Reading isn't really a favorite hobby of mine I could never really get into it I used to read a bit when I was younger but kind of stopped as I got older.

Yeah, I love to read. I read before I go to sleep almost every night XD. I usually just read a chapter of the Harry potter book I'm reading.

The last thing that I read was the collection of Appendices for Tolkien's Lord of The Rings History mythology.

That, and some video game text, of course.

Staring beyond; up past the moon - - - will we reach the stars yet soon?

Met quick with loss; no sure response - - - men reach up high with their thoughts.

How high it goes; still no one knows - - - the likes of which search thick in droves.

Yet looking far; up near the stars - - - truth knows no better than we are.

With silver thread; and clouded head - - - blissful 'neath the darkened dune.

I love reading!  Though lately, I've been neglecting my books for some strange reason...  I have been reading fan-fiction instead, if that counts!

I would always get hyped up when starting a book and I would read excitedly until about half way and then just get plain bored of it. More than half the books on my bookshelf have bookmarks sticking out of the middle section. I recommend 'A Brief History of Time'.

Back when I was in elementary and middle school, I had to read books then take quizzes on them for a 100 point grade. I must have read at least one hundred books. ohmy.png  Nowadays I don't read books, but I do read pony fanfics, mainly shipping fanfics. That is about all I read.tongue.png

If I'm not reading textbooks or software manuals (and note that, most of the time, those weren't imposed on me from the outside), I'm reading history books or novels. And if I'm not doing that, I'm probably on the Internet...reading. News articles, fanfiction, whatever. Reading is overwhelmingly, in some guise or another, both my dominant leisure and work activity.

So...yeah. I really love reading.

Yes. I read both e-books on my Kindle Fire, and I read regular physical copies of books. I have over 100 books on my Kindle I still need to read (including a majority of Stephen King Books). One of these days, I plan on reading for a whole day. Nothing is better than being nuzzled under a warm blanket while it's raining outside and while reading a good book.

Reading is one of my greatest joys next to listening to music (often the two go hand in hand for me). I just picked up the novelization of Battle Royale and am very excited to get started on it.

Yeah, I read often, for a few reasons:

- I'm rather shy, so reading is my way of escaping

- Reading enlarges my vocabulary (I think)

- Sometimes I just find reading more fun than playing video games or watching TV shows. When you're reading (And writing), your imagination is the limit!

If anypony wants a great fantasy series, I recommend The Inheritance Cycle series by Christopher Paolini. Seriously, those books were great to read, last a long time and tell an interesting story in a detailed world.

Ten bucks says I've posted in this topic before. (Monopoly money, of course  )

I don't really read books. There's something about long blocks of text that turns me away. I've always been more of a comic reader and I spent 90% of my free time playing video games anyway and that keeps me pretty occupied.

It's not that I don't enjoy books when I do read them, I just never find the time to do it since I'm pretty satisfied with other things. The few times I've tried to start books I always felt like reading a comic or playing a game instead anyway.

There are a lot of books I wanna read for the sake of reading them though, a lot of them sci-fi stuff that makes me question what's real and what's not. I've been told to read Isaac Asimov's works as well as Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe and such. There's a lot of classics I've missed.

I love reading though if anyone ever met me they would swear otherwise, I mostly love reading books based off games like the Diablo, Warcraft or Starcraft books. Most books I read tend to be fantasy based I hate books that are based in a Modern time period. I also enjoy reading Manga and web comics yay LFG

Yup biggrin.png I mostly read fiction, but i do enjoy reading non-fiction every now and then. It's a very enjoyable hobby, and there's just so much to read out there that you'll always have something to look forward to. It's also a nice way to pass the time.

Besides books, I also enjoy reading MLP fanfictions ^-^

I read all the time, and have at least one book with me at all times. My friends always come to my little "library" to borrow my books because they know I'm the one to come to for that sort of thing. Recently, I've read The Hobbit & LOTR trilogy (...again), Dark Places, Openly Straight, and Tarzan of the Apes. I'm always looking for new things to read and am pretty open to any and all genres.

I sometimes do.  I don't read books I don't like unless I'll have to when I go to college, which would be miserable.  I do enjoy reading books I like though.  Also, do reading Manga count?  If so, then I read those a lot. =P

Let's put it this way. I like to read lots of scientific and historical papers about the topics I'm researching. I like reading books that intrigue me, like the music history books and the like. Most of the time though, I only read because I have papers to work on that require a lot of reading. I don't really read as a hobby at the moment.

I used to read, Harry Potter for example but I don't read now unless it's something for school. I don't have the time and I don't really want to either. I'm not interested in books, not really. I read comics though, online ones.. So that's something and also posts so I guess I read I just don't read books a lot.

So I would say that I read rarely.

I love reading! I've been reading fluently since I was 5! I even used to take books in school and read there. My friend there kept saying: "Come on! Leave this book, pay attention to me!" so I eventually stopped. But I still read. I always read something (not like 24/7 always, but I always have something I'm reading at the moment). And I'm crazy about books! I have so many books at home and I can't read them all, because I constantly buy new ones.

My favourite authors are Terry Pratchett, R. A Salvatore, Agatha Christie, George R.R. Martin, Tolkien. And I love Harry Potter, of course! I can read pretty much any genre, depending of the mood.

When the Game of Thrones series became a hit, my first reaction was to check the books, not the series. ;D I started the series when I had read all 5 books.

Right now I'm reading "Metro 2033" by Dmitry Glukhovsky. It's a post apocalyptic fantasy roman and the story takes place in Moscow. They made a PC game after it. I think it's pretty good horror/action game. The book reminds me a lot of the Fallout reality and I'm crazy about Fallout.

I used to, all the time, mostly documentary stuff, where I actually learned something. And my favorite book is about dragons. Historical stuff. tongue.png

But well, I don't read books as often now, but I spend my days reading. School, forums, Wikipedia, all kind of stuff.
