HOW DARE YOU. HARRY POTTER IS ONE OF THE BEST FANDOMS AND SERIES EVER. THIS IS A CRIME. A CRIME. Strawberry Tart's Scripts: 1. Thou shalt not hate Harry Potter.

BOOM! To be fair, I tend to think the same about a lot of fantasy movies so I won't single out Harry Potter. I mean visually it's an amazing film, and I can see why people enjoy it. It's just not my thing...

I'm glad to see many others haven't seen The Walking Dead. Add me to the list :P   Never watched it.  The other show I keep being told to watch is Game of Thrones. I haven't gotten around to that either, but whenever someone brings up tv shows that always comes up!

I've never seen an episode of that show with the ponies.

Just kidding. I've never seen any of the Ghostbusters movies, any Back to the Future movies, or any Monty Python movies. And, like everyone else it seems, I've never seen The Walking Dead, although it does look pretty good.

  • 1 year later...
(edited)

How the heck did this topic ever die?  It's an interesting discussion idea (and a thread that I was going to make, provided it didn't already exist).

Anyway, I have seen neither Frozen or The Lego Movie.  As far as TV shows go, I've never seen Sherlock.  Come to think of it, there's a lot of movies and TV I've never seen.  It kinda sucks because everbody's like "OMG look at that pop culture reference!" and I'm like "Uh...okay?"

Of course, there's movies I've "seen," but for one reason or another wasn't doing much to pay attention, and therefore quite potentially missed a lot.  I think Lord of the Rings falls under this category, but only the first because I haven't seen the others.

Oh, did I mention that I've never really gotten around to watching the first three episodes in the Star Wars franchise?  I'm vaguely familiar with the material (thanks pop culture osmosis), but can't really offer any "real" opinions because I have none to give.

It's a bit comforting to read some of these replies.  It's kinda nice to know there's people who are just in the dark as you.

Speaking of unwatched material (and this related to older stuff), I hadn't seen any of the BTTF films until I got a 3 DVD set back in like...2007 or whatever.  I also had never seen Who Framed Roger Rabbit until just last year.

Maybe it's just me, but I think it's a real pain in the butt to take the time to sit down and watch stuff, which explains all the tons of things I haven't seen.  Also, spending time online is addictive.

You can list any live-action TV show and I most likely haven't seen it. I really only watch cartoons, because the themes and genres of live-action shows are not my cup of tea (like, when I see the line-up of TV shows all I see are action, forensics, unfunny sitcoms, zombies, and reality TV. PASS!)

I've seen more movies, but not so much in recent years.

(Divert all power to barriers)

There are some glaring holes in my library including but not limited to:

  • Game of Thrones
  • Harry Potter
  • The Sopranos
  • Star Trek TOS
  • Pulp Fiction
  • The Big Lebowski
  • Any show on MTV
  • The Big Bang Theory
  • Pokemon
  • Dexter

I've just been to busy watching other shows, finishing up my last semester, or playing games (Mostly games).

Agreed, it's nice to see that there are others who are behind the curve like me! I see you mentioned The Lego movie and Sherlock, the funny thing is on Sunday I went and saw T.L.M. and just last night I was bingeing Sherlock on Netflix :squee:

If I hear a lot of hype about a show/movie it means it either is really good or really bad with a few that fall in between.

Remember how I mentioned not getting pop culture references of some things because I've never seen a movie?  Well, MLP references are not immune.  I didn't know about The Big Lebowski ponies until I read about it, and I STILL haven't actually watched the movie.  I also didn't get the whole Risky Business thing.  I honestly don't really know too much about the movies.  With Lebowski, I know it's something about bowling.  With Business, I have absolutely no idea.  Sounds like some kind of psychological thriller or something.

Movies:

Back to the Future - My family is ashamed of me for not watching it. I keep telling myself to, but I never do. I'm not a big movie person anyway.

Most of Star Wars - I've seen episodes I and IV, but after seeing countless parodies which already explained the whole plot to me, there's basically no need to see the rest.

Almost every Disney movie - I grew up with some of the early 2000's stuff like The Emperor's New Groove and Atlantis: The Lost Empire. But after seeing the absolute classics like Alice in Wonderland and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, I realised how I was missing out.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - I've actually seen it up to Two Towers - Part One, and I just lost interest afterwards. I couldn't understand what was going on anymore, and I must've got bored with it.

TV shows:

Adventure Time - I'm always hearing about it being one of the best things currently on. I really want to check it out, but damn, I keep forgetting.

Regular Show - Is it any good? That's my main question.

The Venture Bros. - Again, is it any good? It looks appealing to me, but even if we had Adult Swim, I wouldn't have the time to watch it.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force - I'm not sure about this one. I've seen just one clip, and I'm not sure if I would appreciate it, but what do others think?
