Behaviour around friends

Does anyone else here act differently depending on what group of friends they are around? I feel like this is the case for me personally. When I am around my band and orchestra friends I'm less shy, because I feel like they accept my randomness more than some of my other friends do. Then, when I'm around my not as close friends I don't really speak as much. I guess that's why one group of friends think I'm a quiet guy, and the other group think that I never shut up.

Well, there are five types for me.

1) Close friends: Just acting like mah plain old self. Essentially a bully. But they know it, so it's not like their feelings are hurt...right?

2) People I hate: Narcissistic as hell. Playing off their insults as a plus is a damn fun game.

3) People I mildly like: Just your ol' plain human.

4) i) Girls before 5 minutes: Stutter..stutter...shy

ii) Girls after 5 minutes: Hi, my name is Channa, and I'm a perfectly normal human being.

5) Alone: Create situations where I interact with others, making up situations where I make witty puns. It's super effective!

This one is a tad less creepy. Wouldn't you agree?

I'll admit, I change a lot depending on the type of friends that are around me. And I notice most of them do as well.

I've got some pretty immature friends that constantly talk about women, porn videos and these kind of perverted stuff. I usually join in the conversation, even if I disagree with it, only to fit in during that very occasion. There are also the trolls, the nerds, the metal-heads and many other types. I try to cope with it and talk with them about whatever they want to talk about so I don't sound like a jerk. :3

But I believe I still didn't find anyone reliable and friendly enough to share my own tastes and opinions with. So I'm unfortunately most of the times wearing a mask.

Around best friends: Normal behaviour, we make kinda fun of each other sometimes, play pranks (little ones) like that, mentioning ponies? not a problem for we all respect everyone as he is

Around friends: Meh, if I don´t like what they are talking about I just atke small part, but they ain´t bullying either and I know them a long time (some of them) so they are friends, and if it´s getting rough I know I can trust them, too

Girls: I am quite shy, but once I get to know them it´s okay (1 best friend and 2 friends are female...)

Internet: Trying to always be calm and respectful, and it works 95% of the time (5% is trolling, but there has to happen A LOT to get me to troll someone)

I try and talk to everyone in the same way. I don't like hiding my identity to please everyone. Of course, around my friends I am way more outspoken and since they know me they understand my personality. I have to be polite to others hehe.

I am very open with my close friends but others, like classmates I don't usually even talk to. They must think I'm shy because they don't talk to me either. I just feel I don't "need" to get to know them. (Much like Twilight in the beginning of season 1.)

For every situation a pony comes across. There is a guidance system that defines how you react in the nature of the enironment. Since you LOVE your close friends, in the back of a pony's mind, an automatic process of relaxing around them takes place. Where as with ponies you don't know, a defensive mechanism takes over instead to protect a pony from what is most likely completely harmless. That is why learning about how the mind works is vital to an understanding what makes a pony who they are.

There are 4 groups of people. Though I behave differently when around each one, I'm always insane. Insanity is something you can't just turn off.

Group 1: Cool Guys.

These are my closest friends. Our conversations typically go like this:

Me: "Hey, *censored*"

Them: "Wassup, *censored*"

Me: "*censored*"

Them: "*censored*"

Me: "F U"

Them: "Any time, any place."

Essentially, we just screw with each other, but we are there for each-other when we need it.

Group 2: Sensitive People.

These guys are my friends that are a bit more sensitive than me and my closest friends. I'll still act crazy as hell, however I'll keep sex jokes, swearing, practical jokes, and trolling to a minimum. Like my closest friends, we help each other when we need it. (These guys seem to always need some kind of help

Group 3: Colleagues.

These are the poor people who are unlucky enough to have to work with me. We talk about work, and how I'm going to clean up after my practical joke went horribly wrong. I try to make work fun, so I'll joke around and pull off some pranks, however it's a professional environment so I keep everything clean and family friendly. We really don't talk much outside of work, unless somebody wants something. Which I reply with a "No." 100 percent of the time.

Group 4: Strangers.

This is how I act around strangers:

Ahahahaah, I am beyond guilty of this. Anytime I'm around people that still have room to judge me, for example new friends, acquaintances, or teachers, I'm just a normal kid who's funny once in a while. Once I'm with my close friends I'm just this whole truckload of nonsense and laughs. Whenever I'm around girls that I know well enough, all I do is flirt. I'll flirt with any guys around me too, just for good measure. XD

Thank you for asking. Though I am afraid I have to keep that a secret. I don't want my boss sniffing around my online social life. *Wink* *Wink* *Nudge* *Nudge* Edited by Urdnot Shepard

I act really different around my friends.

