Kid kicked out for liking ponies.

I thaught you couldn't kick your kid out of the house until he turned 18 but maybe that's just in Massachusetts élan teat that's total bull

You can't. It's endangerment of a child in almost every single state, and if the child is injured or gets seriously ill, that can be bumped up to reckless endangerment PLUS the original charge, which guarantees a hefty fine and a nice chunk of prison time.

However, it still happens, and it's hard to get those charges officiated, so it doesn't mean much.

I am positive this is illegal and his parents probably got a hefty fine and possibly some prison time. I can't believe parents would throw their own child out of the house for something as pointless as watching a TV show, geez....

Anyway people in the south (argh! No offense to anyone, I live in the south tooooooo :P) are always pulling bullshit like this. When will those people learn ._.

Warning: Rant ahead.

This is why the human race is getting worse and worse. They hate each other for absolutely no rational reason.

This is so true. Society today is just horrible. The human race these days is comprised mainly of people who assume that anything different from the norm is ALWAYS bad, even when there's nothing to hate. A very simple human instinct holding back almost a whole species' sense of morality. It's as if we're living among cavemen. And these caveman's attitudes don't belong in the 21st century.

This fandom is one of the main reasons why I still have a glimmer of hope in the human race. That we're not all cavemen, and some of us humans actually give a damn about other people. In fact, we give more than a damn. We give our hearts and souls. This world needs more people like that. More people who give compassion where people need it. More people who see no reason to hate people for who they are. And fewer people who'd be so insensitive as to kick out their own son because he watches a particular TV show!

See this is why I don't tell my mom much about the fandom and why I don't tell my dad I'm a brony at all. My mom knows about the fandom but she doesn't know enough to go into panic mode and doesn't bother to look it up (thank Celestia and Luna). And in my dads case she freaks out over almost everything and if my rents weren't divorced would probably hover over me 24/7 so I tell him vary little.

It's about time she took some action against this rebellious child. Clearly he deserved the little shove. Let's see how long it takes for his friend to grow tired of his presence.

Wow that's messed up.  I hope the guy manages to get by. My faith in humanity drops everyday.  I get teased at for liking the show, but i know it's in good fun, my friends don't care what I watch, but man.  And this fandom never ceases to amaze me.

Wow. That is one of the saddest things I've heard in a while. Faith in the human race just keeps on plummeting. Hope this guy can pull through. I love our fandom though. The fact that we'll help some guy we don't know just amazes me. Rock on bronies!

Damn right, that is ^^

How did you post this? This is nowhere near 100 characters.

Anyway this story is just awful. It's stories like this that make me root for the descruction of mankind. Is this the new stupid thing we're doing to kids now? First we kick them out for being gay, now we kick them out because they like kids' tv shows? Because oh, you wants a show intended for kids therefore you're a pedophile? Awesome logic, retard. Ugh. People like this do not deserve to live on the same planet as sane people.

His mother must be very cold hearted, people who judge from stereotypes and appearances are just plain stupid.

(depending on the laws of where you live) he could tell the local police about the issue and your mother can be punished (or warned) for this.

We bronies got each other's backs, don't worry; you got bronies all over the world watching his back.

The brony community is way stronger than some ignorant meat bag.

I call for a brony revolution!

Wow okay um.. What kind of parent kicks their own child out at 15 years old?!?!?!

I mean seriously? Aren't parent's supposed to, I don't know, support you for any decision you make even if it isn't the best one you could ever think of? I guess this bitch can't.

Parent's usually don't care in what you do as long as it's not bad, or it's a bad influence, or anything that'll cause you to change into something that parent's don't want you to change into.

I read comments on the Equestria Daily site on this bizzare circumstance. This fandom sticks by eachother even if they don't know them. That's very good moral support. I say shame to that mother who thinks that were child molesters and kicked out her own 15 year old child. Just nothing but shame.

Also, I wonder how things are going with him after a year has past. Maybe we should get in contact with him.

Other than that.. this has been my thoughts on this.

That's so ridiculous. To be fair, the fact that this made it to news means it most likely doesn't always happen, but still, this is so stupid. I'm glad there were so many awesome bronies to help this guy out, but I really want to love and tolerate that mother to death.

This is an extreme example of parents not being supportive of you being a brony. This wouldn't ever happen to me, or most people for that matter. That said, I hope the kid's all right now.

Honestly, his mother should be happy that he's watching MLP instead of playing games where you shoot people in their heads.

Unfortunately, that's not usually the case in our society, the latter is considered preferable.

There must have been some underlying issue, with the parents and not the kid, that caused them to kick him out. Whatever the underlying issue was, it is clear that those parents were terrible parents for kicking out their kid just because he liked a certain TV show.

Pride, ego…this is when parents cross the line. No matter what, parents must respect their children no matter how much they disagree with their interests. This could sprout into a legal case because of hasty generalizations and misinformation.

Disgusting behaviour from the parents, such a massive overreaction to something so minor. This guy is better off without those so-called parents.
