Lyra is really kicking butt and taking names. I never thought Lyra would be the underdog in this tournament, but I'm pretty sure some people won't accept the fact about who made the finals and who earned it.

Meh, kind of useless to go about questioning reasons for voting IMO. Everyone has a reason, it may not satisfy you specifically but if it's good enough for them then it is what it is. Although maybe that's just me. Ever since my top 6 choices to win this thing got eliminated before the semis  and the final is between my #9 and my #13 I've been strictly in "Enjoy the show" mode . (Not much of a show ATM though)

I've been here as well since Dash, Spitfire, etc lost :3 Now that I don't care who wins, it's just a waiting game till the round is over. While I don't care for Lyra nor understand how she came this far, nor where her avalanche of support came from, it doesn't bug me. It's a tournament about one aspect, at one point in time, there's no real entitlement to winning these tournaments, and I'd be saying the same thing even if Dash had won. All it is, is a point for fans of the winning character to be happy for a little bit.

I want to see reasons for why some people are going against a perfectly developed pony that took time to make and instead choosing the pony that probably took 30 mins to make with a random "minty" color scheme.

Something about Lyra winning streak just bugs me a little bit... It would be better, if anyone would won except her.

A large part of me scream" "get the h*** out of competition", the other small part says: "Stay quiet and be a sport"...

It just me when something gets an enormous amount of support and popularity I just want to get away from that, and it annoys me so much when people cram it everywhere...

Quite often, when it cool downs, I start to like the object of that  "divine" popularity, but it's not mandatory to happen...

But I will defend the flutters:

"Shy and Hordes Animals"

WELL EXCUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS.

This pony's job is to mainly take care of animals, nurse them back to health, and feed them.

She spends her time treating animals like they are her babies. 

She has excellent talent with talking to animals.

This is one of her major flaws, but also a cute personality trait.

She actually can crack and become a very assertive pony when she needs to be one.

Well I'm not sure if anyone else is seeing this...BUT EVERYPONY is sitting like this now, so Lyra really isn't too big of a deal anymore.

When you really look at it, Lyra is just a green colgate that plays the harp and nothing more.

Not saying voting for her is bad or anything, but I'm not really seeing any constructive reasons on WHY you're voting for either pony.

To be honest I don't care who wins I just don't want the flutters to basically get shitted on. Don't get me wrong Lyra is attractive, but it kind of sucks to see Fluttershy getting completely demolished by 20pts.

Like the 49ers, although they didn't win, they made themselves look at least good, but I guess making it to the magic bowl is a pretty good achievement anyway.

I don't think all or even most of the Lyra voters are trolls, I noticed her being rather popular before this tournament. Well, her mane style is kind of... nice, I guess. I still hate mint (seriously, I can't stand it, I even use a special toothpaste) - but many people don't, and that's fine.

 

But Fluttershy... she sure is such a very lovely pony and all, but she also has something else... it's hard to point out, something deeper, hidden in the way she smiles... does anypony know what I'm talking about?

hate to say it but that's competition for ya...the superbowl, this vote, world series or even regular games. Sometimes people lose by large margins. It is still more than possible that she could make a comeback or sleepers will vote at the last second.I mean she has already turned a 40 vote deficit into 23...that's a huge move

 

Although I did have to laugh when someone pointed out that this contest is flawed because the wins that Rarity and Fluttershy had would have changed the seeds up...oh well

I personally like Lyra better....wait, Twi got beaten? Aw, come on! Ugh, anyway, voted Lyra just because of this picture I saw a couple of days ago in a blog post about this thread. Ironic, isn't it? I'm very surprised how much Lyra is kicking flank, I expected Fluttershy to be in the lead after looking at the finalists, Lyra looks more like the underdog.

 

Most of this thread i've been just kicking back and enjoying the show, and that's what I shall continue to do.

Makes me a bit sad to see Fluttershy losing but oh well... I think she's absolutely adorable! And even though I've watched all the MLP episodes, I have yet to re-watch them... I honestly should cause I have probably one of the worst memories ever and I can't seem to recall who Lyra is. I think her color is pretty as well as her cutie mark but the only thing throwing me off is her manestyle. It's just not that pretty compared to Fluttershy's... Plus I love the color pink so Fluttershy gets extra points for that.

Fluttershy is too shy to do the stare at people, but I know she's quite used to meh so she was all happeh to see me when I voted.

Its only animals and discord she is confident enough to do the stare at, so there is no possible way that she could have done such madness.

Losing you're cake is pretty heartbraking Tails, but seeing an unknown species of bird DIE right in front of you... That's gotta push you past the edge. I mean... Sympathy points here folks? This pony has seen real tragedy... And faced down a dragon! For the sake of PONYVILLE! If it weren't for her, Lyra might not be in this competition at all......

 

Maybe I could sum this up to one pony who just blows me away and the other... Yeah, that's cool and awesome, but not mind-blowing. I mean... Seriously... MIND BLOWING! Think about it. You're mind is blown when you think about Fluttershy. Jump all around. Smile. Harness the power of Kindness.

Maybe, no one knows... Well self awareness is a powerful thing. It was my sign of good will to share that with you Lyra fans. I'm pretty sure many of you had the same at some point, and I'm sure I can control it. There's also something reversed, some people tend to be attracted to people or things that are already popular, what about that?

 

In conclusion it's not really important how people voted that way, and not another, cause even if we find out it won't change anything. And in a way it balances itself out...
