Favorite decade of music?

Fire Bomb

Recommended Posts

I was just curious as to what people consider their favorite time of music, For me it is the 40's and 50's, its a lot more relaxing and nice to listen to then what there is now.

So I bomb things. . . with fire. . . and do nothing else

Overall, I would say the 2000s. But not like the pop stuff, I mean like the rock/metal stuff. I would say a lot of the bands I listen to are from the 2000s, but I also like bands from the 90s, 80s, and 70s.

The '90s :D

Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Temple of the Dog, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Mudhoney, Pantera, the Gin Blossoms, R.E.M., Oasis, the earlier Foo Fighters stuff, Radiohead, and my personal favorites, U2, all had some of their biggest songs in that decade :D

This. My favorite decade would be the 2000s as well. A lot of my favorite artists either released music, or became an artist in these ten years.

I would have to go with late 80s to early 2000s. That's around the time in which pop music was at its best. Those times also included a variety of good rock and alternative music.

As for the late 2000s, the majority of that music can go die in a foxhole.  :D

40's and 50'

WOAH. You have the same taste I do.

I actaully prefer from 1968 to the '80s. That's when Led Zeppelin was big.

The 60's, easily.

The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Who, Simon And Garfunkel, The Monkees, Moby Grape, Jefferson Airplane, Bob Dylan, The Zombies, The Rolling Stones, The Left Banke, The Lovin' Spoonful, The Byrds, Donovan, The Doors, Fever Tree, The Cowsills, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, The Four Tops, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Johnny Cash, The Turtles, The Crystals...it doesn't get better than that.

Y'know, I've been on this site for almost ten years and I've never had a proper signature. Ain't that something?

Every decade has its share of good music and lousy music. To designate any one as a 'favorite' would be silly. But the 2000's and up do seem to have the most variety so if forced to choose, that's that.

This is a really difficult choice. If I had to pick a decade, it would be the 80s probably because it was the golden age of metal, well at least in my opinion.

I have to go with both the 60s and 70s. There you had the birth and golden age of Progressive rock, and even the pop music was enjoyable and felt genuine. And of course, my favorite... Jazz/Brass Rock bands like Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, Lighthouse, and the more obscure ones like Brainchild were around during this time. Plus, pop/rock/soul music from the 60s and 70s heavily used brass and woodwind instruments, which I, of course, love.

There's music from the 00s I really like as well, but the majority of what I like is from the 60s/70s, and I can't really deny it. Not to put down the other decades, I just haven't found a lot to love in them. The only one I'd really say I really don't care for is the 80s.

But the worst part is that there are people who listen to that abomination... *sigh*

On topic: I like the music from 1840s to 1920s :3
