Ways the brony fandom could improve.

With the brony fandom has come many talented musicans,Artists and writers as well as a sense of community and creative inspriation. While Many good things have come from the fandom there has also been the sense of trouble withen the fandom. In what ways do you believe the fandom needs to improve. Any ways you think would improve the genreal feel of a "Love and Tolerate" community?

I think that we need a power structure to create full length episodes and movies, it's taking individual animators way too long to make content.I believe that it would be easy to churn out 90 min movies every week with some sort of power structure and cooperation.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

A good lot of the fandom isn't Loving or Tolerating the new Princess... Although, that is pretty obvious.

I also think that people shouldn't go apesh*t when some other ignorant human being insults the show. There aren't many of those people out there, but they need to go. Nopony should start a war over ponies

I also agree with Khaine

The best things to be done to improve the fandom would be...

(01) Stop all the talk of "Coming out as a Brony.". It's just a cartoon, get a grip people! How do you dare compare it to the emotional pain and drama of coming out as homosexual or lesbian to your family and friends? Keep this firmly in mind. One is your life, the other is a 22 minute show on TV, that nobody really cares if you watch or not! There is no other show on TV that people feel this asinine need to "Confess" that they watch. "Oh, woe is me! How do I come out and tell people that I watch NCIS, and Adventure Time?"

(02) Put an end to the "How can I force others to like something because I like it?" The way a lot of Bronies cram the show down the throats of everyone they meet is what started people thinking there is something wrong with the fandom in the first place!

That's not a very good idea, considering what happened with Mane6. The cease and desist orders would fly if such a thing were attempted!

I like the Brony fandom how it is. Most people I know that aren't Bronies think that Bronydom is a cult, and I think the reason for that is that some Beonies are trying to make it one. Extremism isn't good with anything. I think that some radical Bronies just need to calm down. However, I feel like that's getting better.

I think one way we could improve is kinda linked to the whole Twilicorn business.

Respecting other people's opinions, and general respect.

For example, when Season 3 ended, some people were in an uproar, others were completely fine about the ending. However, there were a group of people who I noticed that were constantly flaming and attacking the people who disliked the end of Season 3, or the Season in general.

People saying things like 'hurr durr you're not a true brony because you didn't like the episode'.

These are statements that I find ridiculous and are just plain stupid. Just by writing that statement, you're almost contradicting yourself entirely.

Despite this however, we all need to remember that we should still love each other. Even though I am having periods of misanthropy, I think that we need to know what it's like being another person, and like I said, statements like that make the fandom bad, and make you look like a hypocrite.

We should all continue to love and tolerate each other, even though that statement has essentially become a way to fight trolls.

I don't think everybody wants to make it appear that telling somebody they watch MLP is almost the same as "Coming out", I think its more the fact that Media coverage on Bronies is usually fairly negative and leads to people believing Bronies are man-childs or that they are homosexual or that all bronies are "Cloppers". the negative media coverage leads to narrow-minded views on bronies and makes Bronies nervous about telling people. It is simply human nature for one to want to appear normal to society which is why many don't know whether to tell anybody they watch MLP:FIM.

This is some of the reasons that bronies get a bad name because some make it appear like a cult and try and force people to watch the show that have no intrest in it.

I don't think the fandom is going to change anytime soon. I think it would be best to just leave it the way it is.

But I know what you're getting at. As much good that can come out of the fandom atmosphere, there's plenty of bad. Like fandom extremists, intolerant jerks, the people that take the show too seriously, and intentionally creepy people.

But to be honest, this fandom isn't really going to change.

Stop being over dramatic about a highly foreseeable change in the show, don't act all offended if someone says they don't like ponies, don't bash them for hating ponies, don't get offended by cloppers (I'm not one but I don't see why it's such a big deal) avoid stuff you don't like, such as clopping and gore, and don't get mad because someone has a different opinion than you on the forums or in real life. Of course, I know that won't happen, but it really does need to happen.

One thing that bothers me is the hate of /mlp/.

I was watching the Unicon livestream the other day and people were somehow blaming 4chan for the problems the con had... yeah

 post-12045-0-87819900-1361920337.gif

I know they hate bronies but we're supposed to love and tolerate so blaming them for every bad little thing that happens to the community appears to me as plain stupid.

Apart from that, I think we need the music to be a little more original. I have nothing against dubstep and similar genres, I actually listen to quite a bit of it but we don't really need so many talentless remixes, I'd much rather see more acoustic stuff for example.

'Tis a great fandom nonetheless and I'm perfectly fine with it staying just the way it is.

I don't really see anything wrong with the fandom aside from the ridiculous drama from the Season 3 finale. We need more rights, to put up full episodes and make more content to use.

Hope you don't mind me saying, but said "ridiculous drama" was our response to poor choice to terms of story. While I agree many of us over-reacted while some of us just said "roll with it" starting a war inside of the community, it did kinda feel like they were forcing it down on us. Personally I'm OK with the whole princess thing and it was bound to happen eventually, but I think that making it happen in the last eight min. of the episode was not cool, and it didn't feel like Twilight really did anything incredible to earn it. Well now I feel awkward because I probably just created more drama. Oh well... xD

There's a rather large group of people which could finally quit telling other people which types of fanart they are allowed to like and which not. It can be so depressing to see bronies plainly hating other bronies for having different tastes. I mostly think of common grimdark works while writing this.

