So hi guys! Happy Geek Week!(I know I'm not the only one who knows about this) Have you ever had a moment where you were so hyped up about something that you literally started to geek out? In public maybe? Or probably it  was that new game you've waited for so long?

Well type your story in the comments! I would be interested to hear one :)

WARNING: Prepare for Sonic fanboy-ing.

Well there's that new game that comes out in October called Sonic Lost World. About a day after the trailer was revealed I was talking with a friend about how perfect it looked. Speed was correct, you didn't crash, there was a parkour system, no boost, wisps were back, animals came back, the deadly six were revealed and it was just so fantastically awesome! Before I knew it, I was shaking with excitement. Talking to everyone about it, bringing up different things about it. I watched the trailer about 30 times. While I was downstairs in my house I finally exploded shouting: "I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME!" (and) *insert girly squee here*

Simple, but yeah. :derp:

I have had so many glorious fangasms over the years it is hard to remember them all, one of the more recent ones I had was when I found out that they were making a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. I grew up with the 80's/90's cartoon and have been a fan of the franchise for over 21 years so finding out about the 2012 reboot gave me the biggest smile I had in quite some time. Then shortly after I found out about that a friend of mine told me that they did a reboot in 2003 so after fangasming again I checked that one out and loved it. I have been keeping track of the 2012 cartoon ever since and while there are a couple of minor nitpicky things I have with it it is so far so good, I love the shout outs to the 80's/90's series and the comics and am looking forward to tonights movie special.

- Regretfully, I was fangasming nearly daily during the week before the release of Assassin's Creed 3. Until that game came out, I was as hardcore a fan as you could ever imagine. Once I finished it, however, things changed.

- The trailer of Avatar: Legend of Korra Book 2. I nerded all over the floor. I'd been waiting to see some sign of something for it for longer than I would've liked, so I still am extremely hyped about it :33333

So was I, getting to kick some redcoat ass just appealed to my inner patriot and history nerd but though the game itself was good I kind of feel like they are rushing out the games a bit too much and not really giving them enough time to be as good as they could be.

One day, we were at a Mustang show, and my dad was talking with some friends.

I'm usually quiet, but as soon as someone mentionned that he seen a metallic purple Lamborghini Diablo, I was ermagherd!!!

I started naming all the differences between the normal Diablo and the 30th anniversary edition (purple one).

This was one of the few time I geeked out, another time with the Escort lol.

I definitely can't say the game was good. There were far too many bugs, the story made nearly no sense and much of the events in the story were just a retelling of what happened during those years with an added label "CONNOR WAS HERE" rather than it being Connor's story and how those events revolved around him. Hopefully all of that will change with AC4 but count me unexcited about that one apart from Naval warfare.

After finishing Assassin's Creed 3, I kinda lost interest in the franchise. I liked it, unlike most people, but I never really felt any need to follow AC-related news. I heard about Black Flag coming soon, but didn't really pay much attention to it.

Then I finally decided to watch a preview a few days ago...

I immediately geeked all over my keyboard when I saw this. Expanded naval combat, boarding mechanics, complex upgrade system for both your character and your ship, massive open world with tons of exploration to be done, ambient marine life...I'm in love with this game already.

Oh yes indeed, I geek out a lot. Although it's usually about cars and well I often don't care too much if the person I'm talking to is also interested in cars. So I start talking and just geeking out and often make that person feel uncomfortable. It's probably why some people that have known me think I'm a little annoying. I geek out about a lot of stuff, video games, computers, politics and just pretty much everything I'm interested in. Although it's mostly cars, I could give you a little story. Was in gym class, being all awesome, fit and stuff when I met an old friend and I started telling him stories of my awesomeness. That awesomeness being about cars and at the moment he owned a Jeep Grand Cherokee limited edition and well I started totally geeking out about cars and about "close calls". So yeah, I'm a pretty shy guy most of the time but at that gym class I was the most talkative one. I was completely out of control, I talked and talked about cars throughout the semester.

I was also with two guys in another class and well, we started talking about cars. Like usually I started geeking out and in front of everyone, lol the teacher was constantly asking me to stop talking. I just geek out every time I see a car, I'm such a nerd. :P

I geek out pretty much everywhere, when nobody is around me I still geek out when I see a cool looking car. It's not my fault that I'm a car nerd, cars are just so interesting to me. :)

 Like a baws! :D

So we are two car geeks, awesome. :P I'm mostly a Ford fanhatic, but I know alot about cars around the world.

The Ford Escort is my favorite. :) But unlike you, I'm not out of control, I'm usually so shy, that after a moment of talking, I block.

My father own a mustang, also: http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q576/GhostPony750/MustangV62007.jpg

Only 8000 were built in this color in 2007.

I was a BMW fanatic, I used to only be interested in german cars but it sort of changed and I started being more interested in Japanese as well as Americans I guess it's all that imports vs muscle, lol. Although in my country they are both imports but still. I was so obsessed with BMW that I was known for it. People even made fun of me for it, some just for fun but others kind of mean towards the BMW. I'm very shy most of the time, but often when I start talking about cars I stop being shy and just well loose myself.

Nice, I wish my father had a Mustang, my family has always been more for the Land Cruiser. So they are kind of Toyota fanatics my mother on the other hand, hehe, she is and will always be interested in cars. She loves the old big block V8s, she was around a lot of muscle cars when she was a teenager.

