Parents telling little girls to NOT watch MLP?

How amazingly hypocritical.

Sure not all of the brony fandom is good for young people, but if your letting you little son/daughter online without some for of protection your doing it wrong.

coupled with that: some TV adverts border soft core pornography and a lot of music has lyrics that are utter filth, so unless there banning them from watching most of the TV most of the time, then I have no idea why this would even be an issue.

MLP is one of the most tame shows for gore/death/sexualization on TV at the moment.

Why don't the parents watch the show with the little girls? The show itself is pure and innocent. It's the internet that's just wrong. Little girls are missing out on a wonderful show because of their parents. Why don't they just give it a chance?

To the parents: For the love of God, do not let your children search for "My Little Pony" on the internet..

I got news for them, the "ifffy" content for MLP is pretty well tucked away compared to some things I've tried to search. I've had things that should not even have such things tied to them pull up something iffy long before MLP. There are fandoms that have the problems far worse.

Trust me on this from the image searches I've had to do while working on TVtropes.

WHAT?! One of the stupidest things I have ever heard. Chances are that 3/4 of them don't know what a fanfic is or they won't understand what the NSFW is about. How would they get in-touch with them anyways?! Even if they don't want to get in touch with a brony or anything...that doesn't mean they can't watch my little pony. They're telling the girls to stop watching the show because of US? We don't write the show and there isn't a chance the little girls will come in contact with anything NSFW.

Well, I understand why parents would want to keep their children away from... That sort of stuff. But little kids aren't likely to research that. They just want to watch the show. As for the parents, how do they know?! Did they decide to explore the world of Bronies? Mainly, most of the fandom is... Acceptable, shall we say. Little kids won't be searching the dark corners of YouTube if all they wanna do is watch it.

The only way mild MLP content could turn up is if you have your safe-search off. And even then, that's one pic every 20-50 or so. That NSFW stuff parents are so scared about is effectively pretty well hidden indeed.

I can only imagine what kind of Rule 34/shipping/porno fanfics must exist for Loony Tunes.  All those times that Bugs Bunny cross-dressed to seduce his adversaries and stick dynamite in their pockets or whatever?  UN-CISGENDERD SEXUAL TERRORISM!  And that's the show canon!

Wow I didn't think parents even knew or gave a crap about bronies.

We're kind of a big deal.

|----------------------------------------------------------|

I just read a few of the posts OP linked too. Guys, one of them spelt it "brownies". We aren't dealing with particularly educated people here. Besides most of the comments I read were against the partition.

Sadly, due to being in a Tny Toons club on DA I can fully vouch for that, some of the creepiest fetish art I've seen as come though from that group.

That petition (and it's comments) were pretty funny. I don't know about you guys, but if someone doesn't like the show, I say to them that "we're all entitled to our opinions" (hell, showed my friend "Friendship is Magic - Part 1" two days ago. He didn't like it. I recommended other episodes, and he said he's willing to watch it, but I never said "GAWD HWO U NOT LEIK IT/1") The fact that the creator was using the minority of the fandom and blowing it out of proportion to persuade others into getting the show cancelled is just not very surprising to me anymore (I also found it funny that this anti-brony was trying as best as he could to be civil).

And on top of that, I think it's been established the fandom will be very much alive for a long time following MLP:FiM's end. We will be in your nightmares, we will be in your dreams. We know when you take a step, and we know when you breath.

:o What in the hay are the parents thinking? Just prevent them from getting on the Internet and that's it. No lemons, no Rainbow Factory, no Cupcakes... >_>

I guess the parents have no idea that they are offending us bronies. It really isn't allowed to make silly compliments and they should never be accepted or approved.

Might as well ban The Simpsons while you're at it because adult males watch the show with their kids :/

Seriously, how stupid can a person be? I'm not sure if that guy was either a huge anti-brony troll or a legitimate idiot who thinks he can change something that's not broken. When has a little girl or any child been so obsessed with a show so much that he/she googles inappropriate websites and videos?

Honestly it should be one of those moments where if you don't like something then ignore it, but instead he rights a wall of text that I couldn't be bothered to read and a bunch of links that should be in some parental block if he's really that worried of 'those' sites.

Some people just make me facepalm so hard that I die.

Yes I'm dead right now.

Umm wat...

