Part two though! It was almost too sweet for me.  I always love the animation in the parts with all the magic, like with Twilight and Tirek's duel and at the end with the chest. I don't know why Twilight's friends got thrones in her new castle; they're obviously not going to live there. XD I'll admit it's nice for Twilight to have a proper role now.

That's a question that lingers in me too... I suppose we'll have to wait for season 5 to see what is to become of Twi and friends' little castle.

Eh, I guess the mane 6 will gather in Twilight's castle only when they have to talk or when they're getting ready for a mission.

 

About pegasus, the ponies are magical creatures in the show, I'm sure pegasus can't fly without their magic, and earth ponies would lose their strength without their magic too.

Hooray for Spike! I didn't notice his little throne, but I think I might re-watch that part.

 

Anyway, I talked to my friend about this; he thinks the thrones might be used as a status symbol for meetings or important events. Needless to say, I'm interested to find out!

That episode just sealed the fact for me that season 4 is my favorite season .

 

I thought it was a little creepy and sad at first that the unicorn lost his magic and cutie mark (but knew he'd get it back somehow lol). I didn't think T..what's his name would end up going after pegasi and earth ponies as well.

 

*heh, I had a thought about what would happen down there if he took enough powers, bad Wolf! (not the Doctor Who thing, but bad me!)*

 

I felt pretty sorry for Fluttershy when Discord betrayed the mane 6; made me appreciate her more that she was still the only one that was really good friends with him.

 

Lol, Discord reminds me of The Master from Doctor Who; he's walking comic relief (sandwich sword!!!).

 

But yeah, I did see from a while back that the medallion Discord received would ultimately be the final key, and that the thing Twilight would have to give up would be her magic.

 

And yeah, that final scene; AWESOME (but a little cheesy lol). It makes sense that Twilight would be the Princess of Frienship, since I recall Cadence was the Princess of Love I believe? So somebody mentioned, what if friendship was Twilight's specialty?

 

Hope season 5 turns out like this!

I felt pretty sorry for Fluttershy when Discord betrayed the mane 6; made me appreciate her more that she was still the only one that was really good friends with him.

 

I'm sure everyone feels the same way. I'm sure it hurt Flutters more than the others, because they never had full faith in Discord like she did. It's like getting stabbed in the back by someone you love dearly, as a friend of course.

Before in the show it had always been hinted that the flight ability of the pegasi was 100% physicality. But Tiriak being able to steal their ability to fly goes to show that it is not as purely physical as thought.

I'd be laughing at anyone who thought it was. Hollow boned wings lifting full grown mares that weigh hundreds of pounds into the air? Even if pegasi were real, it wouldn't be possible, without some kind of magic. They wouldn't be getting off the grouns at all, if it were purely physical.

WOW. Just... What else can I say.

 

The animation was glorious. The gifts turning into keys was crafty and very well done. The explosions, lasers, and portals were beautifully made (Lasers, explosions and portals? Hahahahahaha inb4 little girls' show)

 

The music was excellent. I loved the song at the beginning that the 4 princesses sang together. Luna's voice is like audio butter 

 

The confrontation between Twilight and Tirek was about as epic as you can get in MLP. I felt like I was watching DBZ again. It's also good to see an actual "final battle" in a finale. It reminded me quite a bit of the fight between Aang and the Fire Lord from Avatar.

 

We finally got to see what was in the chest. I figured it would be the Rainbow Power itself, but it was still awesome. I'm glad they lost the chest afterwards, as Rainbow Power is obviously OP (it was able to overcome the magic of 3 princesses, Discord, and everypony in Equestria put together).

 

And the ending!   Twilight's castle is very pretty, and I'm glad it includes fancy chairs for her friends. I think we'll be seeing this conference room quite a bit in season 5 (or I hope so, at least)

 

My only problem with this finale was that it was much too short. They should have done a 3 part finale! 

 

All in all, 9/10. I had doubts about how well they would pull this off, but these 2 episodes put those doubts to rest. Very well done MLP.

Well, it was tons better than last seasons by a mile. I loved the DBZ fight between Twilight and Tirak, and hearing luna sing. I wish her friends could have done more, as they kinda just played a damsel in distress role, but they were the focus of the last finale so changing it up abit is fine with me. All in all a pretty decent way to send off a pretty decent season.

I could be, who says the mares weigh hundreds of pounds? They could be an alien race that grows bones made of carbon fibre. They could weigh only 30 lbs max, or hell the laws of thermodynamics and mass may not even function as we understand in their world.

I don't see what the big problem is with Flash Sentry appearing.  He's an established, known character who works as one of the guards in the Crystal Empire so it makes sense to use him rather than just a random new guard that nobody cares about.  I think the bigger problem here is the hate-on for EQG.  Take a deep breath, then relax.
