You are truly lucky my friend. Wish my friends would like that show too. Looks like I'll have to tell a story . When I showed them a video about MLP at KYM (Know your meme) they all said they hated it. So, I woun't tell them that I like MLP.

 

And about my family, lets just say that I don't want to be kicked out from my home like one guy I red about. He got kicked when he forgot to log off his commputer before going to school and his mom found pictures of MLP. When he got home, his mom went into ALLCAPSRAGE, and kicked him from his home for a full month(or so I Understood). Eventualy, he stayed at his friends house.

 

Edit: I'm thinking of keeping it a seacret, or when I find another MLP fan in RL.

I am 100% open! I've got 6 other friends that are bronies, which makes it easy to talk about ponies, I've got 1 person who I think is curious (playes SuperponyBeat, he really likes the music!) and 2 that I think are closet bronies!

Well, I'm not really afraid to say that I like ponies, I've just never mentioned it at school. If somebody brought it up though, I'd have no problem saying I liked it. My parents know, and my grandma, and they don't care. My mom even watches it once in a while.

I just downloaded 7 MLP episodes onto my mom's laptop, it's a pretty big risk but she never uses her laptop anyway.

You might find TrueCrypt useful. Use it to create a file container with three layers of Pentagon-grade encryption and fill it with all the ponies you want (stick a copy of Chrome Portable in there while you're at it, too, so you can have your own bookmarks and browsing history). Save your file container in the dark depths of your computer somewhere where a 5 GB file would blend right in.

 

I once used TrueCrypt to achieve some privacy back when I used to share a computer with my sister and parents. It works great, as long as you don't accidentally leave your file container mounted when someone else goes on the computer.

I was thinking about intentionally starting a convo that "reveals" that I watch the show. But the reaction could be real bad.

My mom could flip out and tell me I'm forbidden from watching it (something I will never obey ).

My brother got in trouble for using Littlest Pet Shop animals as targets for his army men. How the hell then will she allow me to watch ponies .____.

I'm not very open about it, but that's in my personality. In real life, I'm not very open about anything I like unless it gets brought up into a conversation.

 

I have been open about it on my LiveJournal, though, which I have between very close friends in real life. My profile picture on there is Pinkie Pie, and I have mentioned the show in an entry or two, so they will know if they want to.

 

Anybody who is close to me would know that I watch cartoons, so it wouldn't come of much of a surprise to them.

My husband and best friend and a couple of co-workers know. I guess everyone that I really talk to. I can't say I have a lot of friends ever since I moved and got married.

 

My husband doesn't like the show and is always laughing at me for watching it or being on these forums. I'm trying to convince him that I need a pony shirt, but unfortunately they don't have any that I really like around here and I don't usually order things online.

 

In any event, anyone who asks about it or if it gets brought up then people are welcome to know. I'm not hiding it or anything. ^^ I can understand where some of the more closet high schoolers and whatnot are coming from though. I was a lot less open about things when I was younger.

I have 1 friend who knows i like it. He doesn't watch it so much himself, but atleast i know that he doesn't DISlike it. I have also started a little to play the theme song to one other person and joked about that he should have a MLP wallpaper (he actually had Spitfire for a day ) to see how he reacted. Atleast he didn't go AAAH WTF MLP GAYYY etc. etc. When i joked about having the theme song on a movie project in school to another friend, he said ''Oh, that gay song''. So i'm never going to tell him about it.

I haven't really told anyone about it aside from the few friends who read my blog. I plan to buy a Brony shirt and wear it without any warning, but also not paying too much attention to it. I figure being my school's only (as far as I know) Brony I better handle it safely. Just wear the shirt and act like its a completely normal thing (which it is).

 

Who knows perhaps I'll meet some real life "closet" Bronies!

I'm a completely-closed book when it comes to ponies. The only person I've told I watch the show to if one of my best friends who I tell everything. And even they were a little freaked out. I guess it doesn't help that England doesn't get the HUB channel on tv so the only way of watching episodes are via Youtube.
