What are your thoughts with the results? How many of you won? Were you surprised? Who did you think was going to win? Who did you want to win? And why did Fluttershy win?

I thought the winner would be either Twilight Sparkle who has won countless polls and is a consistent favorite on the Brony Census, OR Rainbow Dash who is also insanely popular. Everywhere I go on the net, I see tons of Rainbow Dash, so I thought she had a strong chance to win. Dash is by far the most popular on this particular forum, but maybe not overall.

 

Fluttershy winning doesn't surprise me though. Her fanbase has proven to be a heck of a force to be reckoned with. At Comic Con, her pins were the first to be sold out, according to Equestria Daily. Not to mention that Facebook said she was in the lead a while back, and so I assumed it was a lock. I like Fluttershy a lot, so I'm happy for her and her fans.

Congratulations to everyone who voted for Fluttershy! Revel in this, and enjoy it!!!

 

As for who I wanted, it should be very obvious. I gave Applejack all of the support that I could even though I knew her chances of victory were slim to none. If any pony can handle defeat, it's Applejack, so she'll be fine. I'm still surprised that Rarity even had an early lead. I would have liked to see her pull it off because that would have been quite an upset. Easy come, easy go. Maybe one day Rarity and Applejack will have more support on their side than they do now. In a perfect world, all six ponies would tie. :3

 

I say everyone who voted for their favorite is a winner today. Even if your favorite didn't win, you still fought for them and made your voice heard, so be proud!

Aww Well I didn't win. I was voting for rainbow dash but It was surprising to see fluttershy win. She's not my favorite character even though I'm just like her. I'm very socially awkward and not one for meeting new people.

yay! :3 considering i am a flutterfan, (a term which i made myself) i am very happy about this. i wish i could have watched it live, but i am still happy about the results. she has great episodes that always boost her (imo) and she is not fully predictable (at least, to me). you think she is timid, but when push comes to shove you don't want to mess with her. she's cute, kind, and at times intimidating (the dragon, a bit of discord, when she confronts pinkie and rarity in putting your hoof down) if you disagree, i'm okay with that.

Fluttershy's victory wasn't a surpriseto me. She's constantly at or near the top of popularity polls. In fact, MLP Forums is one of the few places where she isn't a runaway favorite. And I honestly don't mind that because it means people here think for themselves instead of just going along with the crowd. It also makes persuading you with my endless walls of text about Fluttershy much more rewarding.

 

Anyway, the top three ponies are normally Twilight, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash. At BronyCon this year, more fans dressed up in honor of the blue and yellow pegasi than anypony else. I also had a feeling objections to Twilight’s alicorn ascension cost her some votes this time around. Put it this way: If anybody BESIDES Flutters or RD won this year, that would be a surprise in my book.

I may have underestimated Fluttershy for thinking that Rainbow Dash and Twilight were more popular, but I knew she was a top three favorite for sure. Pinkie Pie is fourth. Rarity and Applejack are at the bottom. I do think that Twilight's popularity has taken a hit ever since she became an alicorn princess.

 

I agree that it's nice to be able to defend your favorite with walls of text, especially when your favorite has a very sparse amount of support on the forum. It's much more rewarding.

I was going for Pinkie Pie, but I guess Fluttershy is good. My only problem was the voting system because I feel like some people got around the one day per vote thing by getting different IP addresses from connections in their area.
