Do you read the entire thread before replying?

It depends on how many posts there already is. In general I don't read them all if there is at least 2 pages.

Nah, I don't. I'll just reply based on either the title or the first post. I'll just read one or two pages if I do attempt to read an entire thread, though.

Lmfao no what does your first post even say?

Honestly, I try to read more into it if it's a full on discussion but otherwise I annoying post my opinion.

I usually read the first page, and the last page - as that's where my reply will be - unless it's a topic that I truly like, in which case I'll wander through a number of pages

I usually try to read the whole thing, especially if it's about a hot-button issue.  But if it's not a hot-button issue and it's long, like this one...then I just read the OP and then post my reply.

...I wonder how many other people said pretty much what I just did...?  Now I'm motivated to go back over the thread and and read it all so I can count!

Pretty much what Evilshy said. If the thread is some sort of intense discussion about like adoption or something I always read it all to be able to tell people my points better or reply to others but if the thread is like "coke vs pepsi" or "what are you doing right now?" I will probably not read it all.

However, if it is a thread I have created myself I always read the replies for some reason :P

I may read the first few posts, but I usually just scan through the first post to get the idea of what's going on in thread, then I'll reply. Only after that do I actually make sure no one has replied before me with pretty much the same thing, hahah.

Depends entirely on what the thread is about. For example, on this thread, I read the title and now I'm posting, no reading required :derp: . Many other times, like the "Why is Lyra Best Pony?" thread I just commented in, I read the entire thread because I didn't want to risk repeating what a previous poster said. But, on a thread like this one where that's not really possible, I'll either post right away or read a few for my own enjoyment, but I rarely make it all the way through the thread without getting sort of bored.

If it's only one page, I will scan through, or just read it. On a multipage thread, like this one has become, I'll read the OP, and the a few posts on the last page to see where the conversation is. But my replies are usually directed at the OP. :derp:

Only if it's a couple pages long or full of interesting replies. If not then I just read the first couple pages then the last few posts on the last page and see if they quote anything worth noting, then I follow the quote and read the replies to that.

If the thread title is a question, I prefer to skip the posts and get right to the reply. For roleplays and show discussion, I try to read the entire thread before replying.
