Strangest thing: Microscopic insects found living on my cheek wall

Ok so I got bored and decieded to look at some stuff under my microscope. The first thing I did was take a sample of my cheek wall and look at it. What I saw apart from the regular cells was insects...

I did a double take and still they were there, I checked even after cleaning everything (with chemicals that kills bacteria etc!!) then took another sample and got the same results.

Did you know: 20Kv's of electricity can kill you from up to 5ft away?

Are you sure they're part of your original sample? Count the number of legs these "insects" have. They are very likely mites that contaminated your sample. Contamination is a huge issue even in a lab environment.

This is why I don't even want to know.

I know there are microscopic insect like things all over everything. Including what we eat. I find it best just not to even think about it. If I did I'd be freaked out by what might be on me and would never be able to eat again. lol

You sure it isn't just some kind of bacteria? Some kinds can look an awful lot like bugs from the pictures I've seen. Or you may have just eaten something recently that had dust mites on it.

2 things, 1, when I checked again I sterilised literally everything. 2, I doubt bacteria since my bedroom/lab is radioactive and has all sorts of chemicals on it (I'll keep it as this, I refined granite for uranium. Don't ask why it's loooooong process...)

Work for me. Just do it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe insects have 6 legs. Count the legs, it would well be mites or etc, which to my knowledge are not insects (they fit under the umbrella category of bugs though). Also why are you surprised? Whatever you see under the microscope is likely not rare, but rather common.

That's funny, I actually looked at my cheek cells for science class a few weeks ago. I didn't see any insect-like things, though.

The first thing I would do is run to that show "Monsters Inside Me" and have them look at it. If they don't let you on, then you're good. If they do, then use the buckets of money they give you to fetch a doctor and get rid of that crap.

I think I could do it myself. One of my large batteries exploded last night so I could just use the lead acid. I'll probably use all the acid to make Activated Carbon for future spillages of chemicals...

Yeah, just swish that stuff in your mouth a bit and you'll be fine I'm sure. XD

I wish I could do sciency stuff like you. I also wish that I would get good grades in science. :(

There are many varieties of bacteria that live on or inside you. The vast majority (greater than 99%) of them either are beneficial to your body chemisitry, are actually involved in your body chemistry because your body makes them, or don't do anything positive or negative against your body.

The varieties that actually openly are jerks toward your body are exceptionally few.

Mites, arachnids in the same class as spiders and scorpions, are not bacteria. There are more dust mites in your room than there are people in the United States, and there are likely millions on you at this very moment. What kills bacteria may be insufficient to kill them. If you're doing this at home, there will inevitably be thousands in your sample.

On the other hand, you say you also see regular cells. You shouldn't see any insects (or any animals, for that matter), and yet unicellular organisms such as bacteria and protists do not resemble insects.

I hope you can understand if I'm just a bit skeptical about the whole thing (EDIT: not saying you're making things up, just that you may have misinterpreted something).