Actually, I really shouldn't even be surprised, these are probably the same retards parents that told hasbro that Derpy was "offensive" to people with Downs Syndrome and to remove her from the show immediately...

>_>

I feel rather bad for the little kids though, the show is innocent enough, all the parents have to do is just be sure they watch over their kids when they surf the web...

What was crock of shit. I did not want to wake up to this. If you're going to attack MLP, you might as well attack almost every current cartoon show in existance. Getting rid of one TV show does not make the world a better place, you fucking idiots. And it's the internet for christ's sake. You can't control people's actions on the internet and it's not like the internet version of MLP andthe TV show are linked together: they are entirely seperate from each other. It's these types of people that ruins things for everyone. They almost ruined video games because their dumb 10-year old bought COD, got angry at it, and the parents blame the goverment instead of themselfs for letting him play that game in the first place. It's your goddamn responsibility, not the writers, not the producers, not Hasbro, you, you shack of shit

Btw, I think this is a troll attention whore and we're giving him too much notice

Sure we could put up parental controls and filters, but it's much easier to blame someone else for our own laziness.

Honestly, this is like all that insane "video games cause violence" talk.  It's jumping at shadows because as long as they have someone else to blame, these parents don't have to think about how badly they might be botching the job.  Those parents need to watch the show and take in some of the lessons.

HEY, PARENTS!

INSTEAD OF KEEPING YOUR KID FROM WATCHING A SHOW

WHY DON'T YOU GET ON GOOGLE AND TURN ON SAFE SEARCH.

OR IF YOU REALLY DON'T WANT THEM WATCHING THIS SHOW

TELL THEM NOT TO WATCH IT INSTEAD OF TRYING TO GET IT CANCELED.

Wait, what?!

How in the hay do bronies ruin the show? It has never been required to browse brony related stuff on the internet to watch the show. Just watch the show or don't. You don't need the internet to do so (unless, of course, the only way you can watch the show is on Youtube. But then again, if you are going to let your child on Youtube, they are at their own risk as Youtube isn't a kid's website.) It is your job as the parent to prevent your kids from seeing NSFW things, and if you can't do that; well...

Second, I have a big problem with what they said about the brony fandom. Rape, Pedophile, Bestiality and LGBT crowd? I'll have you know most of us are most likely not going to do that. And what's even wrong with LGBT? Just because someone else is different than you, doesn't make them an evil being that should be destroyed. Anyway, bronies are very good people that don't deserve that kind of crap.

About taking down all the fanwork, I'd really like to see them try. I highly doubt they would be successful.

Some parents really want to make me facepalm.

^ This vid just explains it all.

To come to think of it, it makes me wanna laugh so hard because of how ignorant some parents can be. They think ALL of us clop to ponies just because that's who we are.

As for the petition...

Isn't that a bit too harsh for parents to compliment like that? I find it really offensive as us bronies have done nothing wrong. They're the one who should change their behavior not us. And as for the petition thats just silly. I hope nopony agrees to sign it.

*facepalm* and yet noone says anything about adult males who like powerpuff girls or smurfs, its just when guys like the awesomness of ponies that everyone flips out. *sigh* I have literaly had it to here with brony hate, its like everyone thinks we're all some sort of twisted pedophlies or something. Besides, if hasbro cancelled the show they'd lose a LOT of money, so I realy doubt they'll even consider it. And if any brony hating, ignorant parents happen to be reading this? I LIKE PONIES... whatchya gonna do about it? :umad:

I can honestly say, I am not surprised in the slightest...

I wouldn't even be surprised if Animaniacs was in the list of ungodly explicit artwork yet parents have no qualms about letting their kids watch that, but mention MLP once and bronies IMMEDIATELY get singled out as the ungodly sex deviants...

Screw logic >_>

Petition is already locked :)

Nothing to worry about that. I tell ya, some parents are just taking us bronies way to seriously. It's just sad how far people can go to try to end our fandom.

I wonder if they know that some bronies have actually held charities and fundraising to help some of the less fortunate people...

Evidently not...

Apparently to most parents these days, we're all just a bunch of sex-crazed lunatic pedophiles that only watch the show to jerk off to pony butts all errydae :derp:

Which I find to be rather moronic >_>

Wow, thats a relief. Thanks for telling me and I hope the MLP:FIM fandom lasts forever. I won't let anybody ruin our lives. Us bronies can do what we want and you can't stop us.
