Favorite MLP Shipping and Why?

I'm gonna have to go with Rarijack as my favorite... The two are just so opposite of each other that it works almost perfectly. With Applejack's brashness and Rarity's drama would be quite entertaining if they were a couple.

I agree with this as well in terms with the whole opposites attract concept and all.

 

In this case, would Twilight and Pinkie Pie work? I'm not sure if they're actually opposites.

I've already shown my appreciation and adoration for a few other couples, but I'll list them again in case any other random person perusing these boards hasn't stumbled upon my posts already.

And while I do understand  the idea of Fluttershy/Rainbow Dash, I've never really liked it. I don't know, just a personal preference.

Hmm.... Twilight and Pinkie... I think that would work! I think they would be an interesting couple! I think Big Mac would also be an interesting pair with Pinkie... since they are extreme opposites.

The only couple I've ever really considered is Rainbow/Applejack

 

They've got a lot in common.They're both althletic, and honesty and loyalty are their main, defining traits (Although with Rainbow it's more about brutal honesty). I could see their key differences balancing each other out. Applejack could get Rainbow to stop napping so much and get some work done, While RD can help Applejack take a break once in a while and have some fun.

 

It's a double-edge sword though, those differences could just as easily cause major strife between them. Doesn't help that they're both pretty stubborn too. Still though, if the two of them learned to trust one another and work together, I bet it would lead to a healthy relationship.

 

 

I also think Celestia/Discord is an interesting idea. That they were involved with each other but had a falling out. I do enjoy some Foe Yay.

Hello. The line between "Which Ponies are Best for Each Other" and "What is Your Favorite Ship" is fairly minimal, and because the responses to your thread seemed to be simply sharing favorite pairings and reasoning behind them, I have merged your thread with this existing one.

I never really understood the appeal of FlutterDash... never liked it at all. Don't get me wrong, I love their friendship, but I love every Mane 6 friendship, so it's not really anything to go by at all...as for shippings I DO like?

 

Spike/Rarity - positive interaction = HUGE DAWW.

Doctor Whooves/Derpy - You know it's meant to be.

Applejack/Rarity. (About the only Mane 6 pairing I like - I have no problems with lesbian ships, but it's personally not something I'm comfortable with, if that makes sense) - The way they compliment each other through being so opposite is amazing.

Discord/Pinkie Pie - I don't know, I just ALWAYS prefered this one. Even against Fluttershy/Discord, I'd rather have Pinkie/Discord.

Discord/Fluttershy - Cute since I saw "Keep Calm and Flutter On.". Adorkable in general.

I'm not that into shipping, but Lyra and Bon-Bon may as well be canon at this point.

 

And if I were into shipping I'd say FlutterDash is pretty good. Of all the mane six, they've been friends the longest. Rainbow Dash cares a lot about Fluttershy. A good example of this is the opening of Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000. Rainbow needs to get to the line has fast as she possibly can - right after picking up Fluttershy. 'Dorable. There are a few other good examples but since I don't ship I'll just stick with them being really, really good friends.

Usually, I'm not interested in shipping, but however there is this one shipping that I like. Its Big Macintosh and Rainbow Dash. I am probably in a minority of people who like MacxDash shipping.

I would say the best take of shipping would be Pony-in-a-Box's Octavia x Vinyl Scratch. Mainly because their versions of the characters in 'The Vinyl Scratch Tapes' are so well realized. Whenever I see other interpretations of that ship, I automatically compare it to that series, or mentally re-write as necessary to make it fit into that series.

 

I guess that's my thing. I don't care about shipping 'as such'. I care about how well the shipping works within the specific story/series. It's up to the writer (and VAs & animators in the relevant media) to make it work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

So recently I got into shipping characters together, and the one which stuck out the most (in the best of ways) was Twilight x Rainbow Dash. I can't explain why I see them working together so well, maybe its the whole way Dashie prefers to act upon impulse, while Twilight tends to plan things out more before doing them. Moreover, they are my favorite couple right now. 

 

If anybody has any stories with them feel free to let me know, as I've already read a bunch of them and still have a craving for them

Fluttershy is only quiet because she's scared... Big MacIntosh simply has nothing to say anyway. so he keeps his mouth shut to not make himself sound ignorant.

If you support both Sparity and Rarijack, that only makes Applejack lesbian. It makes Rarity bi and/or Spike bi...gamous. I'm sorry I had to make that pun.

 

Sparity all the way. It's really the only shipping that I could actually see potentially happening in the show. Plus Spike and Rarity are my two favourite characters from the show

I think if there was a 7th element of harmony of love, I reckon Spike would be the one to wear it. He certainly expresses the most amount of love for people than anyone else (at least out in the open more than being subtle about it), and part of his character is being the hopeless romantic after all

I think Spike's element would actually be freewill. What accessory would contain his element anyway? I can't see him wearing a necklace... probably a wristwach.
