My first true anime (not pokemon because the average American has seen it once without being into anime like that or a lot of little kids knowing what that is) was Gurren Lagann. I was in the crazy hospital and they had computer access and I heard so much from a friend about it I decided to check it out.

I think the first anime I have ever watched was...either Gundam Wing or CardCaptor Sakura. I loved those shows so much, I then moved on to Pokemon, Digimon, Sailor Moon, and Ghost in the Shell. Since then I've been watching anime all of my life, and I wouldn't give that up for the world.

Now I'm an Otaku with a very large collection of manga, and anime. I am a part of a local anime group. I mostly end up being the one who has to bring the dvd's of every show that gets decided for the month xD.

Pokemon was my first, and remains one of my favorites. Not too long after, I also got kind of into the Big O and Cowboy Bebob, both of which are now at top spots.

Granted, those three are really the only ones I watch (I'm not too into anime), but they're still some of my favorite shows. I wish they'd be on more often. huh.png

Indeed.

I must have been like 6 or 7 years old when I saw this on my tv screen

Im almost sure this was the first anime I saw and it blew up my mind on the last chapter the girl dies when a truck hit her A F'NG TRUCK! what a good way to end a series. Other than that i remember watching Mazinger Z, Astroboy and Saint Seyia during elementary school.

Astro Boy was technically the first anime I ever watched but it didn't get me deeper into anime. Twenty years later and I'm only just now getting into One Piece. And I watched the entire series of Itsura Na Kiss in two weeks for some reason, which is strange because I'm usually not into romance.

Well, I would say Pokemon, but almost everyone has seen it once in their life and I only saw it a few times, so I won't mention it. But the first anime I ever watched was Angel Beats! It was a very funny but extremely touching show and the characters are awesome. I highly recommend it.

First I ever watched was Robotech... My dad dragged me to a showing of Shadow Chronicles at the local theater and I had a blast... As for television, if I remember my first was Highschool of the Dead.

The first anime I ever saw were reruns of Speed Racer when I was 4.   In middle school I saw a lot of stuff thanks to my brothers that was a little more cutting edge and adult, like Fist of the North Star or Akira, but it wasn't until I saw Ranma 1/2 when I was a sophmore in high school that I officially became an otaku.  That was in 1994, by the way.

First one was Dragon Ball Z. At the time it seemed like the best show ever. Every time I see an episode today I get a nostalgia attack.

I saw parts of episodes here and there when I was a kid, but I never really cared for anime until recently. Then I got Netflix and decided to start watching anime properly.

First one I watched seriously was Last Exile, which left a very good first impression. It gets a bit childlish at times, and there are a few CGI fails, but it's full of dieselpunk awesomness. I definitely recommend it.

The very first anime I've actually watched was Dragonball GT, we went on vacation in Spain and that's where I saw it. After that I think Dragonball Z and Shaman King were the ones I've seen in my own language.

I remember I was completely mesmerized by the Dragonball, I just couldn't tear my eyes off the screen! Good times..

The first anime I would've watched as a child was "Digimon" (totally was aware of Pokemon, just never watched it myself).  Not a bad show to start out watching anime on, especially in the early seasons.  Seasons 1-3 were quite good in some respects actually, although I am glad that they stopped circulating it at normal hours after Season 4 began because Season 4 probably would've p*ssed me off to watch.  Basically like Pokemon but with FAR more emphasis on a continuous, overarching plot, at least in the early seasons.

The first anime I watched was Spirited Away, when I was 7. Fast forward many years later, I heard about this neat anime called "Death Note" and decided to give it a shot out of curiosity. I loved it and decided to get more into anime, and now I watch them  pretty regularly.

My first anime was Yi-Gi-Oh, the good one not this GX garbage, anyway everyone at our class played it and I remeber many found memories of playing the card game. Plus is spawned the abridged series, and that was hullarious!

I think the first time I ever saw an anime was when I was a kid. It was Digimon, Dual Masters and Pokemon, but I had no clue what on earth an anime was at the time, so I simply regarded them as cartoons.

Therefore, I don't really think that counts, so the first one I watched that actually got me into anime was "Girls und Panzer".

The first anime that I watched was Pokemon because my little brother was watching it. I never got into it, in fact I'm still not a big fan of anime. blink.png

My first were Dragon Ball Z and Yugioh. I always watched them since I lived with my older cousin at the time, I was 7 and he was 10. Whatever he was watching I was watching. Later I got into Avatar: The Last Airbender, even though that isn't considered an anime but it it is very anime influenced.

That was back in the nineties. Dragon Ball. Oh, what wonderful memories... too bad my parents never let me watch at the time of the day they showed them here on TV. Had to watch at friend's... But then I got my own TV and watched everything else (on You Tube and such, too). DBZ, Conan, Inu Yasha, One Piece, Sailor Moon and my all-time favorite Neon Genesis Evangelion.