I love the colour of your fathers mustang, I love them mustangs. I used to kind of dislike them for no good reason really, it's just everyone liked them and I was sort of being a hipster not liking them. lol Although as I started getting more into American muscle cars I started to love them. Especially the mach 1 and well pretty much every Mustang there is. :D

Sorry for the late answer, I tried to write it 5 times but the site kept crashing and erasing all my text lol.

I used to kind of dislike them for no good reason really

Maybe because they are too common? The Mustangs are very popular cars, and they are everywhere. They started selling that much when the 1999 model came out, and obviously it was a success. And the mustangs nowaday keep selling.

So I personally prefer the Vintage Mustangs, from 1964½ to 1978. They are prettier and really rare, so it's impressive to see them in real life. Some exemples:

Mustang Boss 302 1969: http://mavieillevoiture.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Haut-1969-Ford-Mustang-Boss-302.jpg

Mustang Mach 1 1973: http://autodiariesblog.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/1973-ford-mustang-mach-1.jpg

Mustang King Cobra II 1978: http://cobraii.mustangii.net/images/1977MustangCobraII.jpg

~We went "off-topic" (almost) by geeking about cars. o_O

I think one of my biggest geek out moments happened when I heard about Prometheus (2012). I'm a geek of the true alien franchise (nothing exists after Aliens until Prometheus). I was so hyped about that movie. It was pretty good, but was fishing for a sequel, which hurt it somewhat.

I also geek out every time a new game is released that I like.

I also majorly geeked out when I heard about The Hobbit trilogy. I'm a major LOTR fan and yeah.

I'm that one guy who never gets hyped at any point. Because I know that it has a chance of going wrong.

Then again, I adore having conversations about fantasy and mythos.

Last month or so I had a conversation as to how we could explain dragons and all their abilities using SCIENCE BIATCH!
But yeah that was me being all like "yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!"

I geeked out like you wouldn't believe when Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15 were shown at E3. There was screaming. Much of it. Same goes for every bit of news released about Pokémon X/Y.

The anime I started watching recently had me geeking out so hard.

Monster Hunter and Sacred Blacksmith reference within the first three episodes on an anime I'm already enjoying so much?

I was making such weird noises.

I also geeked out when I saw the Final Fantasy 15 E3 trailer. So much fanboy.

Also, when there was a turn of events that was devastating to me in the game "Dragon Nest", I was just sitting there dumbfounded. I sat in front of the thing that gave me the message of the turn of events, sat there, with a face that just said "da fuck man?".

I then logged off and took a break. When I got back a few minutes later, I felt dizzy playing. Like, I've NEVER reacted so badly to something devastating in a videogame. It's like Aerith 2.0, except it was betrayal rather than

death.

The last thing I can remember really fangasming over was Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Not only was I hyped as hell before the game was released, I was still hyped weeks into playing the game. Lived up to my expectations, gave me hours of fun...great purchase. (Although when I really think about it now, I still prefer Melee's swift controls over the somewhat floaty ones of Brawl, but the latter's a great game nonetheless.)

I made a blog on this subject a litle while ago: http://mlpforums.com/blog/160/entry-5538-the-next-phoenix-wright-game/

Other than that, I fangasm'd pretty hard when Skyrim was announced. Oblivion was my favorite video game at that time, so getting confirmation that it's sequel was coming had me in a similar reaction. Almost literaly.

The trailer for the new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game on the 3DS had me geeking out heavily. I was all over the new graphics, the new places and music, and the idea of a whole new story line. A part of me had worried that they would end the series after Explorers of Sky, and seeing that trailer for the first time sparked so much joy in me. <3

Another one is watching Equestria Girls. I was less than enthusiastic about it first, thinking "Hmm, we'll see how it goes". But when I was actually watching it, I couldn't get a hold of myself. I was gleefully pointing out references and shouting things at the screen, clapping to all the songs and laughing hysterically at all the tiny jokes, and cheering at the end of the showdown.

Also, is it possible to geek out at something that most "geeks" aren't really interested by? Because I'm an intense fan of battle rap, and follow multiple battle leagues. I've watched just about every rap battle going and stuff. Yesterday night, they announced that a battle between DNA and Villun (I bet nobody knows what the hell I'm talking about :P) was going down in October, and I absolutely freaked out. I had to say "Holy ****" multiple times and was actually close to being short of breath. For about two hours after that, I couldn't stop repeating "DNA VS VILLUN, DNA VS VILLUN" to myself, interspersed with spontaneous shouts of "YEAH!".

I'm not sure if this counts but earier today I was at CVS and I saw the 1st smosh magazine on the shelf. And as much as smosh is so mainstream on the internet, it is only available in America (and I think Canada) and I live in the UK. Also it's the first YouTube channel I took an interest in. Not as geeky as other geek outs but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Edit: I just thought of another one, the first time I went to Tokyo Toys (A little shop in London specialising in Japanese media.) I was with my dad and I literally wanted to shout "This is so awesome!!!1!"

I usually keep my cool especially when getting excited for anything.

Things that I can go crazy over are anything in my list:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog games
  • My Little Pony Friendship is Magic
  • Sequels to games
  • Announcements to upcoming games
  • New episodes after a long hiatus
  • Comic Con
  • E3

Yep, I'm somewhat of a hipster nerd if you can put it at that. X)
