It's a strange thing indeed. Maybe we have just more very passionate fans? Whatever it may be, or goddess deserves as much though!

All glory to the Queen! Kinda gets me wondering why the other FCs have so few posts. Did they formerly have more? I'm new.

 

Like OS said, this FC became something special and skyrocketed. All of us not only celebrate the character, we all do so for different reasons, and approach our appreciation from different angles. For some its a genuine love, no different than I have for my wife. For others it's pure character adoration almost in literary sense (me), and some just thinks she's hawt.

 

Not only that, but here you find so many varied individuals, different countries, philosophical leanings, and age groups ...  it's mind blowing. Really, this FC is like a microcosm of the Brony fandom in general. At least the better parts of it. .

 

Not that the other clubs are not inclusive, the AJ one is a fav of mine to read even if I don't post there much.

My reason is that, well, I identify strongly with her element. I'm not appearance-conscious like her... in fact, a lot of my surface traits are the opposite of hers. But in her willingness to give things up, I find her extremely relatable. Twilight is probably the pony I'm most like overall, but definitely doesn't have the same "core" as Rarity does.

 

I suppose seeing yourself in one of the Mane 6 is another reason.

Obsidian was generous enough to gift me a game on Steam today, and I've been playing it for the past few hours

I've given her a lot of silly nicknames (my most original one being Princess Marshmallow Jewelbutt ) but the one I use the most is Rarebear, but Destiny came up with that one

Anyway, personally, I can see Rarity being all Peach-like, waiting for Mario/Dash to come rescue her, then Bowser/(insert villain here) would come and try to pick her up or something and she wouldn't want to be touched by that monster's grubby hands, so she'd karate kick them into the corner and scold the living end out of them until they just left her alone. She'd probably just walk out the door if Mario/Dash took too long and Bowser/whoever would be scared to say anything about it