Around people I don't really know, i am usually really shy, and just try to avoid talking to them.

Around people I do know, i tell alot of jokes, and make fun of them when they get nerdy stuff wrong (i want an i6 processor anyone)

And alot of people think i'm a douche, because sometimes i am. I am notorious for having a tounge for curse words.

Most definitely. Around my close friends (all 2 of them), I'm a bit more "expressive," I guess you could say. I'm not going crazy or anything, but I'm normal, I guess. I'm not tripping over my own sentences or anything.

Around acquaintances, I'm a bit more diffident. Not so much, but you could probably tell.

Finally, around strangers... I go full on derp. I can never keep a conversation going, and if I manage to do so it's a trainwreck most of the time.

This is mostly in real life, but I find it can happen sometimes over the internet occasionally.

why do you have to change your behavior while you're around people?

I don't think these changes are intentional, they just kinda happen. I pretty damn sure I don't do this on purpose, I'm just really socially awkward so it's something I can't control.

For girls: If I know said girl ill probably be happy, and more relaxed. If its someone I dont know to well, im more reserved and quiet.

For guys(aka best friends) We have known each-other FOREVER like six years, but im usually cocky and swear a lot( ive been trying to grow out of that)

To people i dont know very well: I dont usually say anything

I honestly know what you feel, sometimes I can just freeze up randomly and make it really awkward... sometimes messes up a lot of friendships... :P

-Around unfamiliar people: I do chat but I'm more of the listener than the chatter

-Around friends: I'll be a lot more talkative, but I don't go wild or hyper around my friends

-Around complete strangers: I usually don't talk much, and have trouble continuing a conversation

-Around girls: Depends on which girl/what kind of girl. If its a girl I'm not very familiar with I talk about as much as I do to anyone else I am not familiar with. If its a girl I am friends with or if its a/the girl I used to/have a crush on, then of course I would feel damn good around her :wub:I'm not a perv btw

Around friends I act like myself, rather chilled and in the background, not usually gonna be the first person to talk, but still making my presense known. Usually the nicest person in the group.

Around classmates I don't know, I try to avoid contact with them. I just have a low opinion on most people at first glance because of how jaded I am, and if I ever talk to answer, people usually think "holy shit he talked!" pisses me off so much.

Around strangers, generic small talk. I never begin though.

I act similarly around everyone. My personality when I'm with people is like a combination of Rainbow Dash and a toned-down Pinkie Pie, haha. But during school if I'm in an interesting class and/or there's a lot of work I'll usually just shut up and stay focused the whole time. There are some classes where we barely do anything, and that's when I'll talk to people if they interest me (translation: if they're nerds or just have cool personalities).

Around best friends: Wait, friendS? You mean friend for me. Ehm, ponies, borderlands, team fortress 2, other general internetty/game-y stuff.

Around friends: What other friends? If you count online, check the above!

Around strangers: Do not speak to them unless spoken to. Not because I don't trust them, but because I lock up around them. Especially girls.

I don't have to worry about this much because I don't have many friends... But as far as groups of different people go I am a lot like this. Around my few real life friends I crack jokes all the times and talk a lot, around people who I don't generally hang around with I'm pretty quiet and just try to fade away from them. Around the people who bully me and are total f**cks to me then I get loud, but not in the same way as with my friends. ;)

Now internet friends... That's a different category altogether. Internet friends I am neither loud or a joker like with my real life friends, I am not shy or discreet like with people I don't know too well, and I'm not aggressive like to people who bully me. With internet friends it's almost like a mild mix. Take all three of those personalities, dim them and then melt them down into one. This makes one personality where I joke sometimes, am shy sometimes, and am aggressive sometimes. That's internet friends for me.

I usually act normal around my friends. When I'm with my highschool friends I usually don't bring up ponies in conversations. When I'm with my college friends (most of them are fans) I'll talk about ponies a lot.

Close friends: I'm a complete motherbucker, and they treat me the same. But it is all in good jest.

Intelligent/Tabletop RPG friends: I can hold a worthy debate with these folks, so I use a more advanced vocabulary while I tell them how dumb they are.

Most everyone else: Indifferent, don't really bother talking to them.

The Internet: HEY GUIZE I'M COOL AND SMURT AND STUFF CHECK OUT MAH STORY I LOVE YOU AAALL.
