three for you! In first place comes Linkin Park, In second comes Avenged Sevonfold, In third comes MonsterCat. Linkin Park and Avenged Sevenfold are well know but I think MonsterCat deserves more attention! http://www.youtube.c...a?feature=watch He is incredibly talented and sadly under known!

Damn right, A7X and Linkin Park for the fucking win!

Some other awesome bands out there are

Muse

Mine is Counting Crows because they are amazing. When I was born a Counting Crows song was on the intercom at the hospital. They are overall really cool.

Hey, a group that charted and which I have actually heard! I have the Counting Crows' hits in my music collection.

I find their singles chart history interesting. They started out with cross-genre success, as songs like "Mr. Jones" and "A Long December" became big hits on the Pop, Adult Top 40, Mainstream Rock, and Modern Rock charts. After their first couple of albums, their success on the Rock and Pop charts waned, but their success on the Adult Top 40 stayed strong for a few more years (with songs like "Big Yellow Taxi" and "Accidentally In Love"). After "Accidentally In Love" their success on the singles charts practically disappeared.

My all time favorite would have to be The Beatles. No other group has such a sheer amount of hits. There earlier years offer that nostalgic 50s vibe; soon to fade away as their music transitioned into the late 60s trippy music that would define the 70s.

Oh yes, Alan Parsons Project & Pink Floyd. I think there still is more. I doubt that any of the users on here heard about the groups I just listed, the non-overrated groups.

I heard you are into progressive rock. I am such a prog die-hard. It is one of my favorite music genres. Van Der Graaf Generator is absolutely one of my favorite prog bands, with Yes & Alan Parsons Project and Genesis. It's so hard to pick a favorite.
