I always thought Red from the first two Pokemon generations was a pretty bad-flank guy. I mean, he stood on top of a frozen mountain for three years with no food, no water, and no shelter.

 

Of course Master Chief is a pretty cool guy, eh kills aliens and doesn't afraid of anything.

 

Phoenix Wright is another favorite of mine, but I think Miles Edgeworth is just as awesome if not more so!

For my favorite video game character it HAS to be Gary Oak, he is the perfect character for a main antagonist. For those of you who don't know who he is he is your main rival in Pokmon Red/Blue. No matter what you did he was ALWAYS 1 step ahead of you, he always chose the stronger starter Pokemon, came up at the worst of times such as right outside Mt. Moon (a pretty brutal dungeon), right at the end of the long and brutal Silph Co. building JUST before you get the Master Ball and Lapras (an EXTREMLEY rare and good Pokemon), and even on a luxury cruise ship filled with rich trainers who always fight you. Eventually you see him after you beat the Elite Four of Kanto (the strongest trainers in the region) as the champion and final boss of the game with a well developed team to counter your every move. He is also the grandson of Prof. Oak, one of your supporters and gets all of his new inventions before you. In the anime he has cheerleaders and a Corvette AT THE AGE OF 10, and has 10 OUT OF 8 Gym Badges in Kanto (half of them don't even exist in the game, that's how awesome he is). For a 10 year old this has got to be an AMAZING character.