On the other hand it would also help if another group of people would quit annoying others with exactly the things these don't like and/ or counter hate with hate... so yeah, missing the love and more important the tolerance sometimes.

I think it's more a thing of how people behave in general and won't stop. But I still dare say this fandom is better than any other community you'll find, especially in this respect.

I do agree with this above statement.  Most of my friends do think that any guy who watches MLP is a homosexual.  The "coming out as a Brony" movement solidifies their accusation to the fullest letter.  Like you said, it's just a cartoon.

The reason why I joined the Brony movement was because all sorts of talented individuals - artists, writers, videomakers, songwriters - were posting such good pieces of art on the Internet.  After seeing such high quality work, I just had to join the herd :)

People need to stop bitching about Rule 34 and clopping. MANY shows have Rule 34 stuff, now calm your tits down. I'm also not a very big fan of brony music. Most of it is remixes and stuff I'm not really into.

well for starters, I would have to say that if there's anything you don't like like about the show or any sort of news that happens that you don't particularly agree with... don't make such a big issue of it before it comes to pass

Example

Alicorn Twilight...

when news of Twilight Sparkle becoming an Alicorn came up, it started the most ridiculous uproar in our fandom.

arguments were popping up, people leaving the fandom for that reasoning alone

it was just a huge mess...

and then lo and behold, it was really nothing to be all upset about...

Hasbro actually handled it well

then we have people hating on others within the fandom for "clopping"

honestly, that's the one thing about this fandom that really irks me...

this labeling thing really sucks

if someone does that then... whatever, don't hate them for it

We need sharks, sharks with laser beams on their heads. If we had that, we would be the ultimate fandom, and possibly the rulers of the galaxy.

While I understand where you are coming from and agree that it is just a show and therefore shouldn't be a big deal society unfortunately does not see it that way. Society sees it as a show for little girls and only little girls and therefore anyone watching it who is not a little girl must be either homosexual, an overgrown man child pasty faced loser living in their parents basement or a pedophile all of which we know is completely ridiculous but there are alot of people out there that are really stupid enough to believe that crap and are willing to make bronies lives miserable due to that ignorance. I think that the comparisons to coming out are made not out of any disrespect for what gays are going through as they are hated even more than bronies are as despite the haters most people either don't know about bronies or don't care but as someone who has gone through bullying before I can understand where the "closeted bronies" are coming from. Personally while I don't go out of my way to tell everyone I don't go out of my way to hide it either, I seriously don't care who knows or dosen't know but still.

(02) Put an end to the "How can I force others to like something because I like it?" The way a lot of Bronies cram the show down the throats of everyone they meet is what started people thinking there is something wrong with the fandom in the first place!

Yeah that comes off even to most bronies who are reasonable people as extremely desperate and creepy. I can understand why a brony would want to meet other bronies but there are much healthier more productive ways of doing it without pissing people off, introducing people to the show is one thing but cramming it down peoples throats is another. A good friend of mine introduced me to this show but he wasn't pushy or forceful about it, and since he has introduced me to plenty of other great things and hasn't steered me wrong I figured the worst that could happen was I wouldn't like it but I did and the rest is history.

The two main ways I think bronies could improve is this

Stop scapegoating cloppers: I have heard all sorts of comments about how cloppers are supposedly "making us look bad" or "not bronies" or are "so called fans" and it gets old real fast. Not every brony is into clopping and this is of course understandable but it dosen't make any sense to me why cloppers in particular are singled out when every single fandom has a segment that is into the rule 34 side yet they get as much crap for it.

Can we please respect each other about twilicorn: We all have our different opinions on that matter and that is fine but I am getting a little tired of hearing all the comment about how twilicorn critics should "stop complaining". Yes I get it some twilicorn opponents have over reacted a bit even I as opponent will admit to that but can we focus on attacking the argument and not the person please?

I am not the one to try and say what the fandom should do. Instead of being extra critical about episodes or changes we ought to try and be more open to change and let the creators work with the show. By getting defensive and angry we should have patience and wait for the next season to come. That and not trying to act like being a brony is a bad thing because it is not! I have seen a lot of bronies try and act as if being one is the worst decision they have made in their whole lives. Just enjoy what you like and ignore what other people think about you. There is no way you can please everyone in this world and you just have to accept that.

Also, I have another complaint: People need to stop clinging to rumors and Reddit/Tumblr "leaks" that were never backed by what actually happened, or were downright jossed by by the staff as the be-all-end-all, divine, word of God.

I feel like the fandom is amazing the way it is right now. With great writers, artist and musicians this fandom has topped the list for me. However, there is a few of the fans that are a bit concentric. These one percent of people make certain people dislike the fandom. My best friend, and is still, has always hated bronies. He still hates bronies, and his only argument is he hates the fans not the show. He is the only person that i told this i watch mlp that thinks this. Others just dont care at all. Also he hates the fans because he hates how we center our lives around the show. He tells me that we got to remember its a children show and people shouldnt go this crazy for any show emphasis on the any.  You know what he is right. No matter any way I look at it we do take the show too seriously.
